okay we're starting the title match of the 2012 US Open Pete Weber vs. Michael Fagan and I think I get to start yes I do and actually I'm starting with the same ball that I used the first three games which was a Marvel Marvel pearl and you know I'm feeling really good right at the moment because I've won three games so I'm feeling really good about myself and how I'm throwing the ball you know the this one creeps a little high I was fortunate just to leave the four pin you know that's not that big of deal it's a pretty easy spare to make soon as I say that you know I miss it but you know when I let it go I thought it was pretty good it just grabs a lane a little bit early so you know you got to go high every once in a while no I didn't miss it I didn't really don't know what Michaels thinking right at the moment why I think he might be a little bit nervous bowing first you know bowling for a title at the US Open especially against me you know I know I don't intimidate the young kids anymore but you know I still might have some intimidation to him when it comes to the US Open well he's got a great release Michael Fagan does and then you know it he reminds me a lot of me with his release he's got that hi long backswing and then he's got a probably a little more end-over-end role than I got but his release really reminds me of mine which is pretty cool you know you don't say that about many people but what a great release he's got what a great attitude he's got you know to leave the US Open is like he did was was fantastic as you're seeing the results of the 2012 or 2009 2012 us pc masters you know and another USBC tournament that we're thankful for the USBC stepping up and taking responsibility and and sponsoring these two tournaments for us you know great shot there he got he got a little more loft onto that ball the ball grabbed a little little better and he came into the pocket slap the 10 out you know that's that's what you're looking for you're looking for the back end at the US Open you're not looking for early roll or anything you're looking for the very back end of the lane where the ball can grab and and make the turn now as you see I've made a ball change here not real sure Paul high change too but you know it's a that's a little smoother ball it goes a little farther down the lane for me you know great shot ring 10 there's nothing you can do about that and then I look at the fans over there and the kid cheered when I left the ring in 10 and I didn't appreciate that that's why I'm staring him down and as soon as I make the spare I look at him and say I don't care if you move against me just don't let me hear it and you know that's that's fine I don't I don't mind people cheering for Michael but don't root against me because that only pisses me off and makes me more mad when I told him it's called sportsmanship pal said do it again and I'll have you removed he knows who he is he won't even look at me so you know I've thrown two pretty good shots but you know here I go and I'm picking back up the the Marvel you know I just had a little more confidence on that lane I could get a little bit deeper because the ball returns not in my way and that's alright you know it just it's a matter of filling frames in this tournament trying to stay away from the opens there I went high again another four pin you know I moved a little bit on the approach and you know as you saw at the end of the end of the shot when I walked off the approach I looked over at Chris Schlemmer or saying you know I thought I threw that one's pretty good so you know maybe I should change balls again on that lane also and I think we both came up with the with the idea that yeah maybe you should because the other one feels a little bit farther down the line yeah see I told him you know who you are too you know at this point I'm just happy I've filled three frames I haven't got real excited about anything yet except the kid in the stands which I think he deserved but you know most bowlers know the the more you make me mad the better I get so it's it's kind of neat you know Michael Michael throwing the same ball out there takes an early lead takes an early 12 pin leave you know that's that's something you think about when you're when you're going for a title you know hey I'm down 12 already and we're only into three frames you know and it's just a matter of everything staying focused on what I needed to do and you know doing what I need to do and not worrying about what Michael's doing yeah he defeated me in match play but you know that's it's not today it's not that it's not the title match ooh Michael through another great shot you got the ring in town and it like I say it's something you just can't avoid you can throw the best shot of your life and still get nine so you know he's a he threw a great shot didn't strike but you know Michael is a great spare shooter too so you know I know he's gonna make this you know that's been five years since I seen this but I'm pretty sure he's gonna make it yeah of course he will you know notice Michael and me Michaels was a little more calm and cool and collective and I'm a little more animated than he is and you know that's just my style of bowling I like to I like to let the people know how I'm feeling when I throw the ball or you know they know if I'm happy they know if I'm upset you know Michael he just kind of throws the ball turns around and walks back you know you know he gets excited don't get me wrong but in a situation like this I think he wants to keep his nerves and emotions under control as I finally got a strike and a fourth frame you know kind of close the gap to one pin there it says 11 but it's actually only one you know I'm pretty sure in this frame I keep the ball I changed to on the right lane I'm pretty sure I keep that in my hand yep I do you know notice the layout the pin pretty much in the palm of my hand the CG way down the extra hole right below the CG which makes the ball Rev a little earlier for me but lets me control the back end a little bit more didn't feel like I threw that one really great but I was fortunate just to wind up hitting the pocket and you know flat 10 just the ball didn't charge enough on the back end to get the 10 out that's one thing I've always prided myself on with spare shooting you know I feel like I'm one of the better spare shooters out here you don't see me miss a whole lot of spares and you know like I say in this tournament the US Open you need to fill frames because those opens can come at any time Michael's got the wild hairdo you go on today you know so that's Michael what a great competitor and doesn't really care you know ooh see there I mean you know like I say the opens can come at any time he threw a great shot left for 9:00 on a really really good shot you know and it's something you feel bad for the guy but then again it's like hey I got to get up and take advantage of it so you know he's denying things wigglin he almost got it out bad break for him good break for me you know like I say in this tournament man you have to fill frames if you don't fill the frames then you're probably not going to win almost got to the left of the 4-pin just not enough so there I went from a eleven pin deficit to a two pin lead so you know it's like I say this tournaments a tough tournament to win it's filling frames keeping your mind on what you need to do and not worrying about what your opponent does Michael still electing to throw the same ball I mean he's hit the pocket four times in a row with it five times in a row so you know it's kind of tough to change you know he reacts to that last one another good shot by him hit the pocket again at six pocket shots in a row for him you know I've gone high wants high twice and I've hit the pocket the other three so you know if it's something that it's really tough to sometimes change bowling balls when you keep it in the pocket especially in the title game you know you don't want to like try and give anything away and it's kind of cool you know because neither one of us really gave anything away we stayed right neck and neck with each other and it's – it's it was just a fun title match to bowl that's probably my worst shot today you know I got that ball in a little bit never really got it to the right you know pretty pretty even match today we're going on right now that ball just never got to the right hooked early just a just a bad shot missed a batch out I was fortunate not to leave a split there fortunately I did make the spare and you know stayed even with what am I thinking I'm thinking the 5 out of 6 times what do I have to do on this right lane to make it happen you'll see in the next couple shots what I do you know this is the lane I have the utmost confidence on I just I didn't worry about this Lane too much it was one of my set up lane to her you know the first three games I struck out in the 9th and 10th to win or through the first one in the 10th to win so you know I have a lot of confidence on the left lane here there we go you know a little light hit but still you know I'm thinking that the the lighter hits at Carroll air lanes a little better than the the flush hits the pins flew around a little bit more you know they just mixed really good together patent people over slab off we're still even Michael can take a 10-10 lead right here if he if he throws a strike you know I know I know he's thinking come on man if I can throw a strike here I've got him I just know I've got him look at that throws another good shot Oh you know that's kind of like a little light mixer get to get the light messenger backwards but you know that's that's what I say in this tournament you gotta fill frames and you got to get the brakes and take advantage of what you get he was kind of surprised at that one you know look at his reaction is like oh geez what's going on I got a break so you know it's still you know and got a got to stay focused and take advantage of the break that he just got you know I'm I'm thinking he's thinking right now that God if he throws another one I really put the pressure on great shot the ball the ball just seemed to they could it seemed like it rolled out right before it hit the pocket and lost its drive into the pocket and I'm pretty sure that's why he left the flat ten right there so you know that's another bad break for him and another cook break for me but you know now I'm sitting on the bench going gosh if I can get up and throw it double I've really put the pressure on him and he's gonna have to have to perform in the ninth and tenth frame which I really didn't expect him to miss the spare either because like I say Michael's one of the best care shooters we see yet to throw two strikes in a row no I was looking over at Chris Schlemmer right before Michael shout espera and I said you think I need to move and he says yeah I think you need to move at least two and so I decided yeah I'm gonna move if I go light and at least I have a chance at the spare and that's something that you you think about these tournaments you don't want to go through the nose and leave a big split and just hand the tournament to the guy or to your opponent might say I did move like two boards left I left my target the same the lodge and taking a little more time now little deeper breath a little more relaxed when I let the ball go look at the open hand and yes I got that light mixer again and you know like I say it's breaks it's the breaks filling frames and and winning this tournament III will say there is some degree of luck in this but there's some degree of skill in this too as you can see people ever go off thing but you know it's fun you know because people at least know how I feel and what's going on in my head now I'm thinking here of boy strike right here he's really got to perform in the ninth and tenth frame and I'm pretty sure that you know a lot of pressure but you know as good as Michael is I knew he was going to perform after three consent that it go tucked it in got the light mixer again like I say those light mixers in it Carol your lanes are very beneficial they seem to carry a little bit better in the flush shots and boy I was thinking this is mine again it's already mine gotta take advantage and I stare down a kid that rooted against me yeah piss me off for you but he reminds to strike out in the ninth and tenth to put pressure on me and he's yet to change bowling balls he has a lot of confidence in the ball he's throwing yet another great shot ringing ten that's that's like the worst break he could have got right there you know because that gives me a 22 pin lead right at the moment so I'm thinking well gosh a first strike in the 10th you're you're a winner I'm sitting on the bench going putting my head in my towel looking at Tracy just trying to talk to her a little bit making sure she well she's keeping me calm a little bit giving me a budget you know it's you know it's just something that we did before now Michaels really got to strike out in the 10th frame to put any pressure on me whatsoever you know even though if he doesn't strike out I still need the mark in the 10th frame to win but you know I think markings a little easier than throwing a strike you know especially in the US Open you know you look at me now and I'm trying not to watch but as soon as he lets go the ball my head comes up and I'm watching the ball roll down the lane just to see what he does what a great shot right there ma'am found in a pit couldn't throw it any better I'm thinking all right I just need the mark right now you know he I know he's thinking god I got to throw this one to make him come up in a 10th frame and do something great you know I'm just sitting there going what am I gonna do what am I gonna do you know I in the 10th frame I do take a little more time in my 10th frame then I have all all day long you know and it's just something that you think about you know it's something you can't get out of your head right at the moment Michael gave that one a little extra loft didn't get the ring ten slap the ten out now I have to I have to at least nine spare strike in the 10th frame and you know it's every bowlers dream to have to get up in the 10th frame and throw one strike to win even even by a pin or by 20 pins it really doesn't matter it's every bowlers dream to get up and do this and Michael got up and performed in the 10th frame just like I expected him to Manny struck out 4 4 to 14 and it's what a great finish he had and man it's it's my adrenaline is going right now and I'm I'm trying to keep it under control rapist was been you know Michael throws 10 in the pit right there and there the showed emotion you know okay okay and here I'm just on my adrenaline is going you know I'm looking and I'm taking my time I'm thinking about you know I told Kirk I said you might as well give me my second one and I was thinking give me my second rear AK not my second fine slip for taking too much time but you know that's just something that no big deal no big deal I would didn't worry about it actually I think it loosened me up a little bit calm me down a little bit more and let me focus on what I really needed to do now I throw this ball and I let it go and oh man that's ten and a pit I win there's no big deal there's the deep breath relaxation what a great shot o-ring in ten I couldn't believe it I was like oh my god that was so such a good shot there was no way I was gonna wring ten on there cheer-off my hand I had the open hand going and it just really didn't really didn't finish as strong as I thought it was I'm gonna just happen to come in a little light ring ten no big deal just make the spare okay this might be the best shot of my career I've ever thrown coming up in the syllable here you know you're supposed to be nervous in these situations I was not nervous at all I was very calm cool collective I knew exactly what I needed to do and I want you to watch my push away to see how it goes out instead of down it goes out and that was key to that shot it went out instead of down so I knew I threw it good when I let it go the deep breath again I was waiting for the solid eight to tie but man that that was the greatest shot I think I've thrown in my entire career right there and then I started yelling at the kid and of course the infamous who do you think you are I am came out but you know I I didn't really care at the moment it was my fifth US Open title and it was just it was really cool for me to do that and it was so fun and man that might be one of the greatest greatest US Open matches in history you know I I felt really bad for Michael he bowled such a great game the only miss that I don't think he missed the pocket wants out of the whole time but you know what it it's still one of the greatest moments in my life I know it's not one of Michael's but you know you always take the good with the bad and thank God that was not double stick tape on that eagle because I probably would hold it right off so but you know it was something I couldn't believe that I just did that and I wanted to I went ahead at Don Carter and my dad Dick Weber for four you know instead of just for you US Opens or for all-star tournaments that they used to call it it's very satisfying to me that I passed on Carter and Dick Weber for five US Opens and be the first one to do it and that's what I live for I just live for the US Open it's one of the greatest tournaments ever it's the hardest tournament to win and when you win it five times you know you have a great here you

That’s probably the Storm Frantic that you have in the 2nd Frame 🙂.

I wanna let bowling spectators know that all white man pba bowlers are bitches who complain about rooting and stuff like that when they could just bowl and enjoy the sport if you’re the guy who gets singled out for not liking a bowler or their performance, don’t let it get to you.

Is that a golf glove he wears? I've seen it in multiple tournaments..just wondering because for me that would feel so weird on a bowling ball.

Don't forget he weighs 140 pounds wringing wet. Many kids could kick his ass and throw him down the lane, with hook. Shut up Webster you prawn.

Can someone explain why he changed his push away in the last throw. It worked but I don't understand why he made that choice.

Not a fan of Weber's. Talk so highly of himself and how the young guys dont scare him yet half of them are way better than him. Lacks good sportsmanship and talks more than he should.

It's so funny, I used to bowl in a triples scratch against Pete and his wife. People just would give him shit all the time, in a joking way of course. But it was funny to see him so quiet and personable and nice to talk to from what I saw on TV before I went to college down in St. Louis.
