I'm a ski racer turning freeskier from Stratton, VT and I watched this video before landing my first backflip first try!

Ignore all the things about safety- you don’t need to do them onto air bag or into water just send them in park- I just through my first ever attempt tonight on a park jump and stomped it perfectly- you just gotta send it

This guy is a joke. If you have had any correct training you will know that you never swing your arms. That leads to sloppy style and backflips that don’t look clean at all. He also never talks about driving your hips which is one of the most important points. He says that you need to drive with your toes which is incorrect. Driving your hips leading to you not having to tuck and allows you to float. It also allows you to spot your landing earlier.

I'll never forget the feeling of pulling off my.first backflip. First attempt NAILED it…second, um, not so much, lmao.

Not enough speed and came up short catching my tips on the knuckle and yard sale city (mind you I was doing this on 195s 15yrs ago, lol)
    Damn, now I feel old

I threw a couple on an air bag back in 8th grade (2010), I was already good at them on Trampolines. Then Sophomore year I just went for it off a park jump, I was so scared of landing on my head that I hucked it as hard as I could. As a result, I did a perfect 1 and 1/3 backflip straight to my butt. If I hadn't extended at the end I would have gone straight back around a second time to my head, Lol. Hit my ass pretty hard, thought I pooped myself, (but I didn't). Then I started doing it more and got okay at it. now that I'm back into skiing some 5 years later I wanna get back into it. Good tutorial! We just got some powder in Southern California this weekend, hopefully I can huck one into some soft stuff and get my mojo back.
