If you look closely at Roger Federer, you can tell that he modeled his game after Steffi, especially how he runs around his backhand to crush a forehand winner.

Let me set the record straight.
Steffi's career winning percentage is higher than serena's.
And that's really saying something because steffi faced HOF competition much tougher than serena
IN FACT, many times in grand slam finals, serena played girls with zero grand slam titles! Many of whom had never seen a final!!!
    No comparison.
On the rare occasion when serena must face a stronger smarter and faster player like Halep? Halep dominates and humiliates her.
    Fact.
By 29. Graf won 22 slams against much better HOF competition.
And graf's career winning percentage is higher than serena's.
What more needs to be said?

Nearly every male on this earth would've had wet dreams about Steiff during the 1980s; the lucky bastard Agassi. Of course, Steffi one-hundred-percent, all-woman. But I am partial to Martina Hingis, too; love her smile and teeny brat antics on the court.

Arguably the greatest tennis player of all time. 22 Grand Slams in 12 years. Phenomenal!!! Yes Seles was derailed when at the peak of her power that enabled Steffi to return to number 1…but even with that her achievements were amazing. To compare Serena won her 23 grand slams over 17 years. Food for thought

the era when women's tennis had so much consistency, now we have a new champion every tournament, Monica could have won many more GS, sad for her.

I am going to have to look up how many times Champion players did against each other in GS matches. I know Evert and Navratilova faced off a lot in a GS event with Martina winning the majority.

The greatest female tennis player ever. Lethal forehand. Definitely would have won more grand slams if she wanted to. Only 30 when she retired. Loved watching her play. Could carry herself after a loss a lot better than a certain so called greatest of all time does now. A great serve as well as nice legs. Humble as well. The greatest

In Earlier Years Some Grand Slam-Champions Only Play The Majors On Grass And Clay, But Graf Won On "Rebound Ace", Clay, Grass And Cement + Olmpic Gold. That`s Why (Even Without The Win In Seoul) Her Achievment Is Probably Bigger.

If Graf had today's powerful double fisted backhand instead of those defensive slices that finally succumbed under relentless attacks by the likes of Seles, Davenport and the Williamses, no doubt in my mind she would have been the greatest player of all time. She had the legendary speed, the will and the determination of a great Champion, but nonetheless, not the GOAT.

Graf was great no question about it but come on, be realistic, Monica wins at least another 6 slams if the German doesn’t stab her. She was at the peak of her career and was beating Graf. That’s 6 slams Graf doesn’t win. Put an asterisk before Graf’s slam record.

If Steffi had not lost the '89 RG final to Arantxa, she would have won 9 grand slams in a row, Just wow!

Defintely the GOAT, my favourite win is RG '99. She retired shortly afterwards.

You can tell that from 1990 to 1996 Graf struggled a lot in the Slams, especially against Seles but at times also against Sabatini and Sanchez Vicario. If it wasn't for her opponents choking when it mattered (Sabatini, Sanchez, Novotna, Fernandez mainly) she would have won a lot less. Of course Seles' time off benfitted Graf the most and even then she had to fight many battles to win her slams. She had not won the French Open, AO and the US Open for 4 years at that time in 1993 until Seles got stabbed and then she went on to win the French, Wimbledon, US Open and AO in a consecutive way, that's how much Seles' time off had impacted the tour.

    Love seles actualy.
She was the one who can prevent Graff but since the incident a graff fan stubbed Seles in a tournament in Hamburg. Seles collapsed and since then, she never the same eventhough her came back. Love seles.

I like Steffi more than Serena but there's a reason why Serena is regarded by the majority as the best female tennis player of all time. Perhaps, it's the fact that Evert and Navratilova were already past their prime and Seles (who had her number) was stabbed at the peak of her powers. Still, Graf is a wonderful athlete and could also be in that conversation as the best.

Serena is the greatest player of all time. If Graf and Serena both lived in the same era, Serena would eat those weak backhand slices of Steffi for breakfast.
