This is Kyle Hovercamp at Skatechurch in Portland,
Oregon and on behalf of Expert Village this is a tutorial of how to do a boardslide on
your skateboard. In this clip I’m going to give you some tips on how to do a good boardslide.
The first thing are tricks that you should already now how to do before you attempt to
do a boardslide. The first trick is ollie you have to be pretty good to do all these
before you attempt to do a boardslide. The second trick is frontside and backside 180’s.
The reason why you want to have a frontside and backside 180’s is so your comfortable
and used to turning your body cause you have to turn your body 90 degrees to get onto the
boardslide. Other than that boardslides and no slides are really good and easy beginner
tricks. So start off with those and get those down the things you might want to start on
are curbs to practice on and then work your way higher and higher. You have curbs and
flatbars are good things to start boardslides on another thing is don’t go for things that
are to high unless your really good. Don’t ever do a hand rail that’s above your waist
unless your crazy or you want to get hurt. Generally you want to keep your speed up balanced
and commit cause that’s the only way your going to land on a boardslide is to commit.
