quite often family self dreaming and the ultimate holiday unfortunately our Patrese quite often the only place you can find to escape in the backyard until now I've got a great idea let's have a little think about your dream retreat got a barbecue area maybe a bar somewhere to sit down and a roof over your head cause it's ideal if the bulk of the construction is already done for you it's second Tayna the perfect platform for the festivai barbecue shack you can get a brand new painted and delivered container for around $3,000 but they often come up secondhand online for as little as 500 bucks first job is to mock up and cut a couple of dirty great big holes in the side of you container service always start with your bottom cut then to the sides and finish with the top that way gravity is part of your team seeing is how much your mates will benefit from the end result it's not a bad idea to get him to give you a hand couple of sticks timber they're on there perfect safety device to ensure that this big sheet of Steel falls on the inside and not out where we're standing whew what a result these pieces on the front and back are effectively an architrave that goes around the opening they'll also provide some wear to fix on timber shutters later but for now on tech screen nose and face and then running a timber reveal between them that ties it all together well the whole shacks open-wheel ventilated but you want to be able to shut things down and lock it up when you're not using an also provide a little bit of shelter for your mates when they're sitting at the bat I'm thinking shutters in order to make a sheet of floor I look like a series of hundred mill boards all joined together aka old-school shutters I'm just gonna run a groove at a hundred mil Spacey last thing I want perfectly straight lines all the way along nobody no good I'm after rustic so to get that I'm just wiggling the play fair bit actually as I cut each line that way I get the illusion of aged individual boards rub some sandpaper around a block and get right into those grooves to round off the edges and then black undercoat and I'll show you why in a minute make the floor look a bit more like shadows I'm gonna throw a timber frame around the outside of course all these timbers brand-new to make it look aged I'm gonna distress it using a belt sander it's pilot black so we can match the plywood and then screw it on it might seem a little bit weird painting whatever black on the coat but that's all part of my aging process time for Villa Magic friendly boots fifty years old aha not shabby chic but shouting Shack this barbecue shack is begging for a deck and that is exactly what it's gonna get while the paint dries first job to cut up some joists the floating deck is 1,200 millimeters wide and you want to keep in mind that your maximum spacing for floor joists is 450 milk I've ended up with 395 inside that which is great now I just want to pack up the corners to the height on to decking boards height and that leaves me with a nice finished height of the top decking board the beauty of this solid construction is that the whole thing is portable it's hard to be perfect before exiling in Queensland but I've already got some great ideas for you and your mates now before I put down the decking I'm going to do a little bit of framing within the subfloor frame and that is for the seating arrangements those will be pretty impressive too I'm starting with a simple frame that surrounds a timber post that gives me a good fixing point below the timber deck the subprimes done the post for the seat Aaron and now it's time for a bit of decking I'm using treated pine screws for a tree to climb deck a great teepee use when pre drilling your holes using all in one bouncing drill bit so peeps of time and nails like a perfect spaces for your deck boards time for a bar top now I'm just marking out for a couple of horns that way the bar actually sit into the opening and also wrap around the face will look really nice I'm using hard wood this purse is 220 white two 20s plenty for your forearm in a class something called pardon my he thirsty enter all I imagine haha not yet we got a long way to go and keep watching consumed I'll be blocking through our BBQ bitch

would be great if they didnt ignore some basic waterproofing concepts. the head of that opening will rot everything out in less than a year.

In less than 2 minutes this Aussie annoyed the crap out of me, trying too hard to be enthusiastic, or whatever he is trying to convey.
And then only did I read some of the comments and noticed lots of other people also find him annoying.

Those little pieces of wood won't even begin to support that deck. It will sink right down to the joists after the first rain. At least 6 -1'x1' paver stones would be a good start.

I have spent months researching into constructing shiping container houses and discovered a fantastic website at Magic Container Plans (google it if you're interested)
