it's the final major of the year we're in the final round at the PGA Championship Tiger Woods and Brooks koepka chasing the Wanamaker trophy we could she started though with Rory McIlroy going out early this is McIlroy on the 9th hole and he's off the green this his third shot and it's curling and it's tracking and it's tracking right in and we're in McIlroy a little fist pump there then at the 11th Rory McIlroy from the middle of nowhere coming back up and onto the green and McIlroy amazingly saves par from there he shot 70 it was minus 2 overall Ben Kern is the only PGA teaching professional to make the cut and he finished higher than makkal wood knocks in that birdie putt at the 2nd he shot 70 have finished 3-under overall Tiger Woods trying to make his move up the leaderboard this at the 2nd hole and what a wonderful approach this is for Tiger Woods spins it right back and Tiger able to get a birdie there to move to 9-under then at the next hole the par-3 3rd a great tee shot from Woods watch the divot as this one lands so close to going right in the hole he spins it back close as well and Woods able to tap that one in to get to 10-under par now at the 8th hole he started this whole poorly his driver was wayward didn't hit a fairway on the front nine but boy could he scramble in this opening 9 Tiger Woods you see him there in the gallery his third shot was up in this green side bunker this a par 5 and Tiger Woods able to tap that one in for an unlikely birdie then on to number 9 again in the gallery and just this one around the trees and watched the resilience Mike hurt somehow gets it up on the green and woods up on that green looking good as he knocks this one right in the heart to go to 11 under par tee shot 32 on the opening nine more from Tiger later third round leader Brooks kept responded to the tiger roars he birdied at number 8 then at number 9 kept a nice approach out of the bunker set up his third straight birdie to move to 14 under par now Justin Thomas the defending champion mixed results with his putter he birdied two of the first five holes this is at number seven to move to 11-under par and he looked like he was in it there Thomas looking good here at number 9 watch this approach shot really really tight up on the green you could see him eyeing that one but up on the green this is the story of Justin Thomas's round a look at birdie and it goes off line hit a little bump there and now coming back for par watch the lip out here so close but it doesn't go in and Justin Thomas finished at 10-under overall Thomas Peters from Belgium put some pressure on the leaders here he is chipping in for birdie at 11 he got it to 12-under at one point before falling back he finished at 10-under about 45 year-old Stewart Cink his best major finish since the winning of the British Open in 2009 forty-five-year-old Stewart Cink was 11-under par in the tournament Adam Scott only in the field thanks to a special exemption and contending here at the 10th he drains the long birdie putt then were at 13 down a stroke to kept cahier Scott's tee shot now the pin placement is way on the right of the green watch this one land how close it is to the edge there but Scott just drilled it tight now kefka firing right back at it and kept car goes tight as well really courting danger there on the tee shot but it was wonderful now up on the green Scott for a momentary tie of the late and he doesn't drill in that but TEPCO trying to respond here he misses so with five holes to go these two are tied for the lead meanwhile Tigers stalking his prey at the 11th his long birdie putt looks like it's headed in but watch how close it is just a third of a little more and that one's in and look at the pain on Tiger Woods face Tiger then responding on 12 and 13 this the approach at the 12th from 140 yards out and Tiger eyeing this thing down trying to win his 15th major he got that one close he's able to Ferdie there then at 13 Tiger again looking down a birdie effort and woods you see a tracking tracking tracking and Tiger Woods gets to 13 under par at the 14th after getting to 13 under par this one is for par and it lifts out so close so a bogey for Tiger Woods hasn't going in the wrong direction so at 15 needing to turn that momentum back in his favor this is Tiger Woods with the approach shot and he is eyeing it he likes it and he should Tiger Woods gets it close he thought he had a chance at Duncan that one home but he would get a birdie at 15 now at 17 and on the tee box he's just one shot back of the lead this the easiest hole on the course and Tiger knows he missed an opportunity here pushing his tee shot right of the creek in fact and on 17 he could only manage a par when he needed birdie or better so up on 18 Tiger Woods manages to give the fans more or thrill as he drills that birdie putt he finished with a 64 that's his best final round in a major ever but it was Brooks Kefka doing it all afternoon this the 15th hole just a pure putt right in the heart for a birdie then up on 16 T keep your eyes on this tee shot par-3 230 yards plus and he just stripes this one right down the middle the bull chases back towards the flag and that gives kefka an opportunity for back-to-back birdies late in the round at the PGA Championship emails that one as well then on to 18 Brooks koepka just tapping in he's twice a US Open champion and now he's the PGA champion three times a major winner Brooks koepka placed the Wanamaker trophy claiming victory by two shots over Tiger Woods who had his best finish in a major since the 2009 PGA Championship

I think this is about as good as Woods is going to play at his age. If he stays healthy, he'll compete in most tournaments strictly on his natural talents and probably place several top 10 finishes. But there's just too many good, young players on the tour and they'll always be at least a couple of strokes, if not more, better. I don't know if a man of Wood's massive ego will be able to accept that but it's unfortunately, the reality of the situation.
