hey what's up guys today I'm eating shoe up here in the Whistler train park we got a bit of a mix-up I went to black home he came to Whistler we just got on the wrong Mountain so he's on the peak-to-peak on his way so we'll see him soon we will hug fountain he'll then woohoo she got a helmet you have any tricks that you're thinking of doing today um okay let me work on the 360 because I I don't like spin would be something frontside or backside ah let me say full side oh me too all right good ha ha ha ha it's a doozy and probably a full sized shifty jump oh yeah I was thinking that too all right front side shift is something on the box yeah I bought a broad Ford slide because I haven't done many this way we could practice okay so we're working on three tricks front 360 front shifty and front boards so on this lap we're going to go through it's like a warm up lot and we're going to do all the things that you can do to prepare it for those tricks so for the front 360 going to do some front 180s off the jump for the French fifty in the air gonna do some front Shifty's on the snow on the way in let's go down warm up lob let's do it got a box coming up so we're going to ride on 5050 then twist at the front boardslide dat voice got a few more places to practice so try some more front 180s on the jobs and then another ride on box two front porch light alright warm up flat continues a good place you get your front side 360s going is just on the sides like off the hips off the side hits so there's a pretty good corner down here can ride up spin 360 get those spins feeling comfortable again cool so I feel like it's all coming together the front my knees are feeling nice and balanced I feel like I'm getting the speed right for the jumps and a couple of front Shifty's in there as well which felt good so okay first trick gonna go for the front shifty for the front shifty you're twisting your body in the air so what I think about is my back foot comes all the way out to the left and then my front arm is coming across my body cut it towards my back foot so I'm getting my body really twisted in the air so now I'm gonna ride down and hit the box and for the frontside boardslide but this time I'm twisting the opposite way so I'm twisting so that my board is facing backwards so what I think about for getting the twist on this is now my back hand and my back foot are going in the opposite direction for the front 360 I'm thinking about a toe turn followed by a slight heel turn up the lip so I can pop off my heel edge and then yeah like shoe says using your arms and hips to get the rotation going and then when I'm in the air just spotting my landing and writing it out yeah I feel a lot better I think it helped too cuz that jump add a bit more pop to it so that's fun but let's go do some more try this find another spot to do front front shifty front board front side three this is one of the goods the practice before hitting the box with a frontside boardslide okay so take off your board and put it on a flat gun okay and just get on it now I'm gonna I'm gonna hit three jumps in a row and walk on a frontside spin all the way down and I'm gonna do frontside 180 as prep for this frontside 360 we're gonna do a frontside shifty on a jump so that tips for this is how much you can rotate your hips don't focus on too much rotating your snowboard but your hips all right so try to face your tummy or if you off on your shoulder forward then call their shoulder in there you can easily twist your hips in there go okay I made it I think I can stretch my hips more then I can show more stuff okay I'm gonna hit the box and I'm gonna try frontside boardslide oh she would have known that landing yeah I know you know um I think I I can stand my head straight on the on the box so I can go nicely on the box but I think my head to go towards my toe edge when I get off the box that's why I land on the toe edge and just slip it down when I land I'm gonna try standing keep standing my head straight all the way until the landing I'm gonna try frontside 360 and I want to focusing on timing so I'm gonna try how much I can wait for takeoff if I start moving too early then my body leaning inside my body rotate Ollie so I can't pop properly when I take off I try to wait for the timing which standing straight as much as possible then I can pop directory the ground less rotation but the mop-up and the easy thing that's perfect that's really good yes yeah looks solid yeah I think next time I can let pop more you know I I can get a more air time and the spinning it's much easier yeah I made it but uh I added I added pop so the spin goes nicely was it too much air time I know yeah you know so as I said if the balance and the popping when I take off it's good I don't need a much rotation right but I think I added too much rotation for it too much rotations yeah so you can almost spin a 540 yeah i know-oh-oh yeah so sure on the last one you kind of landed so heavy so what do you have to change for this one I'm trying to land with my border flat not like landing on the toy like the last bad I felt so I'm gonna stand my head straight all the way down to the landing decide so yeah perfect watching I think I did right yeah I think so yeah looked really good cool guys so a quick recap of the day we got the front shifty from four sides in front 360s going did a warm-up run where we did just a few things to get warmed up get our bodies moving some easier tricks to get started shoes showed us that really cool way to practice for front boards just by jumping onto our snowboard on the ground that was awesome so yeah really fun day I hope these tricks will help you guys let us know if you have any questions about frontside tricks down in the comments and maybe next time we'll do backside shifty backside boards backside 360 alright so thanks for watching guys thank you very much thanks you cuddle and see you guys in the next video soon

I really like Shu's style of instruction. He organically makes mistakes and then humbly deduces the best way to improve. Keep it up dudes!!!

your doing backside boardslides, I dont know why your calling them frontside, they're not.
front side shifty, front side 3's, backside boardslides.
it also helps to slow down the maneuver, which you did a few times.
great job and I'm sure your helping others

Kevin, NEVER show the view down from the peak-to-peak AGAIN! It brings back memories of how high that sucker is!

I'm learning jumping front side 180 off groomers with ollies. But with park jumps is it with even pop with both legs, or can you use the ollie version. Ive haven't been landing them well.

What's your setup? Looks like a burton process. You look like you have similar build with me, but you're moving your board so effortlessly. I'm 5'10" 170 lbs and my 157 proto HD feels like a heavy behemoth (good at speed though), so I'm trying to change my deck to a Bataleon Boss 154, and I can't decide whether 154 will be too short for 40% park, 20% groomers and 40% playing around the slope

can we get a video of you and your buddies just shredding it to the max? You're obviously focused mostly on beginner tricks on this channel but it would be sick to just see an edit of you guys really pushing it to the limits.

For doing these kind tricks, how would you recommend setting up bindings? I'm at about this level but I've only just bought my first board so I'm not sure how to set it up

I love that you did both styles of riding in this video. I am personally goofy so I am lucky enough that you are. But the fact that your friend rode regular helped other boarders as well.

Do you prefer riding with rocker or camber? Also what do you do for a living in the summer (and maybe winter) because I can't imagine you can make a living of these.

I can do front and back 3's on a skateboard on flatground without pivoting, so after a few days of snowboarding I was doing back 3's on flatground on the mountain and doing really good tail butters, but the front 3's were fucking my day up! I know I just started but I cannot jump off my heal edge for the love of anything. It's like when I do back 3's I can scoop and whip the board around like a skateboard, but on a front 3 I can't "pop" worth a damn. Even a flatground front 180 looks more like a 90 degree frontside powerslide into a 90 degree hop jump.
