I did inline speed skating in late elementary – early middle school. One of the most fun sports because the training is intense yet fun(after practice 4 times a week I would just stay for late skate which was music, food, dancing, etc. so 2 hours of practice and about 2-3 hours of casual skating. Made my first final after 5 months. I felt like superkid lol. It was really inspiring watching the older guys and girls skate since the strategy and form was so serious. Seriously though the sport has declined with fewer and fewer rinks around but if this was added to the olympics we could see a resurgence of interest and popularity for skating again. That would be awesome

This reminds me of Dong Sung Kim, the legend of short track skater from South Korea.

I said to myself why don't they lap them then ride it out,? Then seconds later he does what i said. Smart mannn…..they should have lapped them at least 3 times then ride it out. But i can't skate 1 lap let alone 70. Well done!!!

Brilliant move, especially if there is a lot of endurance. 1 Lap ahead guarantees no elimination.

I suppose doing all the hard work at the beginning makes sense and slip streaming that person makes even more sense.
