Day 1 highlights from Egna-Nuemarkt.
In Dance, first time on the Junior Grand Prix the new team of Angelina LAZAREVA and Maksim PROKOFIEV of Russia started out beautifully earning 59.48 to take third. Starting very early in the competition but delivering their best performance of the year Natalie D’ALESSANDRO and Bruce WADDELL of Canada earned 63.25 to own second. Having won their first Junior Grand Prix this season Elizaveta KHUDAIBERDIEVA and Andrey FILATOV of Russia skated a dynamic program earning 65.52 to own top spot going into the free. In the Men, there was some outstanding
performances this evening. Ivan SHMURATKO of Ukraine was innovative and completely connected to the music in earning 75.20 to move into third. A lot of growth this year but Petr GUMENNIK of Russia has also grown as a performer to match his quality technical skill earning 80.99 to take second . But the performance of the night belonged to Daniel GRASSL of Italy. Where skating clean technically was only a small part of
the story his attention to musical and performance detail was of the highest
level something special indeed and earned him 82.77 to take top spot.
