Hey, this is Adam Silverstein on behalf of
Expertvillage.com and today I am going to teach you guys how properly fit your rollerblades
Rollerblades feel a lot like sneakers and they come in size ranging from 1-13 so when
you get your rollerblades you probably want to base them off what your sneaker size is.
If you look in a rollerblade there are two main parts that you are going to keep those
blades on those feet. You have your buckles and your laces. So now what is important when
putting this Rollerblade on is to make sure both the buckles and the laces fits snug against
your feet. Alright the first thing you are going to do is get your foot deep into the
skate until you feel your sole flat against the bottom of it. You are going to pull the
toe in tight against your leg inside the buckle and the top in as tight as you can. Make sure
it is really pressing up against your leg and you feel snug inside that. Snap your buckle
on the side down and you will be good to go. Now looking at the bottom we have the laces
here. Pull them as tight as you can and tie them just you would a shoe. We are going to
get real tight again so that foot is comfortable inside the skate.

i hear you have to lean onto the knife edge (outside) of your foot rather then the inside otherwise it will eventually hurt.

everyone has his own style ..
but still you should have your skate pretty tight on your leg , so it will be an " extension of your foot " ,not just something hanging of your foot . i personally like it a little loose to but when i want really good performance then i tight it up as much as possible

Hey bro, I just bought a pair of K2 rollerblades, size 13 (my shoe size). After I tighten them and stand up, my ankles do not feel as secure as I think they should. Almost to the point where if I lost balance while standing say on grass, I could break an ankle. I'm a pretty big guy, 6'3, 235 lbs, but would you say this is normal, and what could you suggest? Thanks man.

dude, what's your issue? He's just giving information for beginners who don't know. If you don't like it don't watch it, but there are probably other people who really need to see this information because they honestly don't know.

Expert Village does not indicate it's information for expert-level people. It simply indicates that it's a group of people who are experts at something or have a vast knowledge of something passing on the information, knowledge, and tips that they find useful to other people who are learning. If you were young and had just gotten your first pair of skates you wouldn't know how to put them on right I'm sure. Any other stupid questions?

Hardly! You have to lace them much tighter for ankle and heel support, you have to buckle them, and you have to recognize when they're loose. If they just said "put 'em on like shoes", people would be hurting their ankles. This way it at least shows you have to lace them up and buckle them tight for proper support.
