Hey! Great videos- I am addicted to Lads & Lassies. We have a smaller ski boat with and outboard motor. 130hp. It great as an all rounder, but never quite feel the wake is big enough to take the next step in wakeboarding. Any tips ? and then I need to ask, When are you coming to South Africa ??

David, that's ALL I've EVER ridden behind has been converted (weighted & towered/extended pole) "ski" boats. Perfect Pass, wide beams, wakeplates/tabs are luxuries out of my budget. Gotta learn to work with what you got. Yes, definitely possible!

I actually started wakeboarding on a ski boat when I was younger because of the smaller wake which I felt more comfortable on. I was able to progress quickly and move up to an actual wakeboard boat with a much bigger wake. It definitely helped me learn the basics and take my riding to the next level!

I don’t know if you’re still replying on this video, but I was wondering how you got pop on this wake, it looked like there was no lip on the wake.

Dude, thanks soooo much for this video. I own practically this same boat. I know that one day my kid is going to start yapping about how he'll never be any good at wakeboarding until I get a huge boat with a huge wake. I'm going to show him your video and tell him to be grateful for what he has and start working on his fundamentals. You are so awesome!!!

We have a Monterey 194 fs without a tower. Every time I cut in the boat slows a considerable amount and the rope tension gets all screwed up. Any ideas?

It just proves you don't have to have a 100,000 boat. I wakeboard a 1996 mastercraft. Most of the time these fancy boats are all for show and 10 people in boat and maybe 2 of them actually wakeboard. Keep up the great videos.

Lol dude that Fatsac is 750 LBS or 340 KG – like the weight of 5 adults.

Title is misleading… I was hoping he'd strap the boat to his feet. Should say "wakeboarding behind a ski boat" haha

I learned mostly a lot on an old outboard… I forget the HP but, a tiny boat. There was a semi-pro who rode with us one day that said it had a Sea-Doo wake…. BUT, the thing is, once I started doing inverts – Tantrums to start, I could see the landing and could feel the trick, it felt I should have stuck it… tried all summer. Then, in the winter, a well known local rider invited us to dry suit it (We were riding in WA State in the US) on his ski centurion. He had sand bags all around the edges of the interior and, I think like… at least 4 fat sacks, the thing was riding the water line – low rider, big time. But, first try, stuck it. Then, Front Roll, Frontside backroll, all no problem. That next summer when we threw my friends boat in… stuck it right away, no extra weight but, something about being able to land it, I was able to take it back to the smaller wake but, not vice-versa. Its like, a lot of pros learn on the cable systems then, take it to the boat. I think the S-Bend was invented that way, I think it was the first trick actually to come from the cable or, maybe the Raley as well but, I think the Raley was actually a trick-ski trick invented by Chet Raley and then re-created by Darin Shapiro on a wake board.
