What is the animal you were mentioning that you were investigating its tracks? I couldn't quite hear what it was, it sounded like Fisher?

I too love to be out in the woods in the snow, when it is snowing. Being in the sun is no fun. I have seen two fisher in my life. I called one in one evening just after sundown when I lived in northern NY. I was calling owls, doing a winter survey for Audubon New York. It was negative 10 degrees F. I was alternating between a Great Horned Owl call and a dying rabbit call. I do them with my own voice, not a recording. I had a family of Great Horned Owls come in. The fisher came a little before the owls made it to me. It came within 10 – 12 feet. It was amazing. I had another pass right below an elevated observation deck that I was on while monitoring a family of Common Loons in the summer. What a treat to see them. Very impressive animals to be sure!
