FORT PIERCE SKATERS WERE TAKING BIDS IN HOPES OF KEEPING A SKATING RINK FROM CLOSING.MONEY FROM A SILENT AUCTION AND RAFFLE, AND THOSE WHO PAID TO SKATE WENT TOWARDS KEEPING SKATETOWN U-S-A OPEN. IT’S BEEN A STAPLE IN FORT PIERCE FOR 40 YEARS.BUT THE RINK MAY BE FORCED TO CLOSE NEXT WEEKEND.THE OWNER HOPES A GOOD SAMARITAN COMES FORWARD TO KEEP THE PLACE OPEN FOR KIDS. “It’s a wonderful thing we’ve raised a lot of money but we’ve got a long ways to go and we only have a week to do it and it’s going to take someone in the community who wants to help the kids in this community”STUART SAYS THE RINK WILL REMAIN OPEN FOR VISITORS
