what's up guys kevin here from snowboardprocamp calm in this video I'm going to teach you how to hit a jump on your snowboard learning how to jump will get you riding in the terrain park and is the first step to learning tricks I brake jumping down into four parts the approach takeoff in the air and landing your approach up to the jump sets your speed and lines you up for the takeoff do a few turns on your way to the jump to set your speed then point your board straight and flat towards the lip if you're unsure of how much speed you need for the jump watch other people hit it and see how many turns they take before pointing their board straight a good takeoff from the lip will set you up balance in the air you want to actually pop your board off the lip this will get your snowboard into the air with some height popping evenly off both feet will keep your snowboard level in the air in the air you want to keep yourself compact and balanced bend your knees to keep your snowboard level make sure that your hands are over your nose and tail with your head looking straight over your front shoulder this will keep your snowboard pointed straight from there you can start spotting your landing get ready for the landing but extending your legs slightly then absorb the landing by bending your knees right out straight followed by a turn onto your heel edge turning onto your heels will control your speed and let you see any obstacles that may be in the way prepare for hitting a jump in the park by first practicing jumping off the flat ground and off flips outside the park practicing outside the park means there will be less risk of getting hurt and will really build your confidence once you have jumping mastered outside the park then you'll be ready for a small park jump leave me any questions you have about jumping in the comment box and tell me what video should I make next thanks for supporting snowboardprocamp check us out on our website and Facebook for more snowboarding tips

Hey I'm super confused. It looked like you just rode right off the jump them bent your knees. Do you not have to pop off the tail like a skateboard when you do jumps?

Great videos dude. My big concern is letting the board run flat, popping up, and landing back down without catching an edge during the setup and landing. Suggestions?

On which level does your butt needs to be, by bending your knees I mean. Does it need to be a little behind the board or vertically above the board?

I've hit a jump before and started to roll unintentionally toward my back and just landed flat on my back, how could I prevent that or correct it in the air if it happens again?

I have an issue where I try and pop evenly on both feet but when I go off the jump my board and feet go behind me as opposed to having my knees move upward towards my chest. I think it may be because I'm popping too early. I've heard that you should pop when the front foot is already off the edge of the jump. Any tips? Thanks!

I have a huge tendency to turn in the air so my board is sideways and my body is looking down the mountain. Any tips?

Thx but could you tell me more about how to land it? I often catch an edge and fall when landing. Do you land flat or on an edge?

thanks for the tip. Quick question – you're getting a lot of lift off flat ground. I'm def not getting at the height level. I thinking its my boots being too heavy. Could it be that or could it be that my approach to jumping is not correct?

Hi can you quickly explain how to pop off the lip. I think I'm doing something wrong as I can't seem to generate height off the jump or on flats. Thanks

Every time I jump I always land with the tail first, and then the nose of my board lands in contact with the snow. I'm not sure how to fix this. Am I leaning back on the take off? Is this even a big problem to begin with? Smaller jumps were easier, but when I hit larger ones with a steeper landing, it's a lot more apparent.

I'm having a problem when doing jumps. When a jump has a bit of kick, I always seem to lose balance backwards and feel like i'm going to fall on my back. Could someone give me and advice? I started snowboarding again from a big 9 years break because I broke bot of my front arm bones on a jump back in the days. So I get very anxious when doing jumps at the moment…I get anxious everytime I hit the jump kicker
