I have an alpine ski background, I am 175cm height and usually use 165cm slalom ski. I am going to buy atomic punx 7 with 176cm(with cheap price). I have no experience doing freestyle ski. What do you think about it (170cm is out of stock so I have no choice). Thx

stifness in skis is random. in snowboards softer ones are for freestyle (slopestyle, half pipe and bigair) and stiff ones for all mountain and backcountry

Man, that was a good comparison. I'm still trying to let it all sink in before I take the plunge, but these kind of thorough, laymen's type explanations are definitely getting me there. Again, thanks for taking the time to teach!

Nice video as usuaully, it would be nice if u could rewie armada edollo/Bdog or just place them in one of these categorys. And as some one else sad, can you go through were to set bindings on different skis. for exampel parkskis with rocker can u have the bindning in the milddle.

That was the nicest way to tell me that "I'm not a pro-skier. Don't buy those skis…unless of course you plan on using them this way."

Any tips for a medium typ ski, been skiing alot when I was younger and have already a stiff pair of Heads. But as you said can't really do butters on them, and basically play around on them and have fun. If someone could point me towards a few good models I would be greatfull (179cm, 73kg / 5'10, 160lbs). Very good video 🙂

Hi Jens, I've been following you a while, mainly to improve my piste skiing, rather than freestyle. I think I learned my skiing too late in life for freestyle (I was 42 on my first ski trip, 55 now) so I ski on piste and I have been making steady improvements in my skiing. I weigh around 105kg and I'm 188cm and I go skiing once a year skiing reds and easy blacks, but my question is related to skis and ski length. I always get given different ski lengths / types depending on which resort / hire shop I go to (be it France, Austria or Sweden) and sometimes the skis feel great, and other times they feel too soft or too short or too long, etc. So given my height, weight, experience, age, etc. what length of piste ski should I be hiring, and due to my weight should I tend towards stiffer skis? I'm basically asking for a bit of help as to what I should be asking the hire shop for, rather than just taking what they give me, as the range of skis and options is just baffling to me.

Im in the market for a new pair of all mountain twin tip skis. My budget is 350 and under, and I would like a medium flexibility/butterability, but would also like to have good edge grip so I can carve. Does anybody have or reccomend any skis that would fit this description? Thanks for reading!

    Hi, I have a question.
In which type of ski would you set Faction CT 1.0? Maybe it's between the poachers and Völkl Revolt?
    Thank you

Thanks, this is perfect. I have GS skis for teaching and want to get dual tips for free time, im at the 360 with grab stage but want to ace a cork and for some reason cant do a butty!! So Poacher is probs right for me.
Also thinking about getting the S-Shift bindings to switch between park and tour pretty easily. Thoughts?

What about length and weight of the skis? How do I choose the perfect skis for freestyle / jumps? I'm 180cm / 62kg and I'm a beginner in this field.
