yo what's going on guys Eric's here and welcome to steep now for those you guys that perhaps missed Ubisoft press conference during e3 or any of the surrounding announcements steep is not coming open-world extreme sports game developed by the guys I rode soft annecy and it's slated to release in December now as you guys know I was over III last week and I actually had a chance to go hands-on with this game and record some gameplay and while I don't typically cover sports games on this channel steep was actually a lot of fun and definitely what something a little bit different to the table also apologies I didn't get this out sooner but there was so much to cover and so much to talk about that I decide to put this one out a little bit later either way the premise of the game is pretty simple it takes place in the Alps it's fully open world it has multiplayer and the four main sport activities are skiing snowboarding paragliding and my personal favorite wingsuit flying or wingsuiting now you can access the map in what they call mountain mode to jump to like a load of pre-made activities or you can simply throw it to one side and make your own routes now if you see challenges along the way and dive into them to seamlessly begin a challenge but again you can just board ski or fly your way around the environment obviously being an open water sports game it's a little bit different to your conventional open-world game I mean the focus here is still always gonna be on competing so while you could just go wherever you please you wouldn't typically find these same sort of more experience that you get from something like watch dogs or GTA and no you can't steal people snowballs but the way in which you jump between activities makes it super easy to compete with friends if you're competing in the same event as a friend you're actually to see them racing alongside you and in this particular case I'm actually competing in the same event as 269 what's even cooler is that you can turn on the collide feature with friends so if you happen to jump into the same event as your friend and you see them you can actually collide with them instead of coasting through them which as I'm sure you can no doubt imagine would make for some hilarious troll moments but talking for a second about the four main activities skiing and snowboarding go hand in hand they both handle very differently as you'd expect but when competing and daniel activities you can pick your preference also all of these activities have a trick component in some way shape or form and with skiing of snowboarding it's pretty self-explanatory you jump off of ramps hills etc and then you perform tricks in the air like spins flips so and a successful landing will then score some points obviously if you wreck yourself then you get nothing however for paragliding and wingsuit flying it's a little bit more daredevil because you obviously won't be doing flips and the like in the air your tricks and points actually come from close shaves so to speak the closer you are to the floor or the mountain or a surface that would otherwise kill you or mess you up the more points you get and wingsuiting is the one that I spent most of my time with we started out pretty easy getting used to some of the controls but in the end we were taking part in one of the more challenging redbull activities that required flying through pylons and pretty close to the ground at the end this is also the one where I managed to snag first place on the leaderboard for all about five minutes until the developer came along and set a new faster time either way as mentioned the beginning the video while I'm not normally one to play or cover sports games steep and the open-world component was definitely something that had a bit more appeal to me and to a certain extent brought back memories of say what I used to play 1080 snowboarding or SSX tricky only this time much more open so that is pretty much it from me for the time being I'm gonna leave you guys with a little bit more gameplay but hopefully you guys enjoy the video if you did then I'll like be super appreciated and comment down below and let me know what you think thanks for watching take it easy catch you next time peace out

Has this been downgraded already? I feel when they showed this first at E3 during the Ubisoft Press Conference, it was way more detailed…

I hope this game isn't too easy. I'd love it if there was actually satisfaction and difficulty in conquering a large, steep trail – that'd be more entertaining to me than the races. Right now it just seems like you could go straight down a steep hill, or land a huge jump pretty easily, which is kind of a turn off for me as a skiier personally.

I think it looks pretty bland. More diverse graphics and a faster sense of speed would go a long way towards making it look more appealing.

Was excited about this until I saw this video. Looks like it will give me about 5 minutes of fun. And Ubisoft will fuck it up

Thanks for the vid man! Looks fun! I just wish they went with a more arcade style for over the top like ssx on PS3 and 360. That one was a step in a great direction.
