I almost hit a little girl on a BLACK run. Why the fuck are you taking small ass kids on very advanced runs. She stopped right in the middle of the run when I was heading down and had to jump over here legs. She was a skier

In almost all cases it's the fault of people travelling faster than their skill level allows them. You are an absolute novice if you try to rocket through masses of people.

Here are a couple of my own rules I follow, because people are idiots:

    1. The downhill skier has the right of way (Universal rule).

    2. Always look uphill before deviating from a long-time pattern or crossing a large part of the slope (or merging onto another slope), because people don't respect rule 1.

    3. Always expect downhill skiers to do the unexpected (quick brake for no reason, changing direction even after just changing direction, etc.), because people don't know rule 2.

    4. Always orient yourself while skiing downhill, so you're aware of what other people around or up ahead are doing.
    5. Don't stop on very narrow slopes, and don't stop in spots where uphill skiers can't see you (This includes kickers, rollers, turns, etc.).

    6. If you've been standing still on the slope, look uphill and give uphill skiers the right of way before beginning to move.

Because of the nature of snow, sometimes when there are crashes it is neither persons fault, that’s why I always just apologise even if it isn’t my fault, of the other person is inexperienced, they might think that because they didn’t do anything wrong, then it must be your fault, so just to avoid fights I just say sorry.

1:30 What will Skimaster 9000 do?
    (A) Cut a wide turn to dodge the Boarder
    (B) Cut an impossibly tight turn to dodge the Boarder
    (C) Channel the power of Shawn White and 360º Benihana over the Boarder, leeaving them unharmed and look cool doing it.

(D)Fail miserably at doing any of the above.

the answer will not suprise you

Most people say its always the person in the back who is at fault Becuase the person in front can't see behind them
With that logic if I cut across a 8lane highway with no turn signal and dont look in my rear view mirrors is it not my fault when I cause a accident

If I was a lawyer I would fund placing cameras on various parts of the mountain. I would put posters around telling people that if they are hit from behind then first thing take a note of the time. Second Better Call Saul. The lawyer of course. Let's sue these idiots off the mountain. Bankrupt them and their parent's. Skiing shouldn't be a game of dodgem cars at 50mph.

I never understand why people get mad when they crash while skiing, like one of the two does it on purpose…

Right, so, I've been watching these videos and have been reading the comments and I get it. Right of way goes to whoever is downhill. Most of the time, I can tell that people are going way to fast when they shouldn't be (regardless of what the reason for it is) can't control it and all that nonsense, but I can hardly see how the individual uphill can always be held liable. In some videos, someone downhill suddenly takes a 90° turn (obvious exaggeration) and the person behind can't really help it. Sometimes, it's the person in fronts fault.

I hate it when freshmen rush into the blue and black trails. These faking nuts just stand in the middle of the lane chatting or sit right at the bottom of a steep slope. God fuk all these people!

4:26 people, for your own good and for other's sanity, please, NEVER STOP RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FUCKING SLOPE. If you want to stop, the least you could do is go near the edge, somewhere you are visible!!!!!

There are comments saying the fault is of those who take the entire slope to turn. I'd just like to say that people who have recently started taking lessons are tought to do that by their instructors. Just slow down a bit, wait until they turn and then surpass them. Especially when a slope is crowded, you can't expect neither everyone to go straight down at full speed like you, or beginners to look behind them before turning (they're to afraid to turn their head while skiing). Who's uphill needs to slow down.
I remember when I still was with my instructor we sometimes had to stop skiing for 5/6 minutes because huge groups of people kept coming down at full speed on blue slopes (in my country we don't have green ones, only blue, red and black, so blue are the ones for beginners).

Most ‘riders’ are poor at checking their surroundings and controlling their speed and turns. Stick to the beginners slope to get that right first, most snowboarders these days just want the speed to go down, they haven’t got a clue how to link turns and quickly change direction, no experience with skis but I am guessing it’s the same basic skills to master

Rule 4 of the FIS code of conduct… "A skier or snowboarder may overtake another skier or snowboarder above or below and to the right or to the left provided that he leaves enough space for the overtaken skier or snowboarder to make any voluntary or involuntary movement". I'm not the Sphincter Police, but those commenting that these crashes are mostly caused by slow riders making nooby turns are kind of missing the point.

I completely understand the learning curve and that beginner skiers should cut across the mountain to learn, but it is so damn annoying. Whenever I turn across on my snowboard I look up, I am not trying to end someone’s legs
