The shooting was justified. The moose did actually pose a threat to the mans life. Moose will stomp you to death. They don't stop. Also, that is in my op unusual to see a moose act like that.

All the more reason to remove snowmobiles from Yellowstone. The park is a reserve for animals.

Seriously, the moose has the entire forest to go to but chose to attack the snowmobiler. Lesson learned, man = death.

He tried his best to repell the animal. In fact I think the first shot was a warning shot.

from what I 've heard of the story the man had his son with him on a snowmobile behind him, moose can be highly aggressive way well over 1,200 pounds. just saying if I had just gotten kicked in the chest by such an animal and had a kid with me…. and had a firearm, i'd have shot the moose too in that situation.

Pretty good shooting, actually. More than that, that guy could easily have been killed by just the assault we saw depending on where those hooves land. That dude is literally lucky to be alive. Apolitically, seriously.

You gotta do what you gotta do. I hope they called the warden though so the meat can go to people less fortunate instead of being wasted.

This nowhere in Yellowstone Park. Totally BS. As for banning snowmobiles in the park they already limited the number of sleds allowed in the park each day. What does this video have to do with snowmobiling in the park. GET A LIFE

The fuck do snowmobiles have to do with this? Might as well ban vehicles in general, since they were used to get to the park. Take your petition and shove it up your @$$.

What caliber is that pistol? It looks like a Glock. I would assume you would need something very powerful like 10mm, .357 SIG or at minimum .45 ACP to take down a moose.

guys Ya we all feel bad about watching that, but really? he was snowmobiling and he tried getting the moose to move so it didn't kill them. the moose became a threat when it attacked him so he had the right to defend himself and kill it.

as a hunter, this video disgusts me. Not only did the guy stand there and provoke the moose to charge, it was a YOUNG MOOSE, that was frightened by the snowmobiles approach and acted instinctively to defend itself. The guy in the video could have easily driven by the animal and continued on, instead he wanted to try and be a bad ass and injured (not killed) a baby moose. What a hard ass! What's next, want to drown some orphaned puppies? or perhaps you can hike up into the mountains and kill a baby puma because you walked into its habitat too? I hope karma hit this excuse for a person and gave him frostbite to his testes. Bad enough it took you 5 shots to put the animal down, but you didnt even have the decency to give the animal a kill shot. Extremely Rookie move by someone who CLEARLY should not be allowed to own a gun, since he feels that is his only line of defense. DOUCHEBAG to the fullest right here. I hope you and your family get the same treatment you gave that moose.

The only thing I disagree about with this video is the fact that he only injured the moose. I would have taken extra time to take a well placed shot. It was an inhumane kill but nonetheless, it had to be done.

Ehm, It seems you dont know that moose will stomp you to death if you happen to cross with them. He was obviously riding on the trail. The moose attacked after he  tried to make it go away multiple times. Banning things does not make the world safer.
