    As an employee of a very large coffee shop, I have something to say.
    As employees we have it battered into our heads that the drive thru needs to maintain a 45 second stop per vehicle. One, YES just one car can set back everything for everyone ALL DAY.
    I understand the disabled want equality. But if you can walk, why not go inside? Or, place your order and go back around.
    I know I’m going to get shit for this. And I am sorry. But, corporate only cares about numbers. In my situation, you will ruin the day of about 15 people because your too lazy to get out of your car

    I am disabled. She should have went inside with a pen and paper and placed her order. Even though she is disabled she was wrong. Have some common sense. You have been deaf for awhile. Using sign language is ridiculous. What if the window employee was disabled? Being hard of hearing does not excuse ypu for being in the wrong.

    Employee was very wrong but she had a person in the passenger seat he even tells the jack in the box employee she is deaf. Why did he not order for her? The video is longer and the person in the passenger is the one recording.

    Let me start by saying, I don't agree with how the Jack In The Box employee handled the situation at all. But…if her son that was recording isn't deaf and/or mute, why didn't he just place the order for her to begin with? He stated himself that this is a common problem. He must have already been through this and prepared to deal with or has dealt with this before. I mean, can't be the first time he's been through a drive-thru with her. So, to me, there could possibly be something fishy going on here. He had the wherewithal to record, but not the wherewithal to place the order for her? Almost like they wanted confrontation. And now she is planning to sue, of course. BTW, I'm speculating. I don't know them and I wasn't there to witness the entire situation from the beginning to the end. So…I could be completely off-base.

    ADVICE: If you get into a dispute with someone who handles your food, just LEAVE! You do not know what they will do to your food out of anger and stupidity. Yes, report the person, but don't let them serve you. You never know, they might include 'special sauce' that isn't on the menu.

    Dude our McDonald's here in Texas has that written on their order sign. If you have trouble or need assistance in ordering please drive up to the Order windows. In English and Spanish. I have seen deaf people ordering without issues. One store actually has a pad they give them to assist in ordering. Why is that so hard for Jack on the box to do the same?

    Why didn't she just go inside and order in the first place instead of holding up the drive thru for two hours? I smell a law suit! The employee was no doubt rude and yes was fired as he or she should be, but possibly if she had gone inside she would have had much better service and not have been treated so badly? Again we are only seeing what went viral and don't know the whole story, so I think it all could have been prevented if she had just gone inside and maybe if that would have not gone so well either she could have held the counter up for two hours!?? Who knows?

I work retail and I have dealt with deaf people in beautiful manners, just to show that they matter like every other soul, I take out a pen and paper and tell them take your time.     Honestly the dude was just trying to do his job. It's just rude driving up to the window and expect to get special treatment when others have to wait at a drive thru. Why didn't she just go inside? Or better yet have the person recording speak for her? And also why is she driving in the first place? Not trying to discriminate, but, isn't driving deaf dangerous??? I mean, it's already illegal driving with earphones. You won't be able to hear an ambulance trying to pass by, or honking from other cars.

    I live in the area and I know the bad reputation of this shop. She probably had to wait two hours because of un-cooperative attitude of the staff in trying to get them to contact the management, in order to bring light to this situation. Many people in the area complain about bad service from this shop. It is a franchise owned shop and not official owned by corporate. Quite a few of the franchise fast food places here have bad/deceptive practices, too.
