hello everyone and welcome to Ontario's Highlands my name is arian from see you soon CA and in this video series I'm travelling around the region trying different winter activities last week we got the adrenaline pumping was snowmobiling and so this week for the final episode we decided we're going to slow things down with snowshoeing this week so mez and I traveled to the ottawa valley south area of Ontario's highlands near Perth and stopped in at wielders pang Caicos and sugar camp this family-run business is one of the largest producers of maple syrup in Ontario on 730 acres they have 20,000 tapped maple trees 400 kilometers of pipeline is used to transport all the maple sap to the sugar camp where it is boiled into pure maple syrup visitors can come and enjoy a full day exploring the grounds including learning about the evolution of maple sap collection and how maple syrup is made make sure to pop into the wheelers maple Heritage Museum it houses the world's largest maple syrup production artifacts and showcases how maple syrup production has evolved over the years visitors can also make use of over 17 kilometers of trails that wind their way through the property amongst the sugar bush it was time to explore so so mez and i put on traditional style snowshoes and hit the trails all that exploring worked up an appetite so we popped back into the sugar camp to sample some of the maple syrup produced on site and there's no better way to enjoy maple syrup than with a plate of homemade pancakes alright well that wraps up my time here in Ontario Thailand I've had a great time here i have to admit i've become a fan of winter thank you very much for watching this video series i hope you've enjoyed it and that it's inspired you to want to come out and try some different winter activities please subscribe to my youtube channel if you haven't yet already stay up to date with all of my travel adventures you see you guys on the next one
