hey everyone its Sonia Lewinsky from Monte Cristo travels where we answer your questions on international travel with a small dog and this well this is Monte Cristo we're outside again for our second video outdoors for snowshoeing tips with your small dog hiking season is not over so snow showing is actually really easy if you can walk you can snowshoe which is probably why in the last 10 years you've seen a 60% increase in people's snowshoeing a lot of people bring their dogs along which makes perfect sense what most people don't realize is you could take the little guys with you too you do however have to prepare a little bit you're going to want to take more frequent breaks with these little guys cuz it's a lot of work to go through all of this snow so what are you gonna want to do is you're going to want to make sure you have a warm back we prefer sling this one's full fur it's reversible so I could put the fur in the inside and what I like to do is when I start the walk is I take one of these hand warmers these are good for about 8 hours so I open one up crack it throw it in there and it heats up the bag when the time comes to take a break I take Montecristo I pop him in the bag and he can have a good nice toasty rest so as I mentioned before when you're gonna go snowshoeing with a little dog you're gonna want to take a lot of breaks you're gonna want to bring some water with you the good idea is to heat that water obviously don't boil it but heat it so that it has time to cool down but not get cold so that when you give your dog some water it's actually a warmer beverage you don't want to give you giving your dog freezing cold water another thing you're going to want to do is bring some treats little dogs are gonna burn a lot of calories snowshoeing with you so you want to make sure that you have something that's gonna help them recharge their battery so something else you need to think about is keeping your dog warm obviously now I've already done a long video on how to choose a snow suit and little boots for your dog so you can go visit that for that information but just a little tip for snowshoeing in particular you want to make sure that your dog's snow suit is a really vibrant color you never know if snow can get pretty deep and their dog might sink into the snow and it's gonna help you find your dog so showing with your dog is a really great way to beat cabin fever so get out there and keep your lifestyle active with your little guy you just basically need to remember three things 1 figure out ways to keep it warm so slingback snow suits that kind of thing too make sure you take lots of breaks bring water bring treats that kind of thing and 3 make sure that your dog is healthy enough to take on appropriate trails and that's it keep on hiking you you

Great vid! Concise, well -edited, and visually interesting. You could do even more VO in a vid like this, to get additional shots of Monte on the trail.
