(energetic music) – It’s been outstanding. It’s been a great week for our kids and for our staff to
obviously spend the time with some of our returning players
that we know a lot about, but obviously with a big number of draft picks from this past weekend, to really dig in with them, and get to know them as
players, but people as well. It’s an extremely valuable
week for our organization. I’m really excited about
the quality of the group that we had from top to bottom. The standard that they set early. The intensity and the
pace that they set on-ice, and also to this new draft
class of the quality of them. If you took the names off the back, you wouldn’t be able to really
identify, I don’t think, who are the young newly drafted players, and who are the returning. We’ve got a pretty exciting
future with this class. From top to bottom, they’re
energetic, they’re enthused, they were coachable, they wanted to learn. And our goal going into this camp is always having them
leave here with resources and ideas of how they can
get better as players. To have them starting at
such a high level already is exciting for us. For us a staff, the quality of the time
that we got with these kids, everybody made sure that
they spent time with a kid or got to know him or ask questions. And I think as a group, we know this group that we
have so well in front of us, and what they need and
individually what the direction needs to be
for them moving forward. But also for our kids, I think
they feel a connection to us. They’re not afraid to ask questions. I want them to be able to reach out to me or reach out to our
skating or skills coaches. And I think when you have an
intimate environment like this, and a staff around them that is as quality as these guys are, everybody leaves here
in a real good place. Every single one of them had
moments where they jumped off or a coach is skating over and going, “Man, look at him move.” or “Look at, for a big body,
look at him protect the puck.” So, when you can go that deep with the amount of players that we took, it’s exciting for us. And you look over the
next couple of months and challenging each
and every one those guys leaving here to develop a plan, to put something in place that, come September, they’re better players and I know they’re gonna do that based on the type of people they are. And that’s a credit to Judd
Brackett, and his staff, and what they did in handing kind of a group like this over to us. We are resources to
them, not just this week, but all of the time. And I’ve encouraged them that every time I see them call me or text me with a question or wanting something, that’s when I get excited,
and our staff gets excited. So they know leaving here, I think, already they’re better players,
and what they need to do. And they also know that they’ve
got an organization that is 100% behind them, and supportive of them and giving them every opportunity they can to play in the National Hockey League.

We ARE a playoff team next year

EDIT: This doesn’t exactly include the prospects shown in this video but think about it, petterson, boeser, Hughes, all of those players will be much better. We also got miller who will slot into our top 6 and give us 2 lines that can produce on a regular basis. There’s also the cap room we have. We will easily be able to pick up some free agents that will benefit us.

Yea hey Coach! I was at ur camp. I'm just wondering if I have any chance playing for the Canucks? Especially when our GM overpays for never will be or has been players. Should I get my agent to request a trade now?
