Today we’re going to learn how to ollie. We’re going to take this in a few steps. The first thing that people usually do When they’re learning how to ollie Is they go and find a good crack. So go find a crack Put your back wheels in the crack. This just helps to steady your board So you’re not rolling around everywhere. Now the second thing is your foot position. Your front foot is going to be slanted On the board like this sideways. And your back foot is going to be on your
tail With the ball of your foot at the edge. So your front foot is sideways And your back foot is with the ball of your
foot on the tail. Now the first thing is popping your tail. This is the first of the three steps to the
ollie. Popping your tail just like that. So get used to that for a minute And then get ready to do the second step Which is going to be sliding your foot up
the board. I want you to pay special attention to the
knee And look at how the knee moves To make that foot slide in the direction like
that. This is what gives you your lift And really what makes the entire ollie happen. So after you pop your tail You’re going to slide your foot up. The most important thing to learning how to
ollie Is getting the timing correct between these
two parts. Part 1 right here and part 2, that slide. It’s almost simultaneous But you really have to get that action Between those two steps down. Now the third step is just putting your feet
down On the bolts and landing. It’s pretty simple, self-explanatory. So you get that step 1 and that step 2 down And then you’re going to roll around And just do ollies everywhere. This is really a basic fundamental trick And you’re going to be doing it a lot So you might as well get really good at it
now. Go to braillskateboarding.com Send me your best ollie attempt. I’ll do some voice-over on your video And send it back to you And see if I can help you out with your ollies. Don’t forget to subscribe for future videos.

If Aarons really cared about skateboarding as much as he said he does then why would he make u pay to learn and I get that u don't have to but it but why is he saying let's get everyone to skate if he does truly want us to learn then why would he make us pay.

I have this one problem where whenever I try to do an ollie, I move back a little because I have to shift my weight to the tail in order to pop the board. This is turn leaves me behind the board and I can't land the ollie. What am I doing wrong?

Im a beginner skater, and I want to learn the Ollie, like you said its the first "trick" to learn. I'm watching your videos and you always say, and from what I can see, the tail of the skate touches the ground in order to pop it up. So here comes the 2 questions: do I have to smash my right feet on the tail ( I'm regular) to let it bump on the ground? Because if I just push it, it simply dosent pop up. And 2nd question : why there are so many videos with ppl doing Ollies and their tail dosent even touch the ground. It's like the board it's attached to their feet. How's that possible? I hope for answers! Thx a lot ur great Aaron! Sry for my English
