city skating is inline skating using techniques for multiple disciplines to interact with and overcome the urban landscape city skating is like MMA we can only level up by stealing efficiencies angles positions and approaches from all of the specialized sports of inline this fusion is what city skating is the QuickStart from hockey is a necessary skill in the stop-and-go city environment the unrivaled agility and stopping power from the sport will make you safer and hypermobile out there freestyle rules as the supreme example of one footed stability and control add to this that freestylers know their edges and adductors way better than the rest of us the low-profile prolong stride glide and outside edge push up speed skating will give your post sprint strides sustainable and efficient power to enhance your city crossing capabilities inline downhillers goes so fast and this is why examining their stopping and slowing techniques is crucial for the city skater I certainly didn't come up with this alternating drag stop by myself that is a downhill thing aggressive skating shatters all the barriers and tells us what can be done on skates the forces absorbed by aggressive skaters are the most extreme and all of in line and their control and balance can be cat-like if you are intent on unlocking your entire city aggressive skating holds the key it is possible to become a master of city skating without mastering any of these specific disciplines but if you ignore any inline sport the enhancement of your experience and the expansion of your territory will always be limited for exploring the chaotic addictive urban landscape you want to have all the tools which will keep you safe strong Swift and curious having fun goes hand-in-hand with being good here so thanks to all those specialized roller freaks who I Emmett ate so poorly yet only so much there I saw them on YouTube big thanks to a BSS sponsor sonic sports and to my super cool patreon crew but then gives bottom left

I have skated in Florida, New York City and Tennessee with one thought in mind>eyes wide open and prepare to stop. If you think inline skating is stupid, you haven't lived thru fear and excitement outside of a roller coaster ride in a damn amusement park that ultimately you are totally in control of and is free of charge daily, minus the cost of the skates…

You reduced some of those disciplines to only a few things they do.
But it's ok I guess for a shallow introduction. I just would have tried to describe a few of the disciplines better (also with only a few words).

All points made in the video are certainly valid. While I was navigating the Urban landscape of Brisbane today I reflected upon the points made, every single one of them was executed to some degree with varying levels of competence and difficulty.

Well done Mr Stoppard, Keep the entertainment coming 🙂

As a freestyler y’know what gets me is the adductors, the ones on the inside. They’ve been stiff in the morning for like 2 and a half years now 😂

It's amazing how many different things you can do on inline skates. Learning little bits from all disciplines is what makes inline so fun for me.

And also we have to move to the rythme of the city like these figure skaters move to the music. 🙂
