[Music] many pilots believe that the most dangerous stages during the flight our takeoffs and landings but there are airports in the world where takeoffs and landings are scary even for highly professional pilots they have to show real miracles of manoeuvrability Gibraltar International airports it may seems that the airport is quite normal but if you take a closer look you’ll understand that’s not undoubtedly the most exceptional fact is that the main runway passes through the main street of the city every time when a plane shil and the cars must stop landings are also complicated due to the fact that the island often has windy weather number 9 Princess Juliana International Airport on st. Martin’s Island the end of its runway is located too close to the Maho beach the shock wave from the plane engines has such a power that it literally knocks down the curious extremists watching the takeoffs [Applause] while landing planes fly low over the beach almost touching a tourist heads number eight masters walk International Airport in Greenland [Music] a lot of fjords are located very close to this Airport and this is not all dangers in this area is increased turbulence usually even when there is no strong and gusty wind only well trained and experienced professionals are allowed to fly in this region with such extreme climatic conditions number seven in 2010 The History Channel called this airport the most dangerous in the world lukla airport in nepal it’s located in the Himalayas at an altitude of 9,500 feet and it’s runway is framed by a high mountain from one side and a very deep abyss from the other this Airport earned the title of the most extreme airport in the world for one more reason takeoffs and landings are carried out only by VFR because only the radio station can be used here main airport in the kingdom of Lesotho this is not an airport unusual sense on a mountain plateau stretched 1,300 feet long runway and it ends with a precipice of 1,900 feet in 2009 this extreme airport was banned for air travel number five core Chevelle mountain airport in France the airport has an extremely short runway and its tilt angle is eighteen point five degrees the functionality of the airport is also limited by technical conditions due to the lack of a landing approach for navigation systems this leads to the fact that landing during fogs or low settling clouds is absolutely impossible number four thanh company International Airport and Honduras the airfield was built in a valley around which the mountains rise the runways are equipped at high altitude because of this factors the planes must fly over mountains at an angle of 45 degrees [Music] also the wind creates additional complexity forcing to make amendments literally in the last moments [Music] number three this half the third airport of the Saint barthélemy island in the Caribbean Sea [Music] the runway is very short moreover it’s located in an incredibly narrow place bounded on the sides by rocks during the landing the aircrafts are extremely close up to the slopes and there is a threat of falling into the ocean number two music airport in Greenland it can only serve stall airplanes also there is no anti-icing equipment at the airport because of Greenland winters and increase turbulence the landing in this Airport is a problem number one paro airport in the kingdom of Bhutan Airport is located in a small valley of the Blue River surrounded by Himalayas mountain peaks because of its location this Airport is recognized as the most extreme in the world for landings according to the various sources only a few pilots from around the world have a licence and permission for such extreme landings the aircraft crew must made incredible turns among the mountains to make a landing takeoffs is no less terrible and dangerous the plane should fly in a spiral right above the airport gradually gaining altitude to fly over the Himalayas such tricks are possible only during the day and only with good weather conditions [Music] and which airport is the most dangerous for your opinion right in the comments [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] thanks for watching

The guy that messed up on number three deserved it. He came in all  rared  back  like he knows everything.; Didn't touch down, until I was ready to do a touch and go. No wonder he ran out of runway. Apparently he thinks if you are unfamiliar, just blast in there, and hope for the best. I'd  be interested in what damage was done, and the estimate.

The first 20 seconds and last minute of the video were the best part of the clip, with the 737 and 787 flying side by side.

What's with the Boeing 737 Max "advertisement" at the end of the video? Considering that the 737 Max has issues when it pulls up sharply at takeoff it is interesting that the MCAS did not cause it to nose-down. Lucky. Won't catch me in a 737 Max.

I have flown into the airport in Nepal multiple times. It is crazy. It is on the side of a mountain. Takeoffs just go off the side of the cliff. They only are allowed to use one type of plane. They must have very good weather conditions to even fly. In 2018 they could not fly for 6 days in a row, leaving everyone stranded at both ends. Closest road is 2 days walk. Planes are only on the ground for minutes before they take off again so the don't get stuck there from changing weather.

Hold on! Number 10 with Gibraltar International Airport, due to the controlled main street crossing and its windy open valley?! Come on now, some of the smaller airports have windier times than Gibraltar ffs!!! Its only due to the wind current by the Rock of Gibraltar!

Paro is certainly the most extreme airport since Kai Tak closed down, however there are a few airports in both the Himalayas and the Andes that can give the pilot reasons for concern. Kulu airport in India the approach is through a narrow valley, also Swat and Gilgit airports in Pakistan have approaches that twist and turn through valleys. in the Andes there is Ipiales airport in Colombia where the weather has to be just right to both land and take off from and they can only land small twin propped planes such as twin otters and maybe Dash 8s from.

LaGuardia Airport in New York City is a bitch. When taking off the plane goes straight up in the air as it climbs the side of the building in front of it. When landing too many panes would overshoot the runway and end up in Jamaica Bay. Thereby closing the runways.

Gibraltar is NOT an island! This collection is BS: Greenland – they show a lonely airstrip in the middle of nowhere, viewed from a turbo-PROP plane, while talking about turbulence, then they combine it with a shaky landing of a JET at a city airport… I'm not watching further. Thumbs down! I'm switching off!

I'm from Honduras and my grandmother's house is literally right next to the airport. My grandfather used to work at the airport as the director of an airline, and everytime I went to visit them I would wake up to the sound of the airplanes and the house trembling as they approached. It wasn't rly terrifying for me honestly, it's quite a nostalgic feeling. However, before the runway was elongated, there used to be vehicular traffic right in the middle of the runway (like in the Gibraltar one). Honestly, it's not that big of a deal landing there and the majority of accidents that HAVE occured (which is already p rare) have been because the pilots weren't familiar with our airport and miscalculations.

On another note, it's extremely hilarious to see ppl who have never landed in Toncontin experience it for the first time. Priceless. Welcome to Honduras! LOL
