I like that 18 with a 16 construction, they'd still want another game check though…

    – 2 preseason games
    – Add 3 total weeks to regular season. 2 games and 1 additional bye week
    – Add 1 bye week between reg season and rd1 playoffs
    – 50 man game day roster with a 55 man active roster

All teams would have 2 bye weeks each season with a 3rd bye week for playoff teams.

Cutting down preseason games and adding bye weeks allow players more time to heal.

Current: 20 games played over 21 weeks (4 preseason, 16 regular season, 1 bye week

My wish: 19 games played over 21 weeks (2 preseason, 17 regular season w/ 1 of those being a neutral site game, 2 bye weeks

    Win win

NFL is not like MLB or NBA. It is a physical contact sport that is grueling on even the most conditioned athletes. I love football but I don't want to see it be a gladiator sport where players play until their bodies are literally broken. Shorten the preseason because it sucks anyway, keep the season the same length. And get rid of the MJ prohibition!

If you did 18 games with only certain players can play 16 you have to up that salary cap and roster count you’d have to be in the area of 200mill cap and 62 man roster

Im all for a 2nd bye week, and moving the super bowl to Presidents’ Day weekend definitely, but not so much on 18 games.

Regular season goes 19 weeks , but teams play 16 games and 3 bye weeks . Gives the NFL a couple more weeks on TV . My interest in 🏈 sure isn't what it used to be .

If the NFL had a farm system then 2 preseason games would be fine. Four preseason  games gives the organization what little precious "LIVE/REAL" time football an evaluation of prospects imo.

How about expanding the 53 man roster? Having two by-weeks?

These are not real issues for the fans. The biggest issue is the sheer amount of wasted time packed into a game. Younger generations are not as patient and will not watch through countless commercial breaks and official reviews. Football has an attention span problem brewing.

If you make 22 million dollars to play a game that you love why would you complain about the chance to play it two more times in a year?

I know the NFL has wanted to expand for a long time now…When it does come time to vote…I could not be mad at the players if they said no. As much as i love this game….the human body can only withstand so many car crashes before it falters. The players say that no one is not injured, hurt, or otherwise hobbled at the end of 16 with the bye as it is. No doubt upping the games by any is going to require roster expansion, and a second bye week. I think i liked the idea of the 17 game 2 bye week proposal the best out of the options they mentioned here. I kinda like the idea of odd number…barring a tie, you either had a winning or losing season….i like that. That second bye week might just help to prevent some of the little injuries and hobblings we see happening into the playoffs now. As much as I would love to see more football….I like to see the players being able to play good games….not getting hurt, or injured in the name of more money for the owners and the NFL.

    -18 game seasons
    -fully guaranteed contracts
    -2 bye weeks
    – No team should have to play Monday and Thursday on the same week

If they want them to play 18 games, then add 7 to 10 more roster spots. More jobs for the players. Make the owners spend the entire salary cap. Guarantee every contract.

It makes no sense when everything is about safety. They don't need to mess with stuff that ain't broke. I already think they're doing big time damage as is with almost making defense obsolete. Numbers aren't saying it now but I think we're going to start seeing it
