Personally, I can't stand the guy (Bear Gr)…but I stumbled upon this very knife at half price so I gave it a go… even though I prefer carbon steel to stainless, this is a very good knife. The steel is one of the highest quality stainless steels on the market, the knife feels good in the hand…all of the rest are just bells and (literally) whistles, but handy to have. I have many other knives but this one ranks pretty high among them and it is always in my bag for long hikes. I keep a Mora on my hip though.

This is wildly stupid. Scatter Bics around your stuff. A couple is enough. The bracelet is so dumb. Eat with your fingers. A fucking really stupid belt. I live off well water, I just drink it, YMMV. 😉 I have a better folder. I am a vegetarian, keep yer bow. A fucking backpack with crap in it. That's a terrible tool kit. You should probably just stay home if this stuff is what you like.

Ran into a moma black bear with cubs a few days ago. This happens quite a lot as Vancouver Island has a shit ton of black bears. What to do. whip your survival bow … and get killed. She won't even notice your arrows when her cubs are in danger. I apologized, complimented her on her cubs and left the area … noisily. She knew where I was all the time. As I was moving away from her cubs she will always elect to stay with them as its safer for them. Black Bear 101 folks.

The Fire Steel (although way to small) & the SAS bow are the only piece's of gear i as an experienced survivalist can say are the only choices i would pick from this otherwise junk list As for the personal water filter its a Berkey for me

So gimmicky. Mostly garbage. Notice the brands on some of the multipart kits? Gas station junk tools. And the bear grylls stuff is gerber's worst made line of stuff. The only thing that looked even USEFUL, let alone GOOD for survival was the bow and the water filter. Well i guess the fire steel is okay, but you can easily get longer lasting products of equal quality for less money.
