welcome to the predator world ten ball championship proudly presented by Q sports international and hosted here in Las Vegas at the Rio all Suite Hotel and Casino we'd like to thank our other sponsors of the event Diamond billiard products Kamui and Omega right now we have our final winners side match in the stage 1 portion of our tournament and first up we have a nice round of applause helling from Great Britain mr. Chris Melling and his opponent hailing from Chinese Taipei we put our hands together for mr. Chang Jolin gentlemen you may lag for break and have a great match welcome everyone to the predator world ten ball championships we've got a heck of a match for you here today between Chris smelling and jungling Chang this is Georges tha in the booth with Jeremy Jones Jeremy tell us about our players you know the best yeah well chang-jung Lin and probably his biggest recent title that being just last October in Virginia for the international looking to defend that again this year and he just want a pretty nice tournament in Iowa when he entered the country for this trip it was a lot of still our players and I'm just worldwide wins neither player have a world title though George looking to do that this week and both on the winter side Chris Melling of course a real solid snooker player starting out then went to English eight ball which he did real well as big as nine ball title might be the Derby City Classic last year but has been right up there and many many other tournaments he's one heck of a player he's very well known he's got YouTube videos that you know just have some great run outs just a barn on there just fat for rail shot through your gun shot Mike there we go and he's off to a great start here with a nice break Yanis just noticed certain players that you know chang has been around a minute I remember him from when I actually used to go overseas and compete in some big tournaments world title tournaments and he was always really solid but he just kept kept at it and and now flourishing a little later in his career than most the age of 36 30 34 yeah and that sounds crazy 34 for Q sport saying it's a little older but that's just how young the games going but uh as far as cue ball and pattern play almost like an Asian buddy Hall you might say just really really keeps it in line makes sense every shot he shoots and just like buddy also when he has to come with one one of the best in the game at that as well the stance is perfect everything just looks great I mean moves the cue ball fluidly just look at this yeah well a typical Chinese Taipei player as far as they really use the mechanics to their advantage use a lot of good timing and follow-through to manipulate the cue ball and be really consistent with things and one thing about Chang is he's a little bit taller than most Chinese Taipei players and if you really exhibit good timing with a big frame you get easy power he's got great power he's using that both players are sponsored by predator a Chang is using the predator antara c8 model whereas chris is using the pressure of black line they're both the top of the top models for a predator and they're both using the Revo shaft well we didn't have to talk much about this opening run because he was just in line every shy shot it was pretty obvious I even think I could have figured it out long I'll tell you just like that we're at seven one yeah I mean one zero yeah I know that when i commentate we all rotate do the rotation on the commentary it's two out of three matches for me George and Jim but all the matches that I've done here I've seen a lot of break and runs to open so that lag is huge and I think the players are know it you know it's funny you say that because when the last match I mentioned that URLs started out real strong you started with a break and run mm-hmm and then kind of just tapered off but then kind of came back a little stronger at the end we've seen that for many players like you just mentioned early in the match they're real focused and it seems that when the player has to make up ground they make it up in the middle of the match we've had a couple of matches where they make it up at the end to like four games in a row five games in a row that one time but most of us in the middle ground they all start out very focused intent doesn't seem like they start out with pre-game jitters no and we're deep into the tournament now so you kind of expect that and of course the names and the players were looking at the recognize faces and you know how they keep up the standard of play and as the tournament goes on you're usually gonna see it get better and better especially with we got a great format for the players they're in a real good spot to be able to play their best pool predator and see us I have done a fine job as far as that and that's an important part of running tournament try and set it up to where the players can play their best that's what we all want to play the best here this is a race to eighth format after tomorrow they'll do a drop tonight actually because we'll be down to 16 players starting tomorrow and we'll start with there'll be a new draw and the last 16 players it'll be single elimination or race to 10 so a little bit longer race but there's no tomorrow yeah curses Chris's hand was forced a little bit there Jorge I mean he had to thin it and it looked like the nine was in the two rail path of he would love that night not to been there have been pretty easy to get up underneath the eight but consequently now an offensive shot offered cross corner bank and that's another thing it's like like most the great players Chang is aggressive as well and he's gonna go with top English down for the three in the side and the reason why he played that it's not only the bank laid very natural that way you could see there was an element of cover just in case he missed it and talk about comfortable he didn't take much time there made a decision and knocked it right in the center of the pocket so he's pretty intentional gets up there he knows what he wants to do and has no bones about it doesn't hesitate yeah that's just a a make up of a solid foundation when it comes to getting through the rack meaning there's times when you have to make a decision but the players it's almost like a Earl people always thought or was like just a quick shooter or just a straight shooter but he just knew the game really well things were very obvious to him quickly and and and Chang's experience here kind of shows the same he'll he'll take some time when time is needed but he does a lot of the same things and that bodes well for winning tournaments yeah this plays that real nice form this is pretty much a stop stop combo and then go from there I don't I don't see him he's got a little angle which is actually but such a pure stroke and watch him go hit mainly center load that holds the ball the best maybe a hair right English but you don't want it to get away from you I won't keep you updated on the on the outer scores that we've got a lot of winterside matches going on there all the winter side matches the last eight matches are are being played right now as we speak so after this round there will be eight on the winter side so for Matt's us on the winter side and the other eight will go over to the one law side but like I said the eight o'clock match tonight will eliminate everyone over 16 top 16 will come back tomorrow I got a little funny here he's gotta hit this lightly withdraw that way the eight pockets a little bigger and he could hold the eight easier knowing uh I think Melling knows Chang being one of those players that a little bit of an opening is a lot different than maybe a tear down in this tournament and that's hard to say but it's just one of those guys is gonna take advantage of everything yep you can see that just the way he you know folks around the table shoots in a nice rhythm and execute everything perfectly I mean he was in line the whole time there I thought and he'll come back I mean this would be Chris's right now and he no this will be Chang's break I believe it is you although you're right right did you Kris broke and had to feather the one their bank yeah that's what I was gonna get at he got in line but he opened with a really nice cross corner he made it look really easy but that ball was up near the middle diamond it wasn't like it was on the on the first diamond where those crossed corners really become somewhat of hangers for these great players again this is a race to eight we're using the alternate break format there's the 3-point rule meaning that three balls must cross the head string or one ball pocketed and the two balls cross a head string there's three there's a 3-point rule with ten ball huh okay I haven't heard I haven't heard anyone call it for the nine ball or for the ten ball yeah and we are also at this at this stream table we are using a 40 second time clock the players will be warned at 10 seconds and they get one extension per rack and watch the extension through the rack that makes all the difference in the world really gives that extra and the extension through the cue ball I meant with the cue stick it's a big part of that 10 ball breaking and not saying you need a a real long one but the longer you can put that with that good timing you just get a little bit better results than the next guy Shane goes all the way to the center of the table with it he's got a real nice break here and I think he'll go forward oh he can draw past the eight he feels like he can get by the eight here I mean I buy the five excuse me used every bit of the pocket and now again in a good position and you could say that you could have got a little straighter on this but really he kind of got the most out of the shot especially without flirting with coming behind the nine with the cue ball I thought he was flirting with hitting a ball but no he threw on this side of the five actually but in addition which you might want to know is that the ten ball does not count as a combo pocketed his cowboy gets spotted then you keep shooting well it looks like he's got to kind of shove the ball a little bit force the cue ball to the right unless he's just on the real bad side of it he may just have to go to the rail and take a cut shot but I man that's close yeah I think he's gonna creep this in and just take the cut shot on the six coming back and forth for the eight yeah just like that and he has some so many shots like if he feels like he's supposed to float this in without side and just come one rail to the top of the eight he'll do so if he feels like that's a little better shot he's not gonna really he's not gonna really like since the object-ball and take a worse way to shoot the ball for a position whatever is correct he he sticks with mostly pretty impressive he took his extension there and see which I looked at him just usable outside okay he's going up and down here it's right on the 50 that's what I'd have been worried about right there yeah now you you chip the cue ball coming down the table on a boat near the spot that just offers a scratch a lot sure but it did cost him as far as he's gonna have to shoot this nine from near the rail is he going forward to get off the rail here just pausing well he got a lot out of that he got to the other side of the table so we've already seen when when a shot comes up that requires a little more execution he's not too worried about that gunshot you know that's I don't know if I've been told by players that use the load deflection shafts as shots like that you can you can shoot because of the shaft and not so much even but you might stay away from it with a wooden shaft that could go off because it can get an angle from almost being straight in and that's exactly what he did with that with that shot right there I went forward and knowing that he was going to come in with enough angle that he wouldn't catch the corner up on top and he takes game number three and low deflection shafts hit the at the scene back in the mid 90s some of the big marketing behind him and some of the things that were supposed to add a little Q power meaning spin ratio easier to draw your ball basically and then also dealing with inside English that was a big one and and as still as I think I think when you're here even the top players today talk about certain shots they really like with it it's the easy q power and then also dealing with inside English what what if any do you feel that playing with a or have you heard that playing with a low deflection shaft Mike Mike well just little subtle swerve shots sometimes so I miss those quite a bit but he's gonna get some results and he needs them yeah it was tracking right for the hole that looked like but it was just off and he's got a decent shot on the deuce and three balls available oh this is he's looking good here and he's a little funny as far as he's got to come across though so remember this table slick it'll want to fall downward a little bit if you miss hit it okay pretty good there though it looks oh my but you see how close it was to the three it's easy for the cue ball to Conant want to come downward especially if you put more pace you actually have to creep into position a little bit more to hold the line on the cue ball is he trying to cut this is this a Kris milling cut he's thinking about it because he he doesn't want he doesn't want chain to come back to the table well that's for sure that's how these guys thinking it may be a little that score I'm talking to him right now three nothing that's a tough cut but he's made it he's gonna be on the back rail but with a shot choice of pockets one of the things about these guys one of the things we haven't really talked too much about in the predator world ten ball his Fargo oh oh yeah that he left that one in too far Chris's is a seven eighty four changes a 8:17 I think this change is one of the highest in the world and you can see why and talked about a little bit with Chris I'm thinking when I've seen him play is best boyy he's not a slow player by any means but he just takes a hair more time I love that win at the Derby just a couple of years ago he played some fantastic nine ball there now this one's a little funny because he want he's wondering that's why you'll see you guys when they're coming on at this full angle and the ball being deep they'll draw out of there rather than try to hit a follow shot and it's mainly because they're in a little bit more of control what happens right if they try to clip it and hit that point right there sometimes that I go sideways on you now if they're on the side rail or they go right into that point easily it's a different story but when you're coming from across the middle of the table it's a it's a tricky shot back and forth I'd like to go a little more not too much more of those he's got to come down with an angle yeah snowball it's almost laid perfect yeah and I'm really shocked he didn't just lay up for the eight and long a lot of guys like to move to the short pocket of course but that one there was a lot of cue ball movement from some distance just to get on a what might be just a little easier shot on the eight and now little thin on the nine so he's got to pay attention to this one he'll try and ship it in with a little right English maybe a little drag stroke I went for rails okay so feeling pretty good to open this match a lot of guys would have hit that one mild around the tent personally I like the way you shot that because of those little drags especially with the low deflection shaft you can get more out of the queue it can open up a little more well on this slick felt – yeah well no matter what the cue is you have to be in tune with it that's kind of probably the whole point of the story period is four zero now and let's see how some of these other matches are developing Shaw over lechner two to one pegye lion over Co one zero Billy Thorpe over mark mr. Basch two to one Johan chew out over Chang I'm sorry not over there tied at 1 and then Alex Kazuki's over tied with Ralph's ookay mr. Neil spyin and Alban Ocean tied at 2 Yoshioka and Ignacio three two one Yoshioka leads and that's a rundown of the play on the outside all on the winners side so those players will have the benefit of maybe a lost loss tonight but tomorrow that all goes away when they start tomorrow with sudden death nice break I got like perfect is all I mean looks like you may not get the 8 he did you know he just looked set up and that's what I didn't mean say nice break I meant to say nice setup for his break I'm looking real good there I watched Shane break I watch a lot of the breakers that break a real successful that's exactly where they break from and that's exactly where the cue ball goes he goes straight back up and then the two balls behind the the spotted ball to go to the side pockets he didn't get that he got the eight ball going around for rails yeah for this table actually think he over hit him a touch I think the second balls have been going a little long it seems like and really I was a little upset he didn't end up with some type of like tough offensive shot because I think he would have shot it yeah so you think I think he's come to play especially with a 4-0 lead but here's where the leads fade away I just seems that most of the matches that we've seen here's for the players start making it up John Ling broke the balls there great shot bro now see he's been able to turn his safety into a piece I think but still it was a great hit and just about all he could do you had to just edge to one ran the cue ball deep into that corner pocket oh maybe not maybe not he's got maybe a piece but it's such a small small piece that is dangerous yeah and I'll tell you this is probably maybe not the most impressive part of Chang's game in my opinion I mean I love his cue ball and his pattern play we've already talked about it but I'm not sure anybody kicks any better that I've seen in a long time than this man the watch he was very controlled bringing the cue ball over here towards this other side now very unlucky and maybe he would have left a shot anyways but he was playing the percentages trying to separate the balls and I've watched it now for a couple years man he's awfully good at it yeah he kicked he kicked the one ball to cover and the cue ball to cover and just happen to float between the two balls there where it little left it open but in the direction of the side pocket yeah Chris Melling wondering what do I have to do now I have to play safe with ball in hand I can't even try to get the arm a little loose John Lane is sponsored by predators shirt he was wearing it was a good shot of it again he's he's in trouble here though not sure of the kick shot here that is available at all don't know of any that I can see maybe a one row in between the six seven like jack up over the 10 and shoot one around trying to bend it in between the six seven I just don't see anything else at all well he's right-handed he's tall I think he can cuz you'll shoot way down by the diamond here you'll shoot to the bottom rail by the diamond and I don't know if he can tie anything up because it would still be hard for Chris to get the third foul so he's gonna try and put the five on the ten it looks like pretty smart and needed a little more I was gonna say what he has left his opponent straight in with ball in hand Oh Chris take a little more time now to open this frame I suggested he he gets this one done or controls a table well because he's down for 0 and I'm sure he doesn't want to go down 5 0 he's gotten nice here where he can come around to either draw around to the 4 in the in the corner or follow around probably draw okay got a lot of side spin there and kind of double-check this I would think cuz he got it kind of flat on the floor so wants to make sure he has a hair of an angle one way or another and he's not on the rail so he'll kind of pinch the cue ball a little and now he can come forward looks like you may have to put a little size spin but he'll come for the side pocket down and back up or just real slow I think he's gonna come to the rail it's a fast bed you don't want to fight it he likes his shorter shots well there the line was okay and some everything's so available man will be breaking in Game six an important win on change break and to get on the board and you always want to you always want your wins to come at your your opponents expense on his break Billy Thorpe up three two one and was at the table doesn't appear so any longer coping Cheung Alex peggeleh nodded at one apiece Jason Shaw at the table and what looks to be pretty easy for Bowl out to get up four to one Neil's fan out of an ocean to their played each other many times – to – yo Shaka and Ignacio Wow yo chakra has Jeffry Ignacio four to one and Kazakh Sen su ke with Alex leading two to one it generally breaks with the open bridge and now a dry break and kind of give up a look at the one I'm not sure if it's makeable or not it's close I think it is though I think you can self spin it with a little right English which also carries them to the two ball and then if we can get at it he can just hit it with a high ball and come in between the 7 and the 4 for shape so Chang will let us know pretty quickly if he if he can get at the 1 and I think you can sure so he's just gonna draw it over and play the one the two ball good yeah maybe a drag stroke with a lot of right yeah see I carried it over really nice meets a little angle he's gonna draw back with low left I believe I think he can slide this ball and get to the background draw back up in between the seven and the four it's just a little too much carried out to try and go all the way down for the three in the side I think looks like he's dead yeah these tables slide though he can throw it I think he can get it out of here with low left thing is don't put a ton of left just a little left and shoot the pocket he's got such a good stroke the pocket should open up and you'll notice he didn't cream it either some of that power yeah and this technique as well good timing like when you're drawing the ball you don't want to send the cue ball way flat and then it starts to draw you want it drawing right from the tip and that's a B it has everything to do with your timing and that's how you the best players in the world they draw the ball so easy they follow it so easy and also George you get the most consistent hit from cue ball to optic ball that way as well and it's really the formula for playing in today's game because the equipment is so good like when you and I started you hopefully before me I think we talked about that okay well yeah yeah so well I don't know if you started later but anyways another comfortable swing it's not easy a lot of guys stay away from that type of shot on the slick felt yeah and you gotta hit it easy and you gotta have to put a lot of ride on it so you can hit a little thicker so you can slow the cue ball down but getting back at it you and I when I started I played on equipment where you had to slug it and spin it to move that Simonis class wasn't so popular yeah or that type of cloth and a cloth yeah that one's a little thick but he got it I started at 15 years old there you go so you started I started 17 kind of a lately but I don't think it's a bad age I think it's easier to not develop some some of those habits that some of the youths can develop if they're not around some help especially when they when they start playing at a real early agent they can't reach the table they start out with that sidearm then it may be later it gets a little harder to break that habit interesting out here you can see the eight it does not go on the side so he's gonna need it an angle on the eight which makes the shot a little more difficult to get back over for the nine one thing we've seen though yeah he's good one because of what I'm going to say the one thing we've seen is if he gets it looks just a little straight he has such a powerful clean stroke he can probably maneuver out of out of harm's way I mean he came almost all the way across the table and he was pretty close to straight in well it's the same thing that just talked about so even when you're punching the ball like he was punching it it wasn't a totally flat ball it still had a little bit of rotation on it which makes it move a little more makes it roll out a little longer and on a clinic so far he's been successful every time he's come to the table he's been able to control it and Chris has been helpless in this chair absolutely helped us in this chair Shawn now leads four to one thorpe leads four-two 1 to our lives a four-to-one Kazuki's leads off su K 2 to 1 Neil's needs ocean 3 to 2 Yoshioka leads Ignacio 5 to 1 these are all winter side matches and again watch this break and I just he just sets it up I mean it's just good to break as I've seen looks like he took a page out of Shane's book well that was the starter of it and what happened to really actually as far as the excuse me the outcome of the ten ball break the the new you know new air ten ball break the actual outcome what you're trying to do is the balls are trying to make the position you're trying to play that brakes been around for a long time Efrain used it back in the camel probated series when we played ten ball breaks but he would draw the cue ball D in rail and back up many players had the same successes but just couldn't repeat it or be as devastating with it like Shane developed well a different hit on the ball as well I mean Shane spent hours and hours and countless days developing his break it was rumored that he he would spend you know hours eight ten hours to get it down he's missed one okay the two doesn't go I don't maybe it squeezes by he's got an offensive bank here he could play the one by the three and put the cue ball behind the four as well that's a pretty easy safety and ladies pretty natural yeah now you want to probably call the one just in case or he's going behind it what's he doing here going behind the tent yeah that's a good spot nothing wrong with that he's gonna get the jump cue though no he's got to go over the ten about 75% of the ten or so but he definitely has a look at the one meaning the four is not in the way now he's kind of looked to see if the two slides by it's important it's important to whether you want to try and Bank this one around table maybe he'll probably call it regardless like you might call it too on the side right here if you're trying to bank it around the table for no he's not he's gonna get a nice little roll here I know maybe not hit it hit the seven seven almost one end and he's straight on this combinations and the sevens on the inside of the hole and a little deep so a bit touchy here and not of course to make the seven but to hold the wand to where he'd get on the – yeah and that was was good thinking he was pretty sure the one was gonna escape from that corner I couldn't do much with the cue ball meaning he was straight on that combination now on him good position to get this seventh game great shape here we are playing all ball fouls so you don't want to move any balls now on anyway it happens it's a clear-cut rule there is no we have fans and boats about it which is the best way to have it kind of like when the golf ball moves if you have it addressed it's a penalty again due to the Shelf of these diamond tables and that balls pretty deep in that pocket look like Krista's gonna get one back here now to come to the table with a good break with a good controlled and successful breaks they keep shooting [Applause] and he's breaking and game number eight so really essentially what has felt like a much wider margin if he gets out here or wins this game he's only one break behind as far as the alternate break formats consider tough little tournament here 13 of the 64 players had world titles there was a lot of top-notch players that went to and out there was 16 of in fact that went to and out in this tournament Roberto Gomez fan fan yang warnky aampco fabula Rizzi James Adonis went to it out guys Mishka 14 ski who played so so well in the in the nine while at dinner on us at noon kachi Darrin Appleton Oscar Dominguez Torsten Holman hunt to Lombardo Matt Edwards Edward met Edwards came in here into the arena and played a really nice match and I just kind of come down the stretch had a few mistakes I played the first six games of the match real nice form he's got a shot he's gonna definitely attack he's got to figure out maybe just straight high inside and trying to try and come to the left side of the eighth and drop down below the two somewhere I don't I mean he could throw this in with outside and try and come to rails to the sinner man but that's touchy if he Clips the eight or the nine he could be in really bad shape don't think he really can pass up I think the two goes by the 9 as well so I think really just cutting it in with a hair of inside try and get by the 8 and come down towards the 2 as your best your best option yeah he could end up that's gonna be won't be able to hold it he can end up for the two ball in the side pocket but he's praying he wants to go beneath and shoot it in the upper right-hand corner he's looking at his uh where he wants to travel yeah off the one well I think he what he's doing at now is if he is there a way to run into the eight and be good because he what he feels like is he can't avoid the eight and I think with an easier kind of easier swing on kind of float the one in a little bit I think you'll beat the eight easily myself and maybe a hair of it yeah yeah yeah I know it's a nervy shot but I mean I think it's one that he can handle well those thing cuts you know it's actually a way to aim the shot to use the side of the cue to aim it and just go right through there yeah now if he hits it with a bit of speed he'll deflect and maybe catch the eight but that speed even as he got right he got into the eight and now just barely has a sliver of the two and if he doesn't have enough to be able to draw off of it he's in serious trouble correct he was gonna run into the eight he did yeah but he played it more with a high and a little bit more firm I thought but and he knows the angles better than we do but it sure looked like he could have got by coming back up on the 10th two rails oh he caught the four cut the four well it looks by the looks of that looks like we now have a presiding referee yeah he's been here the entire time I think he's been racking the balls the erect of walls but the unless they're called in they haven't been coming in and Colin fouled themselves oh he didn't call foul though Chris called the foul a point at the referee and called the foul himself we will have I'm sure for the semifinals and they're probably the quarterfinals and definitely the sim is in the final and for the viewers that there will start will start streaming tomorrow the last 16 players will start streaming him at 10 o'clock in the morning with a match every two and a half hours after that so 10 10 12 33 5:30 and 8 o'clock 8 o'clock this looks really disheartening for Chris he's about to go down six to two he's got to finish it yeah you mention it there's been there's been some comebacks maybe not all the way where they finished the comeback but we've had many were some had some big leads and held on to win but we had one was it one that came back most federal Garson met it or did he come back five in a row to win the match he's sure did that was last night yeah Feder end up getting knocked out today but he had a success last night that'll carry him off for a while speaking of success and making it look easy sang-joong will win now to go up six to two and breaking our outer scores Jason Shaw it's like yeah he's ahead six to one I believe now that's what it looks like six to one koa had 3 and 3 to 1 over paga Lyon and shooting Billy Thorpe up 5-2 to bleep bestir Bosh is at the table Johan schewe and Y Chang which Kevin Chang truth leading four to one and you're just Kazakh senuke only at two apiece ills fan and ocean tied at four Yoshioka and ignacio Yost ricotta leaving six to to some outstanding play on the Outer Banks and there's a couple well that you want you I'll tell you what talk about a guy two means and they challenge room a pretty tough customer just get settled in he's still still getting some of that term experience and it's not easy I used to be pretty decent in the challenge room myself and then the first year I went on the Pro Tour pretty sure I never want to match the seven tournaments I'm just nervous and different element all my peers heroes it can affect other players you know guys with extreme talents that you figure I'll feel like they should just win immediately but it takes a little seasoning they come through the tournament circuit oh yeah for sure you see it in every sport that's a short race when you're playing for money you can just you know flip the coin well I don't you know the sort of races of I didn't start off playing those I we were Tsar's we're a little longer whenever I started I don't really think it's that so much I think it's just the entire atmosphere the distractions sure see I was saving by the short races I'm in in the tournament you know if you're playing for money if you lose the set you just flip the coin and go seconds Brian oh the Masters no tomorrow I mean you got to win that match or you're in the loser site or you're out no I get that I was just kind of saying like a Yohan schewe he's obviously great in the challenge but he's won tournaments I'm just talking my like the bigger stage tournaments he's still just trying to get a little more settled in now is he playing safe here yes he is he was trying to nestle money to the 10 I believe but not not what he wanted but that was pretty discipline I mean he could make the ball but getting shape on that for ball was pretty tough so he decided to play safe yeah it's a little unfair if he at least doesn't you know makes a make a mental mistake or something right I mean that's why I say that's pretty discipline yeah very good say I'll just you know go ahead and fire this and maybe I'll get safer I think I should get shape he's he's not he's just playing everything he can control yeah he's not gonna take any chances he knows that he's he's got a nicely even believe it's worth protecting that's what good decisions that's an excellent way to protect the lead I think he's gonna get to Rails behind this and try and slide the cue ball towards the six and the four probably yeah I call it two rails on the side just in case Chris very skillful when it comes to these types of shots oh no love at all now he's gonna put the two near the pocket with a little angle to come down he hoping the four six I thought for sure if he hit that ball just like that he'd catch the sixth and state behind the floor stay real close to there on the two didn't have to end up right there near the pocket either it's a lot tougher shot if it's in the middle of the table or the end rail side rail this is just a little bit of a shot he's got to cut in but everything else about position is natural he got the six I mean the two ball really thin and that's why it had so much base on it just went right through the two balls well success here with this two ball could spell the beginning of the end for Chris million in this match I guess if I had to lose I'd wonder what happened there but something has definitely caught chains Chang's attention over to the right I wouldn't doubt if he was the referee don't I think it had to do with an extension well the little distraction didn't get him he stood up redressed and pocketed the ball and from here looks like he'll just move right through only thing you do wrong here scratching the side I'm sure you'll take that side pocket out of the equation yeah really excels at keeping the line of the cue ball how he wants it when it comes down to it whoever is in the finals of these tournaments or come down the last matches of these turn this tournament here the world ten ball predator world ten ball it's gonna take you know some openings where you kick safe and some situations to steal matches from a guy like chain it's just not gonna make a lot of mistakes well this this type of play we just saw from chain right now and he this match so far was exhibited by Niels flying in the in the nine ball we're going to see him a couple of times and saw some very fine matches from him on the same level and the same you know look very much the same just overpowering everything controlled in line so he continues Niels will then work his way these guys might meet in the hot seat and Alban I think was struggling a little earlier in the tin wall but it's cleaned things up you're still in the winter side a guy when I say struggling just it's not a lot of mistakes but well it's just unusual when I see him make like two and three or four games or something like that yeah sure a lot with the needles fine they're tight at four yeah so they both play probably playing very well and those four just took a 6-3 lead Jason Shaw yes Lightner up six to two coping chunk ahead over Alex paga lion for two – okay this is a spotty may kick at this if he feels really nice about it that's a hard place to roll out if you kick to the bottom rail trying to clip it coming to rails and clip – want to come over behind the eight with the cue ball it requires a little side spin but man you're in a tough spot to roll out so he's gonna roll out to a jump shot and with the three covered up I'm pretty sure I gotta let my opponent go here especially with a 72 lead there's not much of a decision well I think I can hear you because he just said knock yourself out yeah and really Chris probably rolled out to the correct place trying to get it back and create something rather than take a little with the worst of it kicking at it I don't think the forest garden that doesn't yeah well pretty full on the five maybe over two-thirds of the ball and say something like that but he's gone to the bigger cue to tranq ray cue ball power and movement oh he's masked saying this oh what a shot and he's gonna get in the gap I believe he fooled us there what a great shot there's a highlight reel shot and it's gotta knock this one down okay cue balls so not quite settled this match that's for sure they may have to shoot the five from some distance also can I get to the back rail with the cue ball here that's important oh you went the other way oh wow v8 lost it Wow mr. Chang is on the hill here so looks like we're gonna close this one out pretty early what a great shot he made on that shot on that one ball pushed out for it but looked to be no future in the shot ruling and he just got a little out of line from here just knock it in the corner but just draw away from it and the rail come out pretty simple for Chun Ling Chang 34 year old from Chinese Taipei got here his world ranking as the dress and we'll have a match for you at 8 p.m. this is George th and Jeremy Jones signing out we'll see you soon [Applause]

Chang is just way to basic. Nothing special and not impressed.

Chang won the 10 ball tournament at our local pool hall a week before this tournament. Beat Shane 11-3 in the final and broke and ran 9 straight racks after being down 3-1. Incredible break shot that night and flawless cue ball control. The guy doesn't appear to have any weaknesses right now.
