hey everyone so I got something really interesting and really fun to experience I am in New Mexico and I've made it to White Sands I guess it's White Sands National Monument you can see right up here this is just the start of it that's all sand dunes I wanted to start this video early so you can experience what it's like to really drive into this area because it just it becomes more and more and more filled with sand it looks like you're driving through snow one of the funnest things you can do here is bring a saucer sled put some wax on it and actually sled down these giant dunes so I'm gonna be doing that which means you're gonna be able to experience that too alright let's get on the road and I'll show you what it's like here in white sands you know it almost looks like I'm driving somewhere up north and it snowed look at this but in reality it's 75 degrees out look at this goes right over the road yeah there's a bunch of people all up on top of these dunes enjoying I guess some of them have snowboards some of them have sleds or saucers this is so funny this is so cool I wonder if at times they have to actually plow the road and look to see there's some people up there enjoying the dunes best thing about this experience in this place is that it's accessible to everyone you don't need a four-wheel drive vehicle anything can come out here anybody any car and even grandma on the wheelchair if you can get her out here and this is such a great experience boy it's desolate out here the last time I was here this this was full of cars so it's a very very empty day today which is fantastic by comparing the size with the cars you can see how big these things are these are huge dunes I mean some of these have to be 40 feet tall I have found the perfect hill for me and I have been carrying around this saucer the sled for months in my truck because I knew I was gonna be coming here so before I slid oh you know what I forgot you have to wax the bottom of this thing the last time I was here I didn't have any wax and it didn't go that well did it wasn't that fast but I do have wax all right got my candle for the wax and now we are going up this sand dune here I know I'm gonna be getting a worse of old shoes because I know they're gonna be getting full of sand it's ready it's ready getting on my shoes but that's part of the experience all right look at this just looks like sand as far as you could see until you get to those mountains over there we could see the road what's beautiful are those waves that the wind make I think that's so interesting you could see the footprints in dog prints of everybody who was here earlier the moment you've all been waiting for I'm gonna try it where's the best place to go down I guess right here it's a long way down so this is the candle so this is the candle that I brought they say this makes these things fly so we'll see place your bits down here come back for that I don't know I don't know if this is gonna work I mean I see people doing it but it just doesn't ever see in Christmas vacation when Chevy Chase waxes up his his saucer that's what I feel like right now here we go it's not working but to sit back all right all right all right let's moving it works it's just not that amazing maybe I'll try a different Hill let's see maybe they have it maybe there's a steeper one around here I'm about a quarter mile away from where I just was and I I'd this huge sand dune so I walked all the way over here here's the big one looks like people used it either today or possibly yesterday oh it's pretty compacted so this one might actually be a lot faster the other one was really not at all Jesus is hard to get up almost up like sidestep they get up here all right it's crazy you can really get lost out here because the top of every sand dune looks exactly the same all right so this is the one I'm gonna go down it's definitely bigger than the other find a fresh area I'm gonna give you a first-person view for this one hope this works all right here we go we're moving whoo this was pretty fast oh man that one was pretty good I'm gonna do that one one more time since it's definitely faster than the other one and now that I'm covered in sand it doesn't really make much difference all right I'm gonna try something I don't have a snowboard with me but I'm gonna try to use this saucer and stand up I have an extensive snowboarding skateboarding back around here so we'll see how this works but you're about to experience this firsthand with me not sure if this is even gonna work all right all right all right now that my shoes are completely filled with sand I'm gonna keep doing some just exploring take some photos I'll probably put some stuff up on Instagram so you don't follow me yet on Instagram definitely look for the link down below mobile instinct everyone it seems like up north where I'm from and the better part of this country are dealing with freezing cold temperatures and a lot of snow and this is as close to snow as I've gotten which is pretty awesome hope you liked it see you guys in the next video thanks for watching yeah and it's everywhere

Best thing to do is to go down a path that was already made and dont mess up your path when going back up, and to rub that wax in good.

That first hill you went to is the one we go to every year! Good choice. And we were there around the same days as you because we go every year at about March 7

Speaking from experience learned on snowy slopes in Minnesota, a more rigid saucer would probably work better.

I think wax paper would have worked much better. Better coating.

I went here when I was 8 is there still a stream nearby, it'd be sad if that stream dried up. There was tiny little frogs and things living in it.

I bet the sand was exfoliating. What a really great place to visit, especially if it was 75 degrees, and not scorching hot.

I didn't realize these were a thing. It looks pretty cool. I don't think a candle was the right kind of wax. It didn't seem slippery. Maybe more like a car wax, or furniture polish or something slippery like silicone. Try spraying lemon fresh Pledge. 🙂

You guys should check out the abandoned sand dredge and the complex of buildings nearby. The general area is dollar bay michigan.

Fun stuff, I love dunes! Thanks for posting this. 😆 About 27 years ago my husband and I went to the Florence, Oregon Sand Dunes. These dunes are really, really tall and what you do there is rent Dune Buggies and go out into this desert! Maybe nowadays they let people snowboard or sled as well, I don't know. But I can say that driving to the top of a dune then flying down as fast as you can go was wayyy fun!!! And I didn't even know how to drive a car. It's a total desert and when you're in it there's nothing else but sand to see. It's the largest dune system on the west coast at 40,000 acres.
