Kathleen Lynch: Atlantic Philanthropies’ partnership with the Irish Government and the citizens of Ireland has been hugely significant.
They recognised in us something that we didn’t know we had. I hope they will be able to point
to Ireland and say, “This is what we did in Ireland, this is what we achieved, talk
to the people in Ireland and they will tell you how good this partnership has been.” Narrator: The late 1970s and early 1980s were
challenging times in the Republic of Ireland. The economic recession had caused high unemployment and mass emigration. Investment in education and the knowledge industries was practically
non-existent. As a proud Irish American, Chuck Feeney had
already visited Ireland for vacations with his family. By the mid-1980s however, after
founding The Atlantic Philanthropies, Chuck began to view the country in a different light. Christopher Oechsli: Chuck is an entrepreneur.
He saw an undervalued asset. He saw a people whose skill sets and opportunities for impact
were underdeveloped. I think ultimately what attracted and kept Chuck in Ireland and led
to the investments that he and Atlantic made were the people of Ireland and the vision
of what was possible. Narrator: Chuck Feeney had seen the impact
of his investments in universities in the United States. He strongly believed that education
would be central to creating opportunities and building a knowledge economy in Ireland
– where the third level education system was in dire need of support. Chuck Feeney: Irish education had not kept
pace and I just had the experience in my life of realizing that it’s with educated people
that you can achieve more, and so we wanted to reinforce the structures of the universities. Brian MacCraith: Before Atlantic got involved
with the Irish higher education system we weren’t in a very good place – nationally
or internationally. Our reputation wasn’t strong, of course we had good individuals
as we always had, but in particular infrastructure was very poor. Narrator: Atlantic developed an extraordinary
concept called The Programme for Research in Third Level Institutions, or PRTLI. Universities throughout Ireland embarked on major building programmes and Dublin City University was a prime example. Brian MacCraith: We were able to put in place
world class laboratories, world class research centres, which actually transformed our ability
to engage on the world stage and to compete on the world stage. This has been replicated
right across DCU but more importantly it’s been replicated right across Ireland. Narrator: Around the country, university campuses
were transformed, academic life was enriched and the entire student experience was changed
utterly. Atlantic’s experience supporting higher education proved useful as funding
soon expanded to other areas including children, ageing and human rights. Christopher Oechsli: I think the distinctive
element of the Ireland story was Chuck’s ability and Atlantic’s ability to engage directly
with Government. Jane Forman: I think one of the big benefits
about being a spend-down foundation is that you are able to make serious investments and
that you are able to build partnerships with government. One of the projects we work
with is ‘Preparing for Life,’ which is on the North side of Dublin. ‘Preparing for Life’
is a home visiting programme, which works with parents and babies through to the child
starting school. Noel Kelly: Prior to Atlantic coming into Ireland, I mean we peripherally worked with kids in afterschool
clubs and summer camps and all that, but we never tried to change what was happening in
the family home. I’ve seen kids who should have succeeded not succeeding, so I believe
that the foundations have to be built early in life. Sarah Squires: The parents and children that have done this… I don’t know the kids are a lot more happier
and more… they’ll get on great in school and they’ll do well because they have all
the tools that were put in place for them and for their parents for them to do well. Jane Forman: It’s quite extraordinary to kind of think that if you do something with a baby, it has
that sort of effect in the longer term. Noel Kelly: We still have a long way to go, but for the rest of my working career, I will be pushing
for prevention/early intervention to become embedded right across Irish society. Narrator: Another long-time Atlantic grantee was Barnardos, the biggest children’s charity in Ireland,
working with vulnerable children and their families and campaigning for the rights of
all children. Young people: “AMPLIFYING VOICES!!” (laughter) Suzanne Connolly: Amplifying voices is one of the projects that Atlantic has funded, and that has been a fantastic
project for us to be involved in because it’s something we haven’t done before. Gavin: All young people have a right to be heard. Hafid: All young people have the right to have fun. Emma: All young people deserve a safe place to play. Narrator: As a part of Amplifying Voices, a group of young people from Tallaght in West Dublin
identified the changes that they would like to see in their community. One was that they
wanted somewhere safe to play. So they lobbied politicians and councillors and rallied community
support. And in 2014, Dublin County Council funded an all new multi-use games area. Suzanne Connolly: The difference with this project was it was about listening to children’s’ voices
– what was important to them, what did they want to change and what did they want to influence.
It wasn’t about their problems, it was about what they wanted to create – it was really
positive. Narrator: In conjunction with public/private partnership,
Atlantic also sought to build capacity across civil society in sectors such as ageing. Mary Sutton: People were living longer. That was wonderful, a tremendous achievement, bounty, but there
was also a burden associated with it, in the sense that how were health systems going to
cope, how were pension systems going to cope. So, it was clear there were major questions
in this area. Tom Costello: There was an opportunity to reframe what people thought about ageing. So, getting away from
thinking about ageing as being a health issue or an illness issue, to looking at the fact
that older people — or people — were living longer, they were having second and third careers,
and there was an opportunity to promote what became known as ‘Positive Ageing.’ Narrator: Along with supporting the highest quality research and establishing networks which brought
all the key players in the ageing field together, addressing the rise in the numbers of people
with dementia was a priority for Atlantic. With Atlantic and government funding, Genio
is helping to develop community supports for people with dementia and their carers in the
‘Living Well with Dementia’ project. Madeleine Clarke: We wouldn’t have been able to do any of the work that we are doing without the confidence
that Atlantic placed in us. What makes this really worthwhile is meeting people on the
ground who are having much better lives as a result of what we are doing, and knowing
that this is something that other people will be able to benefit from as well. So that’s —
it’s a real privilege to be able to have this kind of impact. Narrator: Dementia has been recognised by the World Health Organization, the European Union and the G8 as one of the great
health and social care challenges of the 21st century. In December 2014, the government,
with Atlantic, launched a ground-breaking new National Strategy for Dementia in Ireland. Taoiseach Enda Kenny: I genuinely believe that we are writing a new foundation, a new chapter of national
policy, one that actually cherishes memories of those who live with dementia and indeed
the memory of those who have passed on. Helen Rochfort Brennan: “My name is Helen Rochfort Brennan. I have early onset Alzheimer’s.” Well for me I
think it’s very important that finally there is a strategy for this country and that alone
is a wonderful thing because when I was diagnosed there was not a strategy, there wasn’t a plan,
so I think for me, it’s a great move forward. Narrator: Building capacity and strengthening voice was also central to Atlantic’s work in the
field of Reconciliation and Human Rights. Narrator: Atlantic funding focused on advancing the rights and representation for three marginalised
groups in Irish society: people with disabilities, migrants, and the LGBT community. Kieran Rose: The possibility of Atlantic funding for five years, and significant funding to allow us
to employ very skilled people, I mean that was a phenomenal game changer of an opportunity,
and for somebody like myself who had been working in a volunteer capacity for many years,
it was almost like too good to be true! Narrator: After years of advocacy, one of GLEN’s greatest successes came in 2010 with the Civil
Partnership Act. The act contained some of the most far-reaching legal protections in
the world for gay and lesbian couples. All the more remarkable when one considers that
just 16 years before, homosexual conduct was considered a criminal offence. Although Atlantic’s
final grants to GLEN and other LGBT rights organisations were awarded in 2011, the work
continued, and in May 2015, Ireland became the first country in the world to vote by public
referendum for full marriage equality. Narrator: Ireland had been traditionally a society of
outward migration. Then, in the mid-1990s, as the economy began to grow, migrants began
arriving in unprecedented numbers. With Atlantic funding, the Immigrant Council of Ireland
successfully worked to improve the lengthy and complex process of acquiring Irish citizenship. Fidele Mutwarasibo: With funding from Atlantic Philanthropies we were able to sustain and maintain the issue
of immigration and integration on the agenda. RTE News: They entered this room as the sons and daughters of 115 different nations, but after a few
short sentences they left as one, as Irish citizens. “I’m Irish man! So we have equal
rights!” … “It came with a work permit I am working really hard and I am so proud to
be an Irish citizenship, really, really proud.” … “What are you going to be when you grow
up?” “The President of Ireland.” Fidele Mutwarasibo: At long last the government is sending a signal that Ireland is a different country to what
it was before, to develop a sense of belonging, a feeling of being part of the community. Brian Kearney Grieve: I think the legacy impact that we have achieved through the rights programme is the increased
visibility and confidence and participation of minority communities in Irish society.
It doesn’t matter what disability we may have, what our sexual orientation is, what country
we may have originally come from and now call Ireland home – we all have a contribution
to make. Participation is key and I really do think that that’s the future of this country. Mary Sutton: I think the most striking feature in the Republic of Ireland is the scale – the size of the
footprint of Atlantic in this place. It’s both deep and broad, and in any area that you
look at, whether it’s education or children or ageing or human rights, you keep coming
across new areas where you didn’t even realise that there was an Atlantic connection. But
people tell you stories about a grant that enabled something to be done that enabled
relationships to be created that enabled a field to move forward. So I think the sheer
scale of the engagement over 30 years is just remarkable. Noel Kelly: Atlantic’s impact in Ireland, in a word: ‘Inspirational.’

I am Christopher De Caermicahel . A 61 year old Canadian male – dying in Malaysia due to the deliberate infection placed in my vacation condo bedding in Port Dickson Malaysia. I was infected – January 13th 2017 and tried to get urgent medical attention in Malaysia and in Canada and was denied it. The disease is leptospirosis – Weils disease with a mad cornucopia of Lupus- Cancer- septicemia – schizophrenia based on meningitis and as per all the documentation – a horrible pain filled life and death. I reached out to everyone in Canada – Europe – US.

I had no understanding of the disease – the complications – the legalities that Canada would force me into. Canada has no death penalty but has sentenced me to die – painfully. Malaysia is a sociopaths dream of chicanery-deception- madness- mayhem pure insanity. The Tower of Babel – merged with Kafka and Mephisto. A grim danse macabre of extraordinary mundane malice. Once you deal with them you will understand these comments.

A perfect storm, an innocent comes to a foreign land to re-organise my life, take a moment – start the cycle – better than before. Instead i was murdered by a psychopath Mr. Jack Goh and a wild array of gross people that are spotlighted in Port Dickson, Malaysia.

Canada and Malaysia – what a nightmare – Trudeau is so entitled – that an act of playing God – has ended my life. Malaysia has to pay for this crime – but why must I die to facilitate – Canada's destruction into Anarchy – with Malaysian innate destructiveness.

I now have to RECEIVE urgent Medical Treatment to stop my death or me being crippled permanently. Or both.

All that i am writing occurred due to the suppression of the horrific conditions that exist in Malaysia. The only other cases I heard of were to indentured laborious from Indonesia or Thailand and as they are considered 2nd class citizens – nothing was reported. 1 other Canadian story – but as soon as it happened – they left. I had no choice as at the time – I was way to ill – and unable to function. As hospital -Medical help was denied – i lay bed ridden for much of the past 2 years.

Coco-bay Port Dickson Malaysia is known by the locals for its great filth. I had asked a Malay acquaintance. D'july to find me a vacation apt – so that i can recover from KL and the other condo I had stayed at – where i was brutalized by TREFOIL MANAGEMENT AND BASED ON THE ONGOING construction on the floor directly above the bachelor condo – that damaged the walls etc.. and brought on severe anaphylaxis shock.

As i was leaving Malaysia Feburary 28th, 2017 – and going to Thailand – and then back to Canada. My plans were firm and i was heading back to vancouver – BC- Canada to see my Doctor Lawson Baird and understand why severe anaphyaxis – why all the allergies to any medication . How to treat my body with its unique genetic influences.

Mr, Jack Goh the murderous – insane – alcoholic condo owner deliberately infected me with a dangerous disease. i told D'july- the CHC -KL – all my doctors in Canada. St.Paul's Hospital – vancouver. From the day of the pathongenic assault – Januaray 13th, 2017 throughout all of 2017.

I contacted Dr. Hedy Fry office – many times – via email – via phone begging for help. She decided to forward all my private and confidential medical files – to CHC-KL – the RCMP – Justin Trudeau. etc. This is all illegal and was an attempt to criminalize me. Except Justin Trudeau loves criminals especially ISIS.. allegedly.

I was/ AM bed ridden – sleeping my way- collapsed – unaware of the legal disaster and death that was unfolding. i began to write many petitions and reach out to every one in Human Rights – Doctors – lawyers – its all well documented and you all have received many versions of this over the past year.

The fact that the people who you trusted – would brutalize you and seek your death.. is appalling – very scary – and no way out .. MY LIFE HAS I KNOW IT IS OVER. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO – AND NOW I AM FACED WITH THE GREATEST UNCERTAINTY FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON EXCEPT FOR MALAYSIA AND CANADA'S MASSIVE CORRUPTION.

I AM DYING EVEN IF I RECOVER – WHAT DO I DO. I BECAME A POLITICAL REFUGEE DUE TO THE INSANITY OF A MALEFICENT PRIME MINISTER JUSTIN TRUDEAU AND HIS MANY MINIONS. THAT SUPPORT THIS CANADIAN LIBERAL PARADIGM THAT REGARDS ME AS NOT CANADIAN ENOUGH.

I AM NOT CANADIAN ENOUGH – TO THE POINT OF MY DEATH. ALL THE DETAILS OF THIS ORDEAL – ARE IN MANY BLOGS – I HAVE TRIED TO REACH EVERYONE SO DESPERATELY – FOR HELP – NONE WAS GIVEN AND ITS A VERY BAD SITUATION. I NEED URGENT MEDICAL CARE AND NOW ITS ALL LEGAL. MUMBO JUMBO – COURTS – AMNESTY – MORE MADNESS THAN I CAN EVER HANDLE.

Canada is a very dangerous country to its citizens based on the temporary appointment of Justin Trudeau, as Prime Minister – who circa 2018 has reportedly – destroyed Canada – economically – culturally – created a cess-pool of issues that will take Canada years to recover – if ever.

The actions of the CHC-KL – Hedy Fry – Justin Trudeau – the list of who i contacted is a who's of Canada's politicians – all went silent. Canada or Canadian politics / politician for some reason prefer that I bring a law suit in the realm of $500 Million to Canada. The rationale is tied to the Trudeau – KINGS PREROGATIVE.

WHY IS CANADA AND JUSTIN TRUDEAU – DR. HEDY FRY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACUTE DANGER AND THREAT OF MY IMMINENT DEATH?

As i fell sick on the verge of my leaving – Malaysia – i was unable to renew the Malaysia visitors visa. I had contacted the Malay Visa office – via phone – and was told – that as this was an emergency – just bring the Medical notes etc from the doctors and there will be no issue.

I could not get a Doctor to treat me – and though i tried to get medical notes regarding the situation.. These doctors refused – to listen – just saying GO BACK TO YOUR OWN COUNTRY. i contacted Dr. Hedy Fry repeatedly and what occurred was her attempts to criminalize me ? Fry, took my personal medical files and gave them to the PM office. CHC-KL -the RCMP – and who ever else she wanted. These documents can be used to incriminate – yet its based on acute medical condition – with genetic influences. It was not meant to be consumed by the uneducated bureaucrats who support the Trudeau's Liberal persuasion. Fry is the Doyenne of Trudeau Liberal party – with lots of ill begotten funding – for exactly the portfolio that I had contacted her. In the end she is a common thief – and a person of undeniable vulgar character. Allegedly.

Fry like Icarus flew to close to the Trudeau – liberal sun. Becoming her own Shakespearean villain and came to believe – she was gawd (awful) almighty.

Fry's moto flies in the face of her Machiavellian ways.

Hedy Fry’s aspiration is to continue influencing the Government of Canada to improve the lives of all Canadians. Her advice to young students is that “life should be about finding your talent and pursuing it; you must leave the world knowing you made it a better place.”

People are scared to help me – due to Fry's LIBERAL influence – I asked what can she so that she has not done to me . Kill me – Lie – try and incriminate me . She did all this.

Fry you could have made better choices but you chose The Liberal Anarchy. Surrender your sword, your glib mouth with serpent's tongue, your Canadian Citizenship and your Medical Licence. Fools can no longer be suffered in Canada.

VOTRE MADAME FRY, tu peux venir du Fyzabad Gutter mais tu ne peux pas laisser la puanteur derrière toi, jamet. Alledgedly.

FRY NE PEUT PAS UTILISER LE PÉAGE KINGS – CELUI QUI N'EST QUE SOUS LA DISCRESION – DU PREMIER MINISTRE ET EN CE QUI CONCERNE LES AFFAIRES CONSULAIRES. FRY EST UN MÉDECIN MÉDECIN DÉCORÉ – QUI A VIOLÉ SON SERMENT HYPOCRATIQUE – AINSI QU'ELLE EST UN AVOCAT DES DROITS DE L'HOMME POUR EXACTEMENT LA SITUTATION DANS laquelle je suis tombé.

I asked that I be legally protected from these entities that have harmed my life. I have asked that restraining orders and crimianal charges be bought against Dr. Fry, PM JT, the RCMP – CHC-KL etal. The amount of departments related to this incident has mushroomed. Charges of attempted Manslaughter and intent to harm a Canadian citizen who only asked for Immediate Medical assistance.

Dr. Fry is a famous Doctor in BC. Her crimes will be protected – by the BC Medical Association – due to her questionable prestige and Fame. Fry is just a cheap despot prostuiting her life and soul for an empty man, trudeau and soon defunct liberal party of Canada. What will she do then, defend herself against a simple canadian.. Not Canadian enough. My life is over, but the real tragedy is that Trudeau, Fry, Goh etal – have free reign over others life.

She is under the protection of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who has allowed her carte blanche to have me killed. All this is can be proven but
