In Finland we don’t test kids this young. Why do Americans feel the need for this? Our school system has been named the best in the world. We let our kids be kids until they start school at 7. And even then the first years are very non-academic. We feel the kids learn by playing and exercising. Only if there are clear indications of developmental problems, they bring in special teachers to do testing. But it’s more to do with behavioral issues.

Be careful about skipping grades. Academically my son was 2 years ahead of his classmates and his teacher wanted to skip at least one grade. We let him skip one grade, but socially he was behind his new classmates and struggled. We put him back to his original peer group and his teachers were outstanding at keeping him challenged. He did great all through the rest of his academic career and achieved his doctorate at 24.

It’s good to see the western society gives so much importance to anxiety issues in kids, put them in therapies etc.. in Asian communities, if the child is stressed, he’s acting up, and a smack on the head will bring him around 🤦🏻‍♀️

With Riley.. it’s too soon to judge her imo.. yes! She’s smart, as of now.. she’s way up there at school.. but only time will tell..

Same with Parker, she’s only 3, she’s shy, but she will change as she grows, she needs to be taught to accept herself & find a talent path within her boundaries… I’m sure she has something in her, every kid has.. she should be encouraged to paint/colour & to write (when she learns to) to better express herself!

The inner teacher in me is wondering and getting annoyed if they were asking the numbers and letters in order. That's what it looked like for the numbers at least. You can't fully assess a student if you're not doing it in a random order because the student will just memorize the sequence (1,2,3 or a,b,c, etc.). Most kids memorize the alphabet song but that doesn't mean they know what a t looks like and what makes it the letter t.

y’all should stop labelling the kids on here with these clinical disorders like anxiety. and call some some smarter than others. Sure, they may have anxiety, and/or gifted but they’re literally in preschool and kindergarten and it’s not healthy environment for Parker and the rest to grow up and find herself. If 1000 people are saying she has anxiety it’s gonna make it worse when she comes on here in fifth grade and sees people saying that.

I remember my earliest memory was being so anxious that I was sick when having to do a group project at preschool. I think I was 4. I was always a anxious child and my parents recognise this and worked with a child mental health specialist and my teachers through out my lower education. I still use techniques today that I was taught as a child, acknowledging Parker’s anxiety is a great thing. It must be hard having so many sisters with you all the time.

Everyone is saying that it would be bad if Adam and Danielle would keep Riley in the same grade as the rest, but here’s the thing a kid can’t skip a grade because they are smart. Schools try their hardest to not do this because it can set the child back socially. They only move kids up a grade when they are so smart that it’s pointless to keep them in that grade.

If parker do have anxiety with anything they need to talk to someone about that cause as she get older it will affect her I went through all that and it became public anxiety 🤷🏿 so get her checked ..

its so obvious riley is way ahead, so the best choice for her is to put her in the advanced class, not many kids know that much at three years old, imagine when she is 5 and starts reading or writing. definitely test her iq when she is 6 or 7 she may come out as highly gifted
