    Surely the NHS is only "free" to British tax payers? Visitors will be charged.

    Great video, Aly.
    I've just returned from a 6 months period in UK (I'm Brazilian) and I needed medical help due to a strong paint in my right knee. I've searched for help in NHS (Nottingham's one) and was very well attended. I needed to pay 50 £, but I think it was fair. I don't pay taxes for that and the doctor and staff were great! 😍 Love this country!

    >>> goes to the UK to treat crabs
    >>> dials 999, hello can I get a free ride to the nearest hospital please? You wouldn't want another hundred infected, would you? It's st Patrick's, soooo…
    >>> doctor suspects lupus, says it's okay and swallows a handful of paracetamol washing it down with vodka, "don't worry sweetie, let the body heal itself, apply your care down there"
    >>> medical tourism is osom

    From this video I realised that in UK people are being self-medicated by health services.

    I’m extremely grateful to NHS! I had a stroke in London when I was in an student exchange program (I’m Brazilian) and was very well treated at the hospital. I’m alive due to the people from Charing Cross hospital 🙏🏼

    NHS is shit.
    Been in UK for 10 years, still go back to my country for everything health related.
    GPs are useless, never refer you to specialists to keep the GP surgery budget, and overall don't give a damn about you as an individual patient.
    Been truly fucked over by the NHS on a multitude of occasions. If you can avoid it, please do for your own sake.

    Thanks Aly, you were right! All my questions got answered! Our system in Austria works exactly like yours in the UK, by taxation. Good for me, I would have been broke otherwise. I had one surgery because of a broken shinbone and another because of hernia and some smaller sport injuries (I used to play ice hockey and football when I was younger). Thank you for choosing this topic. It was very good to know.

    We can only buy paracetamol and such from a chemist's here in Germany. Shops similar to Boots are not allowed to sell them here.

    The reason why so many Spanish nurses migrate to the U.K is because they´re treated better there, of course the salary is much better and the most important thing is workload that nurses receive in Spain is abusive compared to the U.K. The Spanish government is making more and more cuts in health and that is why every time it employs fewer nurses. Welcome to Spain.

    In Austria we don't have one emergency number, we have three: 133 for the police, 122 for the fire brigade and 144 for the ambulance. Of course, the international call 112 works as well. But it is not very common.

    This doctor seems so nice and humble, I'd be glad to be seen by a professional like him (if necessary). He also looks like the character Shaun Murphy from The Good Doctor series, maybe because the actor is British as well.
