[Applause] you [Applause] welcome to the predator world ten ball championship proudly presented by Q Sports International and hosted here in Las Vegas at the real all Suites Hotel and Casino this is a round one session to match and now let's meet our opponents for this match first up hailing from Chinese Taipei group Alliance tougher lowly when and his opponent hailing from Scotland we put our hands together for Jason Shaw gentlemen have a great match and you may lag for break welcome everyone to the predator world Tim ball championships presented by CSI being WV sanctioned and it we're at the real all Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas Nevada we're sponsored by predator Q sports international diamond billiard products Kamui and Omega billiards this is George tha with Jeremy Jones in the booth Jeremy yeah great match here in our opening opening round of the world 10 ball and Jason Shaw off the lags any indication both these guys are prepared by Jason Shaw pretty much frozen knowing how important this first break is an alternate break format and winter break format be honest with you nine-foot diamond tables using the predator XK to cloth predator Arcos to balls they also have the predator bridges the referee will be racking the balls form using the 10 ball template and this is a race to eight alternate Iraq this is last ball ten ball which means that for instance you makes the 110 here the ten spots and will continue but does not win the game it has to be the last ball pocketed and immediately this not a new rule it's been played with before but a rule that's not always used in some events immediately first opening shot here timing was perfect so you break it right now you and I had just talked about a little bit before the match started and I was gonna get away from him right there and that maybe a little bit of an effect of not used to this TV table just yet players have hit some balls they hit at least three or four rags piece back and forth yeah this is gonna work out here though maybe even better than you miss position George because he could knock the two into that cluster down there and bring the cue ball well the twos not the problem but I'm gonna play safe on the three is what I'm imagining I can't believe he would shoot this combination this is a really steep combo no no it doesn't go for sure now what he could do is just knock the three into the nine let the three kind of replace where the nines at and run the cue ball back behind the four six it's an awfully steep offensive combination here yeah more than likely you will be playing safe one way or another and that's the way you just described that off of three and coming around the purple into green 6 and right away we get an extension called on on the time clock we won't have access to see the clock for your viewers but they will call an extension and when they when they do I'll try to lurch it to the fact that they're they've called their extension it is a 40-second time clock okay he's got to get that cue ball hidden because the three got away from him a bit but I think he may have gotten behind the five yes he did and I think getting the end of five was intentional oh for sure it was kind of I think both I think he did want to keep the three covered up behind the eight but definitely running the cue ball three rails and then dropping off that fourth rail behind the behind the five well this this is what I would call champions we've got 13 world champions in here yeah it's a pretty incredible stuff do you remember a time when there's been that many in a tournament you've attended well no not right offhand that's for sure but kind of as as time goes you figure to have more just because you developed more world champions as time goes but yeah I don't recall and to be honest with you this is a 13 world champions in this event and it's not like the players of yesteryear that had so many time you know so many years just to gain titles and whatnot Hall of Famers we do have a few Hall of Famers in the in the field for sure but but it's a lot of the young talent that have captured a lot of titles in the last 10 years and still in the prime of of their game pretty sweet to get to watch that for a week well sure you can tell by some of the ages of the players that we're calling up here I mean you're gonna see kachi at 20 you're going to see filler at 21 young koch brothers like alba notions of a real seasoned vet didn't yet like 31 years old or something like that yeah okay I actually knew he wasn't thirty but kind of trying to make a joke that he seems like one that's been around you know and here Jason Shaw a guy that's made a huge name in Q sports the last six or seven years really really coming into his own probably the last three years you would say no he's gonna play a little Karen but he's got a container for you look to me when our first glance that that that that seven wouldn't go that was froze on the outside of that corner so yeah that worked out nice for him and the only reason he didn't play a combination on the four seven is the seven was a little thin into the pockets of the four would have ran a little bit and then he may not have had so much control and where the fours going so a good decision there playing the little camera shy shy shy was sponsored by Perry Ultimate Team gear and Jason is a really good one to watch as far as just very effortless very trusting of the stroke a lot of cute power when he needs it well he's got a lot of queue there right so it's got the extension is added on he plays with the full time yeah it's pretty common with you know it was weird it was almost like a fad for a lot of players for a little while and some of them kind of just went to certain shots again to use the extension not just stretch shots but certain types of shots Jason one that I stuck with it and really loves it well the first rank so he's on break the win will come to the table now and show us his break and control he's 41 years old is he qualified to get into this tournament where as a Jason Shaw his WPA ranking got him into the tournament so and you really gotta tip your hat to the players that had to qualify for this event because like many tournaments many big tournaments sometimes and of course the qualifiers not quite as tough usually but it's it's right up there with the main event itself of usually having two or three times the amount of players that the main event holds and so these guys a lot of them went to many qualifiers just to get in this event sure we had three guys qualify yesterday one day that was Raymond firown' Philippine Josh Roberts American and Hungarian and by adding Josh Roberts to the mix we now have 10 Americans in the 64 player field gives you an idea of how internationally flavoured it is and a nice break there the the wing ball went for rails that'd be in the to just quickly looking at the break just just the first two year the guys are breaking the balls awesome enemy it's amazing how well everyone breaks these days or as a whole one breaks really well but I think they're they're eventually gonna slow it down a little bit just initially look in here they're missing those balls on the side really high and with the new again speed control I don't know if he can I don't think so I think the six has actually got I'm just a piece well reading his body English now I want to say here are completely right up here it kind of looks like you know once he uses that left English on this ball he'd be able to cut it yeah you may be able to get around it yeah otherwise oh no it's got him alive a little bared shot right there coming across the three banking it back down with a high inside ball pretty clever alright Jason's looking at the surveying the jump I'll tell you though the two row cakes pretty nice both ways he to real kick it to either side we all believe he's a little elevated if he goes so what is his right side rail but mr. Lowe is Miss position a couple times already early in this match probably uncommon unusual for him first round yeah so he'll settle in and I'm sure Jason call in the ten coming one rail and actually this is a pretty pretty wide shot cuz he's got a chance to send a three kind of backup table maybe back around the 710 depending on what side he hits it and he's called the ten oh and so may mr. Lowe here in a second oh you're right you're right ten bow laughs yeah that's correct that excuse me no it's just it's a rule that we haven't seen very often over here and so we're accustomed to even rewarded for making that combo by winning the game today's match here and this this tournament in the world ten ball well guess what you get to shoot again but you don't win the game it's got to be the last ball and could add a little bit of strategy to the game whereas you know winning the game is different now so you only stand to lose at the end of the rack and that in the middle takes away force what would I call some of those cheap games little one two combos that happen to line up for you to ten combos okay speed again is okay that's gonna be alright a little thinner and he wanted so cue ball movement they have to either kill this come across for the seven in the opposite corner or he couldn't just float it nice pause before his delivery they're showing that you take some dead aim I don't know any or many pros that don't pause just before they deliver the stroke you mean at the cue ball at the cue ball yeah that's the ones that I mean that's the one that I think is essential it's like it's an allsports George is a moment of being steel before the act just to like you know golf club they waggle waggle waggle you come still at the ball before you make that last motion coming back and same thing you can really see it in all sports really throwing a baseball shooting a basketball there's always that little moment of that pause and like you said the pros most all of them do it police come through and handle things get some itself on the scoreboard one to one in a race to eight one of the things about this tournament is the final 16 will we'll be playing one loss if they're out when it gets to the final 16 that eight on the loser side they'll redraw again with the 8 on the winter side and will basically start a German of single elimination and it will be a race to 10 they will extend the race all right I like that format and a lot of good formats out there but I don't mind the single limitation at all especially when it's just the final 16 you get a little more play from the get if you suffer an early loss you can certainly fight your way back you have just a little bit longer to recover from that from from a silly error or a bad roll or something like that yeah or just maybe not getting many opportunities we saw that some in the diamond nine ball we just finished up yeah you see those side balls okay that's gonna be some concern and this may just because our TV table was refitted between between the two events so the balls the guys are hitting them great that's another reason but those those two balls behind the one which are two of the balls you were trying to make playing ten ball in the side pockets straight yeah when they're going that long it's usually just a little too much energy going into the rack yeah usually it the pliers like Neil's we were talking about him yesterday or the days ago actually how he's full full blowing on the on the break he gives it all he has and in ten ball that's usually what they do but with the template rack with the template they those balls will come up right the side pockets behind the spotted ball and if you hit it too hard they go high right it's almost like you're hitting them too good yeah it really flush and but what the new felt Iraq really opens up nicely oh boy okay it's funny that ball laid up so hot so long didn't you had time to say oh boy and it was there and speaking of the new felt if that maybe that ball there would have hung up just a couple of days ago well the good thing about it is they just refill tat the bed and not the rails and that way it'll bank pretty well like it's been played on not brand new it won't Bank is long wrecked yes it'll play a little more like the guys are expecting through the week this last week for the diamond nine ball and as far as like you know checking the cue ball controlling the spin off of rails it's gonna be a little a little more what the guys like you're gonna come is he gonna come two rails below around the tender stream I think so yeah pretty sweet little shot mess that really effortless cue power that Jason consistently has and that type of shot – that's really good at that type of shot moves that cue ball very well I'm their rail there see a lot of that from him this is the first round and both these guys are holding their rack they're on break a couple of matches from from the first eight eight matches that we had just before this one a little bit of a note is door Oh Chloe Kuribayashi defeated James arañas eight to six so there's a big gun that's on the one law side but if he continues he can get back he can get good again right yeah and you said it was a Japanese player of the beat him yes well bye ashie oh okay yeah well he's a great player please really well actually it was funny James arañas took a loss to Mills fan hill-hill and opening round of the nine ball Mills went on to win it so James came a long way back oh absolutely James came back from and ended up at six or seven think maybe nine to twelve nine through twelve okay yeah him and Shane both came back and I think ended up in about the same spot Shane ended up 13th through 16th yeah Shane he played a great match his last match just had one one mistake and got penalized for it sure okay watch the six and the three how high they go past the sides okay see the three one half a diamond up and I didn't see was the six one six one a little less than that but high but high for sure and he's made the one on the break but it's not you know the ones gonna track towards those opposite corners and when he breaks from the right he comes to the upper to upper left but you can't rely on making that one no that's kind of the one you're playing shape on really exactly right like in lamb boy you play the one on the side or you play it to come off the side for the opposite corner pocket for shape but not intend ball no I'm just kidding when you're hitting a well comes straight off the rack I'll take a shot here yeah great shot to executed a little flip of the hand there he knew right away he hit it too hard and I think he thought he was gonna catch a piece of the nine I could be I think yeah yeah I think he thought he was just gonna catch just an edge of the nine okay though he's got a pocket here he's got a he's got a four over the side he's close to the three it's just a matter if he feels like he can contain the cue ball while shooting at this thin one I love to hit it with some English and killed he ball yeah can you can you come off the the top of the three on to the five oh he can definitely play safe but again we talked about it all week how aggressive these guys are if they have that opening they're not gonna go super silly on a shot take take a really bad percentage or low percentage attack but see for me this looks like quite a steep cut yeah quite so steep there yeah when you're close to it though you can really manage you can be very accurate oh he made off the five gonna be okay no this would be a little jump shot well most likely you're right maybe a curve full cue won't even bother getting the jump cue curved yeah that's what I was slight enough and one of the prettiest shots and pull the little masse yeah those are sweet and they're pretty they're pretty handy to control too they're not not real bad yeah it's I mean don't get me wrong once you got to go way up in the air with the cue it you gonna there's an element of that losing accuracy and you it's not always gonna be perfect but it's not a whole lot different than shooting a regular shot with maximum spin and trusting the deflection of the ball I mean it's just your gut kind of tells you where you aim and make the swing and you just go with it and Jason Shaw in a prime position to take a 3-1 lead and then breaking in the 5th game if you can get out here that's what happens when you lose your break that's big you can turn into three games three games real quick the next break now Jason wasn't here for the 9-ball had other commitments at the time and came in a couple days early though here for the ten ball from Scotland but now lives in Connecticut yeah he's been here a few years I mean are his wife two young beautiful children he walked in when he walked into the arena he walked in with his daughter and well he was warming up she was kind of sit in the stands they're just coloring away Jason's gonna add a little more to that cue it looks like – what's that gonna make it about eight feet I'm just some somewhere 70 inches he's got I think he's got about a 10 inch extension on there already and he's already added another it looks like six or seven yeah it's a wee bit taller than than Jason is now that's for sure I like how because he's from Scotland you went with a Scottish accent a little wee bit yeah yeah we there we go and that's not what he wanted and kind of tell people that whenever I give it a little instruction was when you're when you're stretched right and when you're jacked up say for those two shots in particular you don't want to like blast it but you have to realize you're not in your regular form so you're not usually gonna get quite as much easy power like you normally do so if you're someone that's shorter or stretches a lot you got to realize normally you need to put a little bit more on it yeah that's actually very good advice you're very right I find myself coming up short cuz they stretched out and the cue ball doesn't travel well I hit it the way I usually do but no yeah you're just not in your normal powerful position so you just lose a little bit of steam on the cue ball usually and the same thing when you're elevated a lot of times over a ball or something like that you tend to want a baby it a little bit and of course the cue ball doesn't move for you quite as well usually see that's one of the great things about having Jeremy Jones in the booth 101 well I was it's about the guys around around Houston Texas that help help me develop my pool game there's so many great players around there whenever I was trying to learn how to play and still are a lot of great players sure but this is and that's important not just so much for learning but I mean you get to emulate the players in the area you they'll give you advice you know years ago when you were coming up not too many players gave out advice no not so much now you have YouTube available you can watch you watch streams there's lessons online there's all kinds of things and then of course you know when you're in Texas Jeremy Jeremy rents out for lessons too okay did you notice how much lighter he hit those didn't have put near as much steam into the rack and yeah really good results and you'll notice how many balls they were sending up the table with that harder break the first three or four breaks and that'll show you that you're just kind of over hitting them a little bit and don't get me wrong you want to hit him it's the break but there's just that fine line so more and more what I'm seeing especially like with the nine ball templates or even yeah the last tournament they're not as hard as they used to they're playing more of a a good stroke and control break yeah the playing position on that one ball they're playing position is trying to stop the cue ball then in or close to the middle of the table but more importantly they're making sure they go with the one ball so they can have position of the one okay I think that was a pretty smart shot I know everything didn't turn out how he wanted but he was trying to come back past the ten but he knew that the scratch wasn't there with the ten being there so if he ran into the ran into the ten things weren't gonna be too bad but it's also a little bit of an illusion on the break is because how great these players are they stay in form hitting them with speed so it appears that oh man I'm not hitting him that hard but they're just so good also yeah does he make them both no nice shot in case he had this position three ball and probably would've loved have made it actually because he's in a really good position to over the cue ball over it probably plays safe on the six maybe a cut shot on the 6 because the sevens over the pocket so that'll make it a little tempting to try and get offensive on the six kind of looked at it like he wants the angle to take the six ball three rails and in tech they're like you bowling behind the 10th and a short shorter somewhat shorter races that being a race to eight and again your tournament excuse me your tournament life this is one you may pass up on sometimes now if he if he's pretty clean on it I think he's gonna shoot but there's any question mark like George said he'll knock around three rails but it looks like he's falling perfect George I worry about the nine a little bit this just opened up form and if you're planning on viewing all week like most are the first several days it'll be twelve to thirty five and seven thirty and then the believe it's day four they may be fifty three and four we have five matches each on those two days right twelve to thirty five and seven thirty and then on day three it's 10:00 a.m. they gave us a new schedule actually it's 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday Thursday correct Wednesday Thursday right all right so it'll be ten twelve thirty Oh looks like there are two hours apart there well here's the schedule this 10:00 a.m. 12:33 p.m. 5:30 and 8:00 on day three and four and then on the final day with semifinal round at twelve then the semifinal round at 3:30 in the final at eight o'clock at night just three on that is that Friday that was a pretty much easy clearance bye bye Jason that's why I went in read all those things to you well he made it easy that's for sure with a nice shot on the 6 well planned out we've got a lot of great matches going on this is the second wave of the first round we had a our opening matches at 12 o'clock today we've got Roberto Gomez and post player Roberto is looks like he's breaking but he's down to 2 1 yes sure I want album nation trailing 2-0 and this wreath is off see well we got Neos lion vs. read most oldest carol skorsky vs. Roberto Gomez Alba notion do a cork Wang Michiko for to ski and boy check skis polish soos wit shoe shake okay and then we got Jason Sean Lowe and then Lu Cheng Chi against Tony Gwynn and mr. cha Chi and mr. rule and then we have Maximilian Lechner and now ukiyo-e well very much some international Flavors Wow was there an American in that net mixed I don't think so I don't recall – no no no and no well the guys are here on a time out on the main table and after well after this we're on a timeout after this wave as Jeremy just called it that's then coming up at 5:00 p.m. matches will be well I'll see what your your screen your live stream will be Darrell Darren Appleton and Alex paga lion two strangers to the to the livestream arena guys that we see as often as possible because they are they're such a great drawing they're such great players Alex you just get inducted or he's about to be inducted to the Hall of Fame well it's the the actual ceremony hasn't happened yet but okay it's him and the chance co-brothers from way back Johnson City Erin and Greg Sullivan of Diamond digger products 43 year old Darren Appleton and 41 year-old Alex pack lion coping chun kaplan Torsten Holman Danielson Carlo piatto versus Ravi capito but the players are back in now so we'll call you some more matches later but this so move on with with this match yeah loli went about to break here in game 6 and I haven't seen him in some time of course I don't get to that side of the world very often anymore but been a solid player for a long time played many big events yeah yeah he and I played actually a couple times in Japan and he took a little more off there too and you can see the spreads are a little better there they don't get the clusters that's a very nice spread he's made two balls on the break he's got ideal position for the two ball and he's got a nice natural full angle which as always makes it comfortable coming across the table everything looks great prefer mr. Lowe but the one thing that doesn't is the score he's trailing by three games but he can well I was just he can quickly make this up but he won't be breaking again he broke that time he can improve by a game but Jason will take control from the table he'd take control of the table and there are a couple early position airs when I'm a little unlucky when he cut to three and he went around the table just ended up an inch short on the floor and he was behind I believe the nine ball it was tried to masse it in but early he had a position here that was a little bit more of a unforced yeah it seems his cue ball kind of got away from a little bit little over in it well mr. Lowe wasn't here I don't believe anyways I don't recall seeing him for the nine ball no I don't either but then neither was Jason yeah but these guys if you don't play in Vegas all the time generally the tables play a little faster overall the a little drier climate that's perfect yeah I could have could have been a little something that just wasn't totally aware of at the time and no excuses of course but just facts yeah just little things that some players will forget you get caught up in a moment everything seems to be going real nice but you expect a little the table to be a little wetter and it's not it's good nice and dry yeah and you hear about it like with the golfers we always compare pool in golf because they're so similar in individual stationary sports but you'll hear the golfers they're there all week for the tournament and after the first round they're like well I can never get the speed of the Greens down you know and well you've been there five days it was a but it's just human nature it's not always easy to get it down and they vary yeah speed varies from the morning to the evening to because the grass grows a little well yeah the same thing on the pool table believe it or not as the day changes the atmosphere changes so does the table and the playing conditions temperature changes the humidity changes all that changes with it mm-hmm well a nice solid out and one that was very needed and that'll stop the bleeding for the time being yeah we've got 64 grape of the greatest in the world here well I think I mentioned it earlier there's 13 world champions or world titles here I mean we have players from Argentina their rule just Mexico and all over Europe and Chinese Taipei we have Chinese we have Japanese we have Albanian and we have one of our favorites the butcher from Poland music oh he made quite an impression taking second place in that diamond Las Vegas opened with Neal's fine and taking first and from the Netherlands both of them playing so saw that he was almost it was almost a parent that they would probably end up in the finals come here I wants to the players then doesn't know the tournament the how he said maybe the a role outcome of the tournament it's usually pretty accurate I mean don't get me wrong there are roles and sometimes we've talked about there's just a role from 56 to win the tournament that's the true sometimes whether it be a good break or bad break I mean all the guys when you when you're getting the top six top eating these events you're playing well enough most likely to win it but those two guys definitely or the cream of the crop last week sure they sure work and and don't don't get what I say everyone I mean Jeremy explained it perfectly and a good example would be Shane Shane missed one four ball and lost the match and they because they were playing pretty close to perfect both of them in fact if they weren't perfect they were as close as could be and in the last rack to get on the hill Shane missed it and it gave us opponent the rack and then this won't have broken Renan that was it touchy shot here I'm not sure being on the rail he can dodge the scratch he's gonna try to it appears but this is a dangerous shot at 4 – yeah well think he's gonna well he tried to hit it harder to create to lose the angle like get off that scratch angle and I think he really need to look at a safety there yeah I mean you can't really question too many of these guys that too often but you could see the extra time he took and and then he would have never shot that ball like that if the scratch wasn't on he's not going to fire that ball being on the rail he's going to shoot it with a nice medium speed but tells you that the scratch was definitely on well the much-needed break for uh for a league win well this looks nice just kind of float just just stun it forward a little bit at the five on the side up for the six and it's it lays out perfectly and he's settled in and seems a lot better with the speed control or the cue ball like most of the Chinese Taipei players a very simple swing but very effective but he's not a real big big man believe it or not but it's it's pretty good I think it's decent like if he needs power he'll take it a little longer Yeah right there was just like just maybe a four-inch mm-hmm well not very much just a hair more just the hair longer there too yeah he came longer yeah well the thing there is you can come a little broader with the cue ball meaning let the cue ball get a little further to the right side rail and that that makes that angle become a little thicker when you come across a little close to it at times if you don't get the speed right you can end up a little funny that's certainly what's happened here doesn't want to bump the 9 even though you may have to yeah that's what he's looking at now with the bump on the 9 and don't get me wrong like I said you don't want to do this but sometimes when you fall in a funny position George's that's really the the best percentage play but a bump it to the rail so you straighten yeah you get a real good feeling of it you know you don't want to come underneath it of course unless you really really have control on it but yeah there get a good feeling of it now he hit it a bit hard but he clears the attempt here's the ten but it looks like he goes right at the side pocket yeah and he could I think he could draw into the ten if he wanted problem with that is they could separate in a bad way that being the cue ball in the ten and leave him a pretty tough shot on the ten like you said it's close to the scratch I think he'll probably hit above the side I think he plan to maybe leave that middle of the table because look at his cue ball he stopped it there for a reason but he's left chasing the shot and Jason will waste no time and trying to make them pay for that that mistake shot mr. Lowe kind of shot in between there like if the two-way shot excuse me it's really sitting nice and you know everything's secure nothing wrong with it at all I do it all the time but if it's not you really kind of define the shot a little bit be a little more definite one way or another meaning commit to really trying to make the bank or just go ahead and play the safety fully don't let just ignore trying to go offensive the onus is a really really solid solid player and sure a guy that hasn't won a ton of big tournaments or anything but you can see it went through the qualifier those guys they qualified they're hungry they want to win I know Jeffrey DeLuna was in that they qualifier oh yeah there's a lot of great players in that great players in that and that qualifier but uh back to the rack here getting the cue ball cleaned off and Lee went low about to break the balls he's trailing two games to five I would say he needs this one because they can get away real quick from here it's a race to eight this one gets away he's down four games and his man is only two games away from the match he's made that one in the corner a lot which is an indicator that he's hitting the rack exactly how he wants as far as they hit on the one that's that that's the angle you want you want the cue ball to roof to reflect that hit on the one where the one goes back up towards that corner well he doesn't have too much in the three here I'm gonna try to use the 810 as a blocker play safe here yeah I agree with that gotta be a little aware of the cue ball like right here still a nice speed it looks like he's got him well if not completely blog partially blocked let's close he's just suddenly swerving around this trying to get the three open probably like that trying to get the three down and some separation at least make missing he didn't want the three to go that far obviously but basically that shot was all about getting the cue ball in the in rail and putting the three out in the middle of the table and just making low the wind come with a one tough shot to turn this game now when you're playing safe do you prefer to leave the ball close to a rail or away from the rail I mean the object-ball you've the object-ball well yeah if you can you want to try and play both meaning the cue ball safe somewhere and then object-ball safe as well just in case one goes goes wrong you still have a little protection I guess kind of when I was getting that was one day when the object-ball is opposed to the rail it makes it a much easier target to hit oh yeah as far as playing safe on the kick yeah yeah I get you know I don't explain myself as well as Jeremy that's why I ask him these questions no no you know that makes perfect sense that uh yeah I mean ideally if you get the snooker you'd love the object-ball as far away from the rail as possible but that's the tough proposition about it is if you're not guaranteed on the snooker a lot of times you want to try and protect the object-ball as well so you won't leave it as open right so in a perfect world when you know you have the snooker of course yeah I agree with you leave the cue ball or the object-ball as far away from the rail as possible it's a speed any good here very okay very and from here it I can almost if you get the sense that he will close this out there's just there's five balls to run but I can't see where he would he would fail here now just make sure you get on the correct side of this seven so you can naturally just move the cue ball over five or six inches for for the eight and that's what he's done here same thing when he shoots CA for the nine and then they're pretty much stop shots I'm looking for the guy with the iPad that has the life scoring got a little straight here so he's gonna have to shove the cue ball out a little bit but this is the one when if you can't get to that straight just go ahead and hold the angle on a nine to move the cue ball back over okay got there yeah see see what I'm saying you're getting that gray area now it's hard to move it over so you got to just hold the ball and take a little bit more of a shot on the 10 which still is shouldn't be a problem but you could see I mean he would much rather been a little more fullness a little miserable you would say for these guys this could be missed oh yeah pressure and that's all about what these types are I don't like that word pressure pressure see ya oh okay well pocket reached out and grabbed a little bit yeah that's the kind of shot that you say when you're playing on you cloth you say two weeks from now that two days sometimes yeah yeah but that's one thing about Vegas the fell the course will get a little more worn in but the way it plays doesn't change that much because there's just not much humidity at all or if any Vegas yeah I have that same climate at home where I live in Tucson and just you can get away with shots like that right I think in the south in Texas well Barry yeah well Texas has it all we got the dry out west and then the Northwest so we got the coast where I'm from originally uh that's very humid well Lee wind holds his own there that rack and forcing Jason to continue to be successful on his break otherwise you might catch him real quick nice break what's down nothing yet there goes one ball goes down the side not much of a shot on the one but you can see it all he'll just probably move the one to the back rail let the cue ball float down behind the three in the 10th immediately we saw that he was on top of the 1 and took a glance at that 8 and saw it was looking to see if it would get up to offer a bank of some sort but and that's the shot that should be practiced from all different areas if you're trying to become a great pool player because just that middle of the in rails a place you go with the cue ball a lot with those types of safeties oh yeah yeah and it's and it's really both like get that work on getting the object ball to the middle cue ball to the opposite middle of the rail because you just always have that congestion or a little ball ball or two always around the rack to play safe behind behind to be successful the cue ball cue ball is just perfect okay so Jason's got some opportunities here he can lay the cue ball behind the six which is probably what he's gonna do try and Bank the one to the right side of the for bit I didn't get through it he's still gonna have the cover but he's not gonna be happy about it you want to get him up underneath and he just cut the one quite a bit that's an upsetting shot if you're your Jason that's what that's the one that you did want open like you were talking about you get it up six or eight inches right at the four ball and even if you do leave them a shot it's a real tough one it's actually tougher than this jump shot well this is one of the easier ones it's out there and you can actually stop the cue ball here once you hit the one they won't jump off the table and position perfect he's gonna have to make it nice and on the on the for as well and a bit of one here on the three being on the rail you would think it's just a layup but he's got a role as bald fairly softly I don't think he's gonna elevate the cue here right George he's not straight I don't think elevates no he'll lay flat and just roll it and let the ten ball kind of stop the cue ball right Oh is he going into the ten I thought he okay well that's okay yeah no catch a piece of it for sure sure and you'll just come there and you'll be almost straight in the floor let's type of shot also you tend to baby it a little too much sometimes go ahead and shoot it because like like George said you're gonna contact the ten enough you want to get the ten and the cue ball separated wow he is elevating okay so that he's elevating because he does have the ten to go into Oh little shake rattle roll there but he's gonna force adjacent to swerve this ball or a soft jump you a three row kick isn't the worst but on a slight e-cloth that pretty tough to judge yeah plus if he catches you catches the top ball goes into the six yeah so he's just trying to get this made and play from somewhere he knows it's not gonna be great but it's just something you got to do sometimes make sure you get that ball down don't sacrifice anything trying to get better position on the floor almost looks like if he makes this four ball he may go to the upper left just because he can level out I believe and come naturally to rails gotcha now he's elevating so that says he's going to the upper right and I see how just easy he can hit swing it from some distances so it just seems like cheating I want to say I think I tribute that to that added to that extension well it just makes that hit so much less effortless because of the added weight and the length yes exactly well we've talked about it on many occasions that I'm sure you know as well as I do that there used to be some regulations because it mathematically it it made the game easier it made certain strokes easier it made certain shots easier and I could have been one of them right there I know there's regulations for jump cue sizes and I thought that 58 60 inches was kind of the norm and I don't want to say limits but you never saw anybody play with the longer he's not gonna like this at all he may have to throw it in a bit but yeah if I'm I could be ain't I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure there were length regulations weight regulations at at one point and diameter of the shaft it's pretty standard pretty standard to be 13 it's not pretty standard to go where he just went he was hoping to come off that rail and have a little bit better shot I think this is one of those shots that forget about hitting the corner just look at the ball and accept that when you're cutting balls like this real thin can you find it a little deceiving when you use that high English usually hit it fatter like that sometimes and it's just he's had a little bit of a Miss hit on on a few this rack the five ball after making such a great shot on the four you can see that one kind of wobbled in a little bit the four did the six wasn't six wasn't bad but what nice clean is it normally has four Jason but well it's not that you hit a little fat sometimes if the stroke isn't so good at the cue ball really grabs the object ball so it appears fat sometimes it's sometimes you do any fad of course but that's good that looks pretty nice he made that ball [Applause] guys like to see that again and look like it skidded first one I've seen well I'll tell you about that one later on – as far as the skid yeah but uh when you're close to the ball it's almost like saying you had ball in hand and her ball was on the low round you had to spin out two rails with high inside right well you would never put the cue ball two inches from the object ball you always give it room right to gain momentum right so that's for a position that time right so it's the same thing as far as making clean cuts if you set it right on top of it it's gonna pull a little bit because you don't the cue ball doesn't have time to rotate all right so it's like a flat ball it's like a like a knuckle ball almost so it grabs the object ball a little bit more so I got you yeah so he actually that's why when you like when you get on top of a ball like he did you naturally almost always play to the upper part of the pocket because you know like you play to over cut it a hair to the upper part because you know the ball is gonna pull a little bit more you can't naturally cut it right like when you get on top of one year player you know you just naturally aim a little thinner because the contact isn't so clean when the cue ball so close to the other book yeah if that makes any sense it's more the physics side of the game you might say I guess because you explain just makes sense I'd look at a shot like that and I just say I don't know why I do but this is what I think I'm supposed to do and well no yeah I naturally do it right you naturally do it's just the breakdown of it is you know what a break you made here and really after that he got a little bit unlucky that was it the third game I believe and had an error there in one game but played pretty solid he absolutely needs this game you can't afford to go go downhill three and have a realistic chance of winning the match so this type of shot here is where don't try to get all the way over you really make the three miserable just be very satisfied that the fives fives very handy and accessible just be very satisfied with a 10-inch angle on this on this for he-man he got over really well yeah but that's about right but even if you're five inches shorter there it's very easy to handle the cue ball going across however you want to do a lot of people really try to get premium on that four ball and then they make the three ball so much more miscible anywhere from the middle over was fine mm-hmm got close he puts his q-tip to the ball I do that too he puts it really close now will you sell will he really come down between the rail in the nine yes he will and just right now it just stands up and life is good no he's not gonna stab easy to go forward and over right I would think he's so close it's a little preference and he's got enough of the key ball he could elevate and just kind of draw up but mostly guys a level out that's nice that's nice and smooth it's much smoother that way I think if you tried to stun straight up from there you'll have a tendency of over cutting the the eight to the pocket and he does get to four now this get very good for for low right away if Jason breaks dry or makes any kind of mistake as now it'll be six five that's why this that game was so important because now Jason realizes is one mistake here and we could be tied before I shoot again Alban ocean struggling a little bit he was down to nothing that game the lead at three – but I've kept a little bit of an eye on that masters because our aunt really liked watching him play kind of keeps me in stroke without getting to hit any balls maybe but he just had a big miscue on a seven ball to go out for de – I believe that's a is that a Vietnamese player he's playing is that correct that's a very good question yeah I think so it's okay that's what I was making sure I wasn't sure of his name shot so I was looking at that and I remember him as well it's a bit of ways I can't quite see him just yet but I think it's the same man that manager has improved yeah Viet Vietnam started getting some invitations to World Championships some eight or ten years ago and there were players that there were probably a tear below you might say the top guys at least but they sure have come a long way in a short period of time these countries really well be honest with you and in America – but America we have some mainstream sports that are very recognized but other countries really really support any sport that's doing well meaning if they were on the world scene you know making noise gold medals that kind of stuff exactly they're looking for champions and it doesn't matter what sport it is yeah well they want statements worldwide a lot of these countries do they want they want to know that that they're on the world scene and all kinds of different sports our people count – well here's Jason looking to get on the hill here on this rack big break he's quite a ways over off center on that break and for ten ball didn't usually go out that far today well you can go all the way from the center to almost a diamond out like he is he wasn't quite a diamond but you can go a long ways and just depending on the speed you want to hit it you can get a lot of the same results the thing is the path of the one it's usually what will make the players vary a little bit as how the ones coming off the rack okay well what a tough shot we're looking at here and no that's what I'm saying yeah just pocketing the two is one thing but moving the cue ball so we'll see some of that effortless power we talked about he would like a little more angle a little easier yeah so this will be a lot a lot of speed needed more yeah they're gonna get a pocket he's gonna shoot this to the low right and draw the cue ball he's just got to do it it's not a shot he'll pass up on and he really can't be too upset about the way things turned out there I mean if I go long there I'm not too unhappy because I hit the ball clean so I know position isn't going to continue to be a problem as long as I'm hitting the ball clean like that things are gonna be okay sponsor patches parry is askew maker well you can see what we have in front of these remaining six to get on the hill and that should that should happen just hold the cue ball right there to have a natural angle to shoot the seven and come around the nine to get on the eight I think anyways yeah if you're a betting I think he goes around the night yeah Betty man you have to bet on him then against him cuz I think he'd there's a lot of money beating against him Roberto Gomez and a tough one down five to two Roberto what I saw the player in it and a fighter guy that plays great all the time and plays a ton of poise another one that won a qualifier I believe it was Dallas Texas I wouldn't doubt that that's a Polish player he's playing yes and just the way for the kid plays I don't know him but way he plays it's very similar it's fine after his big win hotseat went and he said that the Polish are force to be reckoned with nice as they're coming with all these Euro true they're coming with five six seven eight ten players well that's what I've said earlier they that maybe as far as an individual country now they don't have the guy that's the highest ranked but they have like five six seven guys in the top 15 16 that's pretty strong maybe maybe more solid players than any other country in Europe I mean we saw we saw play out of the young man oh yeah especially in pressure pressure situations yeah you look at I was really impressed you look at Germany you know of course you have Ralph Josh filler and a few others and some some past great players that came out of Germany it's a big country that you kind of would think there would be maybe a few more England of course has a lot of great players of Poland I'll tell you it seems like they're on it meaning it's no fluke and they're gonna continue to produce great players great young players his name is Karl scholars skorsky korsky jason shaw you saw him there in a prime position now – he has a couple of he'll have at least two opportunities to break the balls and win the match that's for sure yeah and he's missed again the balls went high a little extra on it ouch on both side pocket balls went high and he's missed him a lot of times he's actually made the one up in the corner I think three times you haven't seen well I know the viewers they love it because they can get a little bit of live scoring this is pretty much the shot here I believe the four goes on the side so if he can get the three down and control the speed on the cue ball you should just come just a little bit left to where the ball is at now and the thing is don't worry about the big angle on the four you can shoot the five from where the four is that right now so don't let the cue ball run too much no that's that's that's ideal but a lot of people say you look at that shot at first so as long as I just get on this side of the four and then they kind of let it go and they get way on that side of the floor they get thin and then and things can start to get out of hand that's got to recognize what that third ball looks like when you're playing position on the one but from like the save from the three to four that's one of the things that I watch real carefully playing position two balls to the side pocket is if you're not just right you're gonna have to run the cue ball a lot so you're gonna have to earn your shape on the next shot yeah one thing about side pockets is to me it kind of becomes obvious on when you should play side pocket position but it it promotes all if you like you said get a little online it starts to promote a lot of funny little strokes you got to make kit or spinning the cue ball and this and that to get back in line exactly travel the cue ball speed you no longer on the line of your position but just it just complicates the game speaking of the side pocket and easy nine in the side and attend to get on to the second round quick race there and you don't want to say any of these matches are a foregone conclusion but you would have to say Jason was a decent little favorite there and and got the job done will see both these guys back sure the world ranked II would tell you that exactly well Jeremy Jones and myself George tha will be back at 5 p.m.

Predator is really working this…a six minute introduction. That being said, I am very grateful for the games being shown on YT. Thanks!
In the Things That Cannot Be Unseen department, the depiction of the globe behind the panther's head in the Predator logo looks like a howler monkey looking up and to the left, close-set eyes and all.

so, ah, yeah, that guy that's trying to look ominous is not a player he's got the 7 for life.
And what was that? "more accurate"? "more run outs"? I know i've got the commercial but can i get that in writing? lol, ah Predator you crack me up.

I appreciate having George's mic turned down to about a 3/10 like this, but don't forget about 2 and 1 guys – those are valid options too. I mean heck we could even try zero just for fun?
