ola youtube my name is Ricardo lino and I’m
a wheel addict let me tell you a story of what’s been happening in the last few
days this is what happens when you just don’t skate for like two weeks straight let me explain let me sit and tell you
what just happened okay so this is being filmed with my phone and I don’t know if
you ever felt like this but when I say that I’m a wheel addict well this is the
reason I thought yeah exactly two weeks ago exactly two weeks ago I
was on my way to work it was like quarter to quarter to eight something
like that and right be hot right before the shop like 50 meters from the shop I
tried to to pass some cars and I didn’t saw that one of them it was like a line
of cars and I didn’t saw that one of them stopped for a truck to came out I
didn’t saw it so the truck came out like one or two meters in front of me maybe
like ten feet in front of me and I just smashed against the Troy result I ended
up being a little bit hurt a little bit sore nothing too bad I ended up rocking
breaking the truck like I don’t know if something like three two and a half
three thousand dollar bill for breaking the window and smashed the truck here’s
the image not too bad but gladly nothing worse happened to me but I didn’t really
knew that the worst was about to start and the worst is actually I couldn’t
escape that’s it which is perfectly normal I guess if you smashed if you
smash against the truck on a scooter right then about one week later we try
to skip a little was that event that I even made a video
but I didn’t really skate inside this case I went around from one side to the
other there wasn’t really a skate few days
later there was the Halloween we were about we were supposed to go out and
skate but again I had my skates on but it’s not really skating yeah yeah of
course it’s skating but I really need to challenge myself in a certain way it
doesn’t really mean that I need to jump from the top of a building or that I do
I need to do a triple flip but I need to feel that I’m pushing myself even if
it’s going a little bit faster like trying to beat my time I’m a bit
competitive with myself I don’t know I don’t know if that’s about being
competitive or if it’s just like my will addiction probably that’s what it is so
it was the Halloween I even wanted to make a video but I felt so like because
I’m not really again I’m not maybe pushing myself or I’m not challenging
myself I don’t think the content is going to have quality enough so I filmed
this on YouTube these name is Ricardo Lee no no no no my name is Mario Lee no
I number we’re letting know the real prison is here MO is gonna be a bunny
later so if you wanna see more the bunny you need to to keep watching this so
it’s Halloween and we’re gonna give a pair of skates we’re gonna give some
some helmets and bearings and some t-shirts so
you’re probably going to be watching this too late next time you need to show
up to our events so we got and rape yeah just wait till you see mo he’s not the
princess but but what do we have here it’s the wrong day to be skating in a
one what you gonna do mo the bunny slide check this the bunny slide the – light doesn’t work
what’s happening here there Oh mate yeah yeah follow me on Daniel Dan and YouTube
and you explain I do these things yeah yeah okay watch out
sorry it was just explained to me how he did his horns how did you do those I got
those hey tell someone else to read it outro good luck ah that’s crazy I ended up not using anything then on
the weekend we went me and my family we went camping and I even put my off-road
skate so I thought I was going to make a fool off-road video I filmed the whole
beginning with my wife now it’s the one so we’re going camping say bye to Danko
Jalen bye Daisy it’s me I’m in charge of the camera today while he draws so we’re
on our way to go camping we’re going camping for the first time with Jalen
and we’re very excited you need to be in this lane you just focus on where you go
am i right no you had to turn down there you say you need to stay in this Lane
you have to be in this Lane you need to turn right lane DS is where you are we here will do I’m gonna put up a tent babe we
have officially the smallest which is still big but it’s officially the
smallest it from this place everyone got like shit not us that’s here that’s the
place once I got there I realized that I
wasn’t gonna skate because it was a different type of place it was all good
I loved it it was the best time with my daughter and with my wife and the rest
of our family was amazing but again I didn’t skate so it’s been
almost two weeks that I didn’t skate and today I went to work I left the house
around 7:00 a.m. and first because I really need the wind in my face I went
on the electric skateboard guess what it’s not arranged then I ended up
getting to like right before getting to work I didn’t add because it started
raining had to call it uber I called it over I get to work I didn’t have the
keys so this old thing it’s just I don’t know I don’t know if you feel like that
but it just feels weird when I don’t skate it feels like things don’t work
for me so the only reason why I’m making this video is to ask you how do you feel
when you go to skate I don’t know like for me it becomes a problem I’ve become
that hot that grumpy old man that doesn’t skate for a week and like I
can’t stand anyone and it’s a really bad thing so skating is my therapy
what’s your therapy I hope you guys enjoyed this video I’m sorry if this
videos sounded like negative it’s not I’m about to go skate tomorrow it’s my
birthday I’m gonna be 38 and I’m about to put my
skates on and try to do a cool thing for tomorrow so if you did enjoy this video
do not forget to give me some thumbs up this is being filmed ooh the phone so
it’s a little bit different I don’t know if the sound is okay should be okay I
hope it is anyway if you did like do not guess what
the battery died I’m telling you things just don’t work when I don’t skate
anyway if you did enjoy do not forget to subscribe to the channel and more
important than anything don’t forget why we all started skating and that is
because it’s fun see you tomorrow Cheers there’s just something about me when I
don’t skate Janice just finish this no come on how am I why not don’t skate
dude you like that it’s not just when you don’t state the words he’s the world

    Hello Ricardo
For me it is so the same, when I don't skate or don't do sport in general for a while it seems like I think a lot too much! Nervous and grumpy… It gives me a sort of mental fatigue, that kill my positivity ๐Ÿคช
Perhaps you should train on your body flexibility, cardio training… And finish the day with a good meditation /respiration ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Tell me about it Ricardo… Missed skating for the last 5 weeks as my back got hurt… 3 weeks recovering from that and then a couple of weekends raining…
Felt soooo damn good to get back on my skates yesterday! But yeah… don't be so hard on yourself as you're quite lucky you could skate everyday thanks to your lifestyle.
A lot of us can just get to skate once a week, so yeah… I know the feeling when you can't skate for a while!
If things start going bad in a row… try to break the negativity by doing something really different, which in your case is pretty easy: just walk to work… ๐Ÿ˜€
Good luck and thanks for this new video with unpublished material!

Linooooo! It's my birthday today! To wake up to a video of your skating was AWESOME! Best present ever. For me not skating is THE WORST! I roll every single day, it's raining on my birthday. Regardless I'm going out and just cleaning my bearings when I get back. I'm closer to 30 and it's getting strange. I turned 26 today. I have a 2 year old, and I'm moving to Flordia, USA. Gonna be weird. Maybe one day you take a trip to Disney and we roll Orlando! Keep up the awesome work Ricardo! Love seeing your family grow and your skating improve!

I feel your pain. I received a knee injury just before winter, so it cut skating short for the season. Was really hoping to get in a few more sessions before it gets too cold and snowy..but looks like that's not going to happen. It sucks and it really does put a kink in my attitude with everyday life.

Happy birthday Rico! Honestly, I feel you man. I'm kind of going through the same thing. I may not be able to skate for a few months. I actually find out today how long I'm going to be in therapy. I really am nervous about that.. what if they say 8 or 9 months? I'm literally going to turn into bigfoot or something… ugh…

I can totally relate. Since I started skating it has become more and more important to skate as often as I can. However sometimes it's a good idea to have a break from the things we love doing. That way you appreciate them more when you can do them.

You are not alone in this. I find it to be like that for me too, once i fell and broke 2 ribs, one on each side. I was practically immobile for 1month or bit more, went about 5/6 weeks without skating. Very frustrating

I totally feel you Lino. I got my wisdom teeth removed a few weeks ago and it took me a while to recover. When I was almost recovered and ready to skate, I ended up going to the emergency room for what may or may not have been appendicitis, and that took a few days to recover from fully as well. Now I'm fully recovered and ready to skate, but it's been raining for days. I haven't skated in weeks and I feel like I'm going into skating withdrawl. It's become so hard to focus on anything because skating is always on my mind. I guess I've become a wheel addict too! Luckily the weather is supposed to clear up tomorrow so wish me luck. I hope you're feeling better after your accident and get to skate soon too!
Edit: It is now tomorrow and still raining. ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Such a nice video and so nice of you to ask your audience! I think that skating generally has big impact on skaters life, it contributes to the mental state a lot. Fact that in order to learn you just have to fail, there's no other way to do it. You get used to little accidents, when your skate slips because of some silly reason or because you haven't noticed that big crack in a pavement and you fall in the middle of town, people feel more awkward than you because they are not so used to watching someone randomly falling, when for you it's just something that happens.
Fact that your body moves in totally different manner, in a way you dance with the gravity. The wind in your face that you mentioned, feeling of speed, and the gravity pulling you towards the ground on sharp turns. Aspect of learning and doing new stuff on skates is also so important because that's pretty much what keeps skater wanting to do learn more, that learning curve. When you surprise yourself because you've managed to do a new trick or save yourself from a "I'm gonna hit the floor hard" situation, feeling of progression and freedom it's thrilling.
It's also age defying thing, kids, adults, teenagers they all will smile to you because of the same reason. The other day I was skating through town and I could see a young couple stop at the end of the street watching me with a big smile on their face, when passing I heard the girl talking "yeah it looks like a pure joy" and that's what skating is, the pure joy.

When for some reason you can't do it, because of injury, skate malfunction, weather, busy life it just simply sucks, every single sport activity provides you different experience but I thing that skating is one of the most generous. It's like yoga/meditation on wheels. Something dynamic that can be very serene and relaxing. Great stuff! although I still have to learn that magic and parallel slide.

First, I'm really glad you're ok as that accident could have worked out so much worse. Second – what you're talking about is a kind of grief, as you are having to cope without something you love, even if it's only temporarily. On about a thousand ability levels below you, I feel exactly the same way. Skating is such an incredible, feelgood thing to do. I get a healthy, natural high from it, and I miss that high when, for whatever reason, I can't get it. But it's all good as it serves as a reminder for me to value my skating even more.

2 weeks lols that is NOTHING Bro , I started skating as teen on ice , then in my mid 30s started to inline skate with my daughter here in Cannes in France , I did that for 10 years made loads of good friends ,we were about 100 every weekend to skate around Cannes , but one day I broke my foot doing Karate ( one of the skaters had a school ) , couldn't do any sports especially Skating for over 2 years !!! SO I gave up completely I was in my mid 40s . !!! BUT i kept dreaming of skating all the time , It was really bad , but i couldn't put skates on without my ankle really hurting after 2 minutes, So i had to give it up ,but i could run ok after so I started running a lot then i had a scooter accident 2 years ago and broke my coller bone , so i had to stop sports again !!! It took a year to heal completely, BUT NOW AT 58 years old !! I am back skating !!!! and with a mate from back in the day , and i am having the time of my life , I can still skate like before , jump ( a bit ) power slide etc , SO Never loose hope guys ….

I just recently rediscovered skating. Before that and still I also have cycling and skiing, but yes if i don't get outdoors and exercise hard, pushing my limits, then I get grumpy and depressed. The older I get the worse it is. Dudes have to burn that testosterone off or it eats us alive from the inside out.

I have a question about triskates and do not know who else to ask. I recently bought some Powerslide Imperial megacruisers, 3×125. I love them! The way that they turn rough terrain smooth is amazing. But I am having some trouble with speed management and am starting to wonder if the skates are just to much for my skill level. Before these skates I was relying on a plow stop with a hard turn at the end to finish it off, and was starting to devlop a drag(T or L) stop also. I cannot seem to get the mechanics worked out to initiate a slide or hockey stop even though I do these all the time on skis. On the megacruisers the plow stop no longer seems to work. It might slow me a little, but not enough. All this trouble has made me wonder if I went for to big of wheels to soon. Maybe I should have gone with 110's first. Anyway, any tips or advice that you might have would be greatly appreciated.

When I havenโ€™t skated for a while I can almost feel the tricks slipping away, I feel grumpy and depressed but the second I take that first stride I feel great everything disappears and Iโ€™m lost in the skating ! It really is the best form of meditation/stress relief or what ever you wanna call it ! Itโ€™s just pure fun ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿผ love you vids Lino keep it up ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

Not skating makes everything shitty. Little things that I wouldn't normally notice piss me off. I look at the clock more. I feel antsy and way less chilled out. It's not so bad if I can go to the gym but even going a week makes me feel like everything is wrong and it's like that time back takes a bit longer to get into the grove and feel 100% natural. Skating is life.

Hey Mr Lino, another great video as always, even if you weren't you usual happy smiley self.

I feel the same way. I haven't skated in ages because my skates are too small and hurt my feet. So I'm having to save up for a new pair, but life keeps getting in the way. I'm supplementing my addiction through skate vids and tutorials, but nothing beats having your wheels on your feet and gliding.

Hope you get better soon, and happy belated birthday!!
