hi everyone this is Michael Obedoza blading with chef knives and we are gonna unbox a very highly anticipated inline skate the Them Skates. Jon Julio this guy was a professional when I first started skating back in 97 and what was inspirational for us in the city of Carson being first generation Filipino was the fact that he was Filipino and it’s a rare thing to see Filipinos in the spotlight like that and this guy is known for one of the illest styles and inline skating to date and there’s nothing more inspirational for this guy that has been pro now for maybe 20-plus years and is still doing it while all the other legends sorry to say has kind of phased out but Jon Julio is it’s still killing it so he had did his partnership with Roces with Valo that was awesome he made some pretty cool skates I think a lot of us wanted to support Jon so we tried buying or we bought all those or did what we did for us to hear that he left and then to now know that he started his own brand that was 100% him it was not even a question as to whether I was gonna buy a pair or not so let’s go ahead and unbox these skates and let’s check out Jon Julio’s new skate brand them States I ordered from intuition skate shop which is owned by Matt Mickey and they do a great job out of Bakersfield and this is exciting I mean even the box looks amazing speaking of intuition thank you Matt Mickey appreciate you and I will be supporting and wearing the shirt wear the shirt look how awesome this box looks like it’s a great blue I love the icon I even love the handle it’s been punched out like an inline skate the box has a standard warning this is just a warning for no brakes skate at your own risk you assume the risk and liability in I’ve got a poster here Stefan Brandow S9 bearings shout out to him and Derek Henderson and nice little note from Matt Mickey. thank you for throwing in some them wheels I will definitely be using these and I look forward to trying to pretty soft huh here they are the 908 so this skate review is definitely going to be about the comparison of my old pair of Valos that were Roce majestic boots to Them Skates. this is a beautiful skate all right I’m gonna be putting these frames for my old Roce’s or Valo Majestics to put on these we’re actually late. We’re suppose to meet Ryan Northway at the Venice Beach skate park so I’m gonna make this quick already I can see the difference in souls so if you can see these this is a small I’m assuming that they’re small shells – I am at eight and a half so these are already tight you can see how the toe box kind of just is not wide enough and it would hurt my toes. I’m looking forward to a wider skate. you can see it’s the wider toe box and I don’t have to do any toe cuts but, maybe I won’t have to toe cut but we’ll check back and see I have the ground control 72 millimeter wheels out here they’re a wider profile versus undercover wheels where you U-C wheels were a little bit thinner but I you know they had the spokes and I would always break through them when I was doing aggressive stuff so I thought I could pick up a pair of the ground control wheels they’re wider hopefully they’ll be able to absorb more shock I still have the moonshine uhmw’s they’re holding strong these are the best anti rockers I’ve ever had I like the slim Kizer slimline frames has a wider gap and it allows me to put these big wheels on Are you filming everything? today’s gonna be a big day man we’re gonna make a video of this. I’m skitching let’s go what’s up just putting my foot inside my skate for the first time and my toe are really close that guy recommends taking the insole out and putting it on the outside. it’s crazy how much space that just opened up all right initial thoughts here I just took my first two steps it feels like I’m leaning forward already to begin with. I mean it’s nice to be on rollerblades it’s great to skate I’m in Venice Beach California right now all right looking at my skates these definitely have more flex because of these grooves here and then the sweet spot on the sole is like right here that’s a nice start bro well that was the pits we visited right next to the Venice skate park wait that dude is fuxen drunk well that was my first day on the Them skates and the skates are super light the soles and that sweet spot kind of near the Royale they flex very well because of the little grooves things but my only thing right now is I have trouble with my toes because I have to cut my toenails which is kind of disgusting but overall good skate I mean I’m looking forward to do more tricks and hitting up some Street with it I do I did jump a gap I need heel pads but nothing that was a big gap because they like so yeah I did a pretty big gap but I like the skates they’re good they’re not bad yeah so that was Venice skate park them skates these are my initial thoughts signing out please if you liked this hit the like button and if you’re into subscribing please subscribe and I just wanna say thank you for watching and I’m out. and today we are so blessed with all these beautiful kids around us so we’re gonna leave this important message for the kids because the kids are the future so we have to set a good example so kids if you want your mother your teachers no alcohol . It’s not good for you. your bodies and remember there’s only one race and that’s the human race!

Dude, great video. Love the review of the skates, cant wait to get a pair. Have you tried out the aeon 60s at all? Im kinda tossed between THEM 908 and the Aeons. Not gonna lie, at the moment I would probably have the same toe nail issue. ha.
