[Applause] you [Applause] the idea of rebirth started when I first came to Florida in 1997 and I loved what the shaft did work you did for the player and I realized well there's technology out there that we have not explored yet I really wanted to see cues designed for people for each player rather than one shaft fits all we're chipping that this year we're making the first of our first product or custom revoked shaft 20 years now you'll be looking for a wooden shaft like my hands tooth it just won't be there it'll go the way of those you know the skis have tennis racquets golf clubs none of those products that may had a wooden Honda but they all were at one time just the way it's gonna be you know if if you had a wooden shaft and you got a carbon fiber shell and nobody saw either which one would you pick when we play pool we use every side of the tip all around so that consistency is very very important straightness is more critical than any other game out there then you add accuracy flexibility stiffness when you talk about nodes pivot point I mean it is you need to really understand you need to master the game we design every single shaft based on what the player needs to improve his game we want people to have the ability to use whatever joint they have on their butt and the Revo fits it we can give them a white ball plate a black ball plate any kind of material they want it made out of we can make we can give him any kind of tip and we could make the weight different heavier lighter so for example if they wanted three and a half outs and they wanted a certain tip the certain fall plate and then one of the five 1618 thread that's all doable it's a level of customization that others haven't seen before we design the different options not only with players not only with our engineers led by Paul but also with our coaches a pros were part of the process in the last two years why not walk through our manufacturing walk through our offices with our design team and I see as much passion in them as anything is possible and that's what we want to bring to the fans around the world the ability to help you play one ball or two balls better than your actual love being able to win more games and more matches and therefore have more fun each serve Revo experience so Revo shaft what we've done when you look at the process it's mind-blowing what would you so I've always believed that if you want to make the operation on the process that goes into building something foolproof so you don't have to check it but that said we have all those as many as I could figure out and we still have over 30 inspection points that every single shaft gets done our standards are much higher than wooden shaft now we can put those students in before Wood Wood moves and breathes and changes you have to build that tolerance ADEA wooden shaft there's no weaponry though it's perfectly the most accurate shaft is an by when I was a child it only took one shot to change my life I wanted to be the best [Applause] in Las Vegas at the Rio all suites hotel and casino we'd like to thank our other sponsors of the event Diamond billiard products Kamui and Omega now on to our match this is a winners side match round two Session two and let's introduce our players first up from the United States of America we have a nice round of applause for mr. Earl Strickland and his opponent from Germany we have a nice round of applause for mr. Ralph okay [Applause] gentlemen have a great match and you may lag for break a very good afternoon everybody and welcome to the real hotel here in Las Vegas it is the predator world ten ball championship the $100,000 added predator world ten ball championship proudly brought to you by Q sports international alongside Jeremy Jones I'm Jim whites we're going to be bringing you all the action here this afternoon and what a high-powered tilt we've got in store for you today two former world champions two Hall of Famers and two gentlemen that know each other's games inside out and he talked about 13 world champions former world champions one of reigning world champion is as well but probably no two players in the event have more combined titles than these guys and not just run-of-the-mill titles you're talking about the biggest titles in the world now with a dry break and the opening opening frame by Earl Strickland a shot on the one it's an alternating break format three-point rule in effects on any combination of three balls have to pass that head string and balls pocketed count as balls having passed the head string so a dry break is is usually a formula for failure in this format and Strickland knows that only too well and I don't think you'll see Ralph do too much with this one ball just try and get by the eight with the cue ball to get a shot on the two it may not fall with the best I know he's over cut this he's over cut this and not not something you see from Ralph too much on an open shot we all know how great he is with the cue ball and percentage play but he can also pocket them balls it was sorry Jeremy I was just gonna say girl was warming up a little earlier and he he had a wait band that he put on his cueing arm tried it and he's not wearing it now I don't think he did anything unconventional in his first match he ate one win over hungry sander tot so he played real well there against a quality player so it's not broke don't change it it's a little flick off the eighth that's a perfect position he'll probably just bounce one rail out for the 5 in the corner not a reason to come for this side ok that cue balls got to go and that's just a result of a little bit of a thick hit on the floor to the pocket well as you said I haven't seen player got a chance I know he's been playing some but I don't got the chance to see him playing it while and just really uh no manipulations as far as ok that's he's got a speeds gonna be a little much there and I may get to see a long pot up in the corner if he wants to go for it but no nothing really off as far as a standard length cue no weights the bridge isn't built up just a regular glove put on old a little bit more he's not shy to experiment I think he called the cross side wow I was shot that ball just barely went by the night willing that cue ball to stop and he's gonna have to come with one more shot but he's I think he's got to roll it in the upper left eye just kiss off the 9 4 position on the 8th I've got a watch where the 9 is going though make sure it doesn't really stop the play on the 8 very quick to capitalize it looks like on sue K's miss still a tricky ten I wishes he had that long queue they used to use now a good as extension and he better pay attention to the clock he's got to announce the extension we're playing with a 40 second shot clock here each player allowed one extension per rack they both been told about it now I wouldn't expect Earl calling many extensions he rarely does secures the opening rack it was his break so it'll be su ke to break in the next Ralph su ke he defeated Mario he very good Austrian player eight-six enroute to the second round clash with Strickland a lot of mutual respect out there and I mean Ralph knows Earl and his game very well he'll just try and stay in his own bubble I think that's the key isn't it Jeremy yeah for sure just that's what it looked like I think it was you and I in the booth yesterday whenever he was playing sander taught and it just looked like it's what he did on that outer table kind of stuck to himself and really a big big rack out of being out of position on a few shots to get out right there for her own of course some contrasts and styles here figure Ralph to use that 40 second shot clock use quite a bit of it every shot where Earl won't waste much time but Earl does recognize problems so you can't maybe more titles than name day in the history of the game without knowing the game Paul made on the break it's got a thin back cut on the one in the corner it's definitely playable I have to turn the cue ball loose and I think he'll maybe have to cut it and throw it backwards to make it so he's looking at his options this year's event also sponsored by CSI cue sports International and Diamond billiard products Kamui as well as Omega billiards all quality names in the world of cue sports just looking at this I guess if you can get the one by the age or older cue ball behind the four but I think the one's gonna go yeah I wasn't so sure and he and he kind of looked at that shot four right from the get and didn't really give up much more options as far as the safety I could have something similar to what Earls probably gonna do here whichever may run the cue ball back behind the four as well try to play the one down table he could chip the one and put the cue ball probably on the back row behind the two but more I think he's okay to come back where he's at with the cue ball now yeah it's a devastating safety there and you see the nine and two have the have the kicks kind of cut off a bit so he's gonna have to bend this cue ball head downward on it to try and go three rails in between the two nine and catch the one coming out like he's pointing now I don't think it lays natural with the top English Jim I think I think you're gonna see him elevate here I think it'll Bend too much we're top English Oh get into that nine ball yeah this is tricky this is a tough hit oh and one tween the two and the nine Jeremy yeah and like I said if he hits it with top I think he's got a chance to either go into the nine or come along and catch the six go around it's at light it should be okay all right he went right into the two yeah it's still a pretty messy table and the three foul rule in effect yeah but you'll see once he gets the one cleared and the two cleared those two kind of open everything up so he'll play some type of short position maybe on the – I think just draw the cue ball back for the two in the upper left and then you'll see the table developed jam the six would be much more open the eight will be much more open so these first two shots probably the key to get in the second game that should be good enough actually that's pretty much ideal besides being dead straight but you'd rather have this than being dead straight on the rail with the cue ball yeah he didn't want to be quite so straight on this five sixes wide open but and the key is the sevens real handy just said about bother you so much just because it's seven so nice oh I don't know if you got there and there's no reason not to get there you can see how open the table is on the left side and this is the that this ends up costing I'm the rack this is the type of mistake that could really cause problems for a row going home with this match a nice shot there just subtly curving around the eight is there anyone in the game it's got more shots than Earl Strickland well there's maybe one or two that's close to equivalent but you can't see probably more and a guy that usually and used to be really thrived on the TV table okay little squeak her little body movement there but got it down but not only he really adapted to the condition as well but just a guy that didn't get beat very often coming down an attorney to nothing and that one against sue Kay's break for a couple anxious moments in there but he's holding himself together pretty well I mean you just know that Sookie is gonna come back at him it's the nature of Ralph Ralph as a competitor he's a dog so he'll at some point Strickland's gonna have to weather a storm pretty powerful match is going on just on the outskirts – as we've already noted the winner of this match will play Alex Kazakh since Skyler Woodward that's one of the matches going on in the outskirts and I see koh panyee is playing Alex Peggy Lyon just on one of the side tables we get to see if we can boot up that iPad and have a look at some of these update you want some of the outside matches and we're getting all refreshed you can see – nothing here coping me and Alex bag line tied at one apiece Kazakh stew nothing over Scott Woodward scratch on the break prime opening now for Ralph su ke cope coping chunk playing Danielson shrilling want nothing Carlos be Auto and Masato still haven't gotten on the board at 0-0 Dennis Ghraib Ignacio – one – Dennis grape Billy Thorpe leaves John moral want nothing and from Holland mr. bee Subash leading Tyler star early in that match 1-0 he'll try and keep you abreast of what's going on on the outside tables and as we focus on the Strickland tsuki match here and that break given the way the ball is lay right now he's looking he really wants to get somewhat pinpoint on that for will excuse me on the three to get to the for like one good thing though is the sevens right there near it so he can't play from a couple positions on the four if he needs to play from above he'll bump to seven and I think that's what you're gonna end up seeing but it's important to get on the three handy because you'll see that nine there the nine would there that side of the table is pretty open he's got a little funny here Jim he's gotten too thin to pull it past the nine so now he's gonna go three rails for the three on the side maybe ok maybe not just coming to the center he's definitely follow fallen out of position yeah and I just wonder what what was he really wanting to do from the two to the three cuz didn't take much time after you shot the one like he got where he wanted on the two was just willing to take this shot on the three but I don't know the path of the cue ball it's not easy to fit it to draw to the side rail come to the bottom rail bounce up for the fort say getting that gap between the ten seven so this tells me maybe just rubbing this four ball yeah yeah that's a second unforced mistake from Ralph's ookay open balls he doesn't normally miss yeah that was a funny shot trying to shoot with inside English soft enough to hold position in between them balls but hard enough to be able to draw to the side rails now Earl's got to just take this and draw it back hopefully just past the nine I don't think he'll come all the way back where he's at now he let it rip he's gonna need something friendly it might get all the way up for the four wow I think it did get up there and now I can go three rails right in between the eight nine I believe four back position on the seventh that's a little wide so I don't know he may just have to cut the seven from above oh he could cut this it's not easy though because he stretched tough shot very tough shot and again he's going for the extension the back end of his cue as you noted Jeremy he'll be stretching out he may elect to play safe he I don't think he'll take the bank on I think if he goes offensive he'll be cutting this ball he could I mean if he went stretched this is the type of bank you may go for but it looks like the H is real close to being in the way I think he's gonna cut it in they collide with the eight off of four cushions it's a pretty confident stroke to ease it in a lot of guys really want to had a lot more speed to those thin cut shots so a good sign for Earl Strickland another funny one because he may be going into the eighth if he had c8 a hair thick to the pocket he may be going into the 10th excuse me yeah that was the issue well here's the shot he was practicing before the mat started that's usually the bread my bread and butter were balls long straight balls full length he was hit and right before the match started a little much on the speed I think right kind of because he didn't hit it horribly and just kind of made the pocket excuse me become a little more narrow yeah pivotal rack this should get tsuki on the board and it looked like even strictland applauding I wonder if that's a little sarcastic though because he's probably still dwelling on that missed nine and I'm wondering are these our two most veterans in the tournament you might say well they're both on the same street Ralph's fifty years of age now in Earl's 56 yeah so I'm thinking I just can't recall right off the top of my head two gentlemen older I know I'm probably missing somebody we talked about it the other day that my opinion most sports these days are coming younger a younger man's for younger ladies sport it's just getting younger in general well just a quick look through some of the players list here and if there's anybody older than Earl I don't see him son jumping out at me a few of the Japanese players that have made the way over even around the game for a long time but again no I don't think anybody's on Strickland's Street so you might have the two elder statesmen facing off here rack number four okay that's when you could miss him did you notice he broke from what was his left and he came across the right side of the one I called the Brooklyn side sometimes but with the templates not only playing 9-ball but tent ball as well it's gives you that's one of the better chances of not making a ball in the break when you cross that one over I'm funny here can't really get position Jim so I'm not sure the future I'm trying to make the one is there looks like he's edging it coming two rows right behind the tent trying to polar opposites in terms of personality and their mannerisms at the table Ralph as you'd expect very staunch emotionless and Earl lets everybody know what he thinks just about on every shot yeah this is a shot I think he's kind of trying he's got a call to seven and even if he's playing safe because there's so much an element of making it right how easy so we're cutting it into the top and I'll tell you Ralph so handy with the cue ball decision-making but a little early in this match there's been a few miss it's a safety he played trying to bank the one by the eight earlier and put the cue ball behind the four didn't really ever look like it was on wow what a stroke he doesn't he's got the bottom of the two those should be able to get a snooker he's got more Q power than anybody I've ever seen though on a pool table some of the shots this guy can play and he's brave enough to play a lot of them you know the guys these days out of the new ones uh I kind of always comment that it seems to me jeffrey DeLuna a lot of Q power one of the reasons is he doesn't lose form when he really cranks it up a lot of guys in our game today you don't you don't really need a hundred percent very often or even close to it when you're playing the game it's usually somewhere max is somewhere around seventy percent on a shot so some of the guys lose form and take make a little bit when they try to redline it you might say but it seems to me DeLuna or just like Earl he can go maximum with the Q speed and still stay a really great form it's just kind of getting a gap oh okay [Applause] the space between the 5 and the 3 girls had a quick look at it just to see if that will afford the angle to be able to get to the 2 yeah I think he's looking at maybe jumping over the edge of the fives just to get a good kick on the on the 2 ball because the kick is not easy and with the 6 and the 8 have that congestion on the side rail it's important not to give up all at hand here I went right around it that's amazing right around everything like Earl has never been a proponent of the jump queue Jeremy little surprised that even carries one around for years thought should have to jump with your plane queue on it as far as changing the advantage Earl was had it that was the rule that used to be a big advantage for her okis and it considered him the greatest jumper with the full queue that's ever lived that's a quite a bit of drawl there and now he's elevated over the eight and a funny angle and may be fortunate enough that he can roll it bump the for seeing us how he over drew this ball so a little nerves for for Ralph that you don't see much of too often but a little nervy to start starter match my problem is here does he knock the forum to a good position he's gonna have to bank it now and I think it offers where he can hit this with a highball and still get around the 10th that's one of those again as long as you don't hit it too hard to cue ball should develop and get get around the tenant cuz it goes somewhere towards the six-four position on the fine okay so some struggles here to start this match now here you just got to float the cue ball at the 7th try to get them up behind the 7 I believe does he have an offensive shot oh yeah you got to leave it long on a 4 6 combo if you do let him see it in if you hope to maybe bury the cue ball behind the 7 so you'll just tickle the four ball here and if you don't get the snooker at least your opponent has got to play a tough combination on a four six from some six feet away seven feet away Oh Billy Thorpe out to a three nothing lead on John more after a huge win over his roommate a hero good friend Shane ran boning last night at the 7:30 round yeah he broke probably as well as we've seen anybody break on this table that's one thing about our team really but they all break the balls really well on that one team very close so it's just out of sorts and it's weird cuz you don't see it very often from from Ralph I was getting as many chances as he could have possibly wished for oh now that's inexcusable yeah and it's almost like you took it for granted just a piece because it was a little thin he was spinning in the bowl in but I think Ralph can get real first here and get around key to this one is don't let up on it oh he ain't get to the ball nevermind I thought he had to hit use the top rail oh it's gonna be too much so not too much control the swing just yet yeah both players really struggling to this point you know rack four it's still fairly early but we're not accustomed to seeing this from either of them no opportunities they've had yeah especially yeah both of playing really well in their first rounds well that's not gonna get it either I don't think is it okay he's got the sucker but it wasn't far for being off sometimes Jeremy can be difficult to maintain that focus and stay positive when you've had so many opportunities and you throwing them away you know living in the present really a formula for success in pool yeah you gotta leave the good ones and the bad ones behind me when you make a great shot you got to get on to the next and leave that one behind you a lot of people easier said than done and you're told that about the bad ones but it actually applies to bozo he's trying to bring the cue ball back here behind the tent let the five go up into the 8 see what happens isn't gonna have to do too much with the cue ball here especially if he ate doesn't if the eight passes the nine really doesn't have to do much now if it doesn't pass he may have to just come one rail behind the behind he ate my shoes to seven and just maybe bump the nine that gives you a good good reference to go into that nine ball and like I said if the eight passes the nine he'll just stay on this side of the eight no reason to try and bump anything or take any chances necessarily want to be on the rail though you might have enough angle here to swing this cue ball get it back down for the 10 you have to force it well Strickland took the opening to racks and Sookie has replied I think a pretty fair result both players have had their turns of missed opportunities I think a tutu very much still in the balance race to eight not sure what Ralph is chatting about with John lame and our referee doesn't look like much you can see our score here too to go and peggle at two-two as well Kazakh sand Woodward four to one down as Woodward but at the table coping chunk also tied it to a piece of Danny Olson the ATO and Masato tied at two apiece grape trailing at nachio three two – Billy Thorpe still kind of chugging along now for nothing over John Mora your fellow Canadian sorry about that Jam but it's early Tyler steinhouse come back to get the leadoff bestir Bosh two to one so Strickland will break in ranked number five now he had a scratch on the brake and his last want to shore that up doesn't take a hundred percent we've talked about that just a good solid pop seems to be a secret for the success here I got a little kiss on the cue ball again now that's gonna knock the cue ball all the way down table with a long shot on the one but he does have a look at the one cue ball though got kissed to the rail so this is gonna be a touch you want does he does he hit that one and trying to float the cue ball towards the 4/7 and maybe use the two as a blocker of some sort you'd like to run the cue ball but it's kind of dangerous there's a lot of gaps I don't think he's gonna get to cover the one up very well so look at trying to play off the right like that and just see what I could do just a little more protection with that shot well he's got sookay jacked up over the fore and I won't see it sometime he's in the trees a little bit the tall pines playing all ball fouls gotta be aware of that four ball and she's got a little speed on this get the one up behind the five and that was the problem there I would have really instead of just behind the five I think maybe thinner and harder just to make sure you're getting it behind the six and if it leaks up a little bit you're gonna be alright it was tough though being elevated I just used that group of balls there the five nine and ten and all that this is gonna leak and these if you let him see a piece of it these are the types of little errors that make a huge difference yeah I don't think girls thrilled with his effort there well I don't think he could ever stop the jump queue but still think about what type of jump you're gonna leave your opponent that makes a big difference we're also gonna try and knock this one in the top right corner for sure nothing wrong with leaving guys jumps but you almost motivated when it's a makeable one that has position also it's just gonna get in the gap I think so and it's gonna offer just enough angle to where he may be able to come right in back in between the one five down table now it just it just lays up for a two seven combination but what else you gonna do Thank You V tries to manipulate the cue ball he's taking a big chance that was just Earl not staying steel kind of up on the shot pretty quick he almost cross hit the cue ball to plated with a bit of right hand English and kind of swiped out it no not the best of fundamentals that's why that shot went straight against ookay he's getting used to being bridging over balls so scruffy matched so far my girl should probably kick behind this try to hit just a little bit before the side with the one I believe again this is that angle the where it could leak out the cue ball could come right at the six on you if you over hit it like that that's the problem with that shot you have to you have to ignore getting the one all the way down table on certain angles you just got to let the one stay in the center of the table that way the cue ball really sticks and you see it quite often when guys don't recognize that angle to over hit it in the cue ball will leak nothing easy for Ralph oh no I don't think it's one he'll even attack with don't believe so it just looks a wee bit spent unless he's going to the right if he's going to the right he can attack yeah otherwise he's just kind of trying to play safe means that one to slow down a bit he's got he's got an Earl right with the side pockets kind of in the way for the rail first to try and make it and all this a much more attackable shot for su k and it looks like he's got the angle you can get on the two to the same corner just coming down to have a look to see where he can position that cue ball and going at this one yeah looks like he's got a maybe just stunted a hair oh maybe he could just roll forward it looks like he's needs a little bit of punch to get by the ninth oh yeah just a touch of speed that way he just kind of changed the angle a little bit still not out of the woods though he's got to go up and down the table here right up and down the middle get back to the three in the side pocket that looks pretty perfect and much more of the control that we're used to seeing from Ralph's ookay skyward now with the 9 and 10 try like 4 to 2 so trying to fight back there against Alex Kazakh speed did it get away from him again no that's that's ok that's actually pretty perfect he can just draw up the table now 13 world champions making up the field here in the predator world 10 ball the inaugural winner of the world 10 ball championships Darren Appleton went down to Alex Peggy Lyon his first round I am people really tidy this rack there's got to be a little concerned about the tent ball you may be able to get deep enough to go by the tent but I think you're flirting with the night while doing that so you may see him just stay above it it's still some concern of the tent okay you've got a lot out of that and you know what it Ralph did and Ralph said to himself if I never hit it hard enough to get by behind the tent it can't happen it's so really nice with the cue ball Earl in a different type of pose with this head in his hand this will be three in a row for Ralph Strickland applauding and a 3-2 advantage will bring Sookie to the table to break in rack number six he's a very good athlete – isn't he early plays tennis – a pretty good level golf – a pretty good level I was actually a tennis player in high school as well believe it or not I didn't know that Jim and I played a lot of golf with Errol but never got a chance to play tennis because of course I haven't played tennis mmm I think did you know Tony Ellen I did he and I gambled at tennis when I was on the road whenever I was younger I think that might have been the last time I played tennis if I was about 22 I think remember a Canadian player by the name of John horse fault oh yeah he was a professional tennis player oh wow so he played on some of the secondary circuits yeah Andy turned pro and golf now he's really the golf pro at a course in DC Wow usually when you've got good hand-eye coordination in one sport it translates to a few others well and they're so similar I comment to people about that all the time that we all know a few people whether it be guys or girls that are good at like 4 or 5 different sports and you wonder how they have enough time to master somewhat of that many sports and it's not really that it's just the motions are eerily similar from sport to sport now they're done a little differently but when it comes to the timing of things they're very similar well the scratch from sookay forging the opening here for Strickland five looks like he goes by the six or the eight into the bottom corner he's lost the cue ball a little bit there though Wow nowhere near where he wanted to be now and I don't know if you notice how quickly he shot the one after the ball in hand and not Santa's Earl's a slow player by any means but if there's a little bit of congestion you need to think it through a little bit and I don't know usually will I was watching him yesterday and it was from some distance but the pace seemed a little bit more mild but nothing to better to get a guy in a stroke good ball in hand now Ralph looking to make it four games in a row after trilling – nothing and I think it's fair to say though Jeremy that Earl has had an opportunity in each one of those racks that Ralph is one have been convincing by any stretch – I've said many times never really says how just who you just move on your name goes to the right-hand side of the draw and you have a look to see who your next opponent is you worry about the next match go pass this a little bit so still not total control the cue ball four wraps okay and that that will be a little alarming for Ralph for sure win or lose here well then they changed the cloth on this table yesterday morning so chances are it's a little speedier than the outside tables yeah but it's still the grip of the cue ball and they did they didn't change the rail cloth so just just yeah just a little bit off with the speed I say more than anything well another opportunity that normally Sookie would be capitalizing on without hesitation but neither one of these players are firing on all cylinders right now you almost get the feeling it's going to be whichever one of them misses the least three three Strickland back on serve now a little slower walk back to his chair now we've got the stands full here in a big crowd standing around the outer tables as far as those are concerned coping he up four to two over Alex pag Alliant they're on a little time out kazakh s– v 3 over sky woodward coping chunk 3 2 over Danny Olson are now 3 3 I could see it from from a distance Carlo piata trailing 4 to 2 Masato nacio ahead of Dennis grade 4 to 3 Billy Thorpe now for two to john moores put two on the board and tyler star leading bestir bosch mark bestir Bostaph holland 3 to 2 nice result their shot on the one well the piers that he might have a shot he could certainly see it can you see enough to make it I thought he could just from the overhead the initial overhead I looked at it I liked it but maybe not maybe he's got to spin it in with a little bit of left like to just attack with a straight okay that should develop well it's still gonna shoot at it but good thing is he could just come one rail back across Tennessee here's to undercut that's gonna be okay again a tricky shot made to look easy from Strickland he has that ability too and that's that's the kind of stuff he needs but you got to pay attention to the ball drawers easy you got to realize it can't afford to get too thin on the on the eight doesn't want to play the eight and the side on that small angle so now he's probably gonna have to float this seven a bit don't think he's gonna go up and down those types of strokes you want to stay away from Jim was still such a huge fan favorite that'd be in our own house in over after the noon match watching some amateurs place and people from back home and friends and just about everybody in the crowd is so busy but they all said well we're sticking around to watch Earl play at 2:30 well you know there's a big opportunity the Amateur Championships are going on the BCA League Championship is going on all around us here too and a big chance for a lot of these amateurs to come and watch these people they only ever see on TV or on YouTube and meet some of the living legends in the sport they're here and it shows you how much they love it they're taking time off in between competing themselves it's not like they're just here on holiday a lot of them are trying to win some nice amateur titles here strickland back just in front four three that was a good break and tidy run out how the co-brothers the two greatest brothers to ever play pool I'm trying to think I know there's been some brother tandems that have got some great players Joan Fred Davis if you go back to World Snooker how many world titles they had between them well we'll just say pool for now until I get educated Horace and Walter linndrum from Australia – there's there's a handful of people in the world of cue sports that but pool thank you right just off the top of my head I want watching both them I'll just love watching the play that pitted me of timing and striking the cue ball perfect is a harsh word or a hard word to use all the time but really really well anyways you know ralph was trying to figure out where the one is gonna go because he's got it can't just chipped at six and he's gonna it's gotta hit it with a hair speed and dinner on the six so the one's gonna get away from him a bit and the problem is he doesn't have much angle meaning he the cue ball he can't move it easily but on one line because he's kind of straight in on the combo doesn't want this to get away from him so he's gonna have to probably follow the ball or play safe they they follow the ball with the combination shot and let the cue ball one kind of come down and tabled together this could end up getting them into trouble though funny thing is don't don't take your eye off the prize that's what always the problem was that congestion down there I was always gonna be risky though Jeremy though I was always gonna be headed towards the bottom corner now he does have a 1:7 combination that's on offer some distance between the cue ball and the one and Ralph was already given us indication he's not in top form yeah she met this though it's a nice shot a nice reward just kind of accepting what he had to with that first shot on the one six he knows he couldn't move the cue ball much but he played a nice speed to get the one open down a good spot to tie our match skyy Woodward fighting over there down five to four now yeah I'm surprised you've seen as many one-sided matches as you have seen in the early going with such a quality field but with the alternating break format you expect to see a lot more of those eight six eight seven matches we've seen a few but not as many as I would have expected well the pressure always occasionally you get a wave of matches or handful of matches or the guy getting beats really not playing that bad but he just has a break a couple dry breaks and then the rolls go against you a little bit then there's pressure because you're down to four to one and you five five two and easy to make it mistake because like this match here we got a nail-biter what looks like it's gonna be four four and we've seen it quite a few mistakes by both players so far and now the match is closed but now the other matches not near as many mistakes besides that maybe some dry breaks like I said of course occasional fumble but we saw some landslides behind it it doesn't matter how you get the drama as long as you get it how you know this came to true sport just like the other ones you never can't predict how how the game's going to go and as tight as it is it's just gonna make those mistakes should any of them creep into each other's game it's gonna make them a little bit more pronounced they'll be magnified so again we've seen a much better inning from Strickland the last time he was at the table and that was a much more solid Ralph's ookay it's no wonder if they've both put things right at four or four and I'm much shorter race now anybody really impressed you out there Jeremy if you had to pick a winner right now Wow bunch of coping right here looks pretty solid I'll tell you that Kazakh says played great even though he's only up five for this guy's played well let me think here I'll tell you probably the guy the guy I might go with is this as VB and I know he's on the one loss that how you like that he's just there ahead and grab that world title yet he's here on US soil he had an early loss of the ninth Walt fought hard so you know he mentally he's there trying to win which is a normal thing but I just like his chances now well just to let everybody know and the reason Jeremy can can go with someone on the losers bracket if he gets to the last 16 there's a redraw eight players from the left-hand side of the draw play the eight winners they'll draw in to them and it's sudden-death elimination then so Shane can get to the last 16 you're not the only person that's picked chainman bowling to win well I think if he does get there it'll be he'll be one of the final eight on the loss side and I think if you're one of the final eight on the winter side in that position he's probably the last guy you want to see building up momentum through the losers side did the breakdown speaking of building up momentum it's just like right there that six ball you kind of got down one stroke and you saw you hit it a little wide to the pocket so not figuring it's kind of being issue but just really make sure of what he's doing like you said Jeremy stole a crowd favorite five four in front Strickland and I'll tell you the other guy that and I'm gonna stick to the Americans but the other guy that I was gonna mention right before him is the guy that beat him last night yeah just like you said nobody's probably broke the balls as well as Billy just yet and I was talking to Johan earlier and I just kind of feel like Billy's stepped up a little bit of the games jumped a little one and he still got some room for improvement but he's been working hard on some things and I think it's gonna start to pay off because he's a fighter that's for sure he's get that look about him too doesn't he yeah he's he looks like a warrior someone you wouldn't mind going to battle with right well five four here on the main table from the CSI arena I hope you're enjoying all this top plate pool action that we're bringing your weight the predator world ten ball championship hundred thousand added thirty thousand to the eventual winner that could have been a little bit because that last break he crossed it over and broke dry so kind of making sure he hit the one on the on the side he broke from and consequently caused him a scratch at the side that was on I was on ralph was no unlucky kisses there now I believe residing at Pennsylvania is that correct he was in New York for some time and I think he's around the Philly area originally from North Carolina oddly enough was raised in my hometown actually a Baytown Texas I think they moved there when he was about 12 I really learned and blossomed around the Houston area went all the great players and in the country and some others were hanging out because the tournament's interaction was so so huge his dad worked for the I believe it was the Houston Chronicle for many many years but when I first start playing for being from Bay town you know we're always you want to be like Earl hunt you want to real I didn't you know I didn't realize who he was I didn't know pool was so big until about six months into planning I started to look things up and hear things amazing amazing guy yeah well we've all got players that we've looked up to in our careers and you know with a lot of these players here I'll bet you a lot of the Americans I even remember talking to – Nick Varner Mike's Eagle Hall of Famers and even Johnny Archer and they said nobody closed the deal like Strickland and that's something else coming from those two because I mean of course Johnny in the nineties and well beyond so many titles but many consider Siegel and Earl to be the two greatest ever in the finals just when they got to the finals they just rarely ever lost just had a quick glimpse of Ralph in his chair again you won't see that expression change but he's in trouble in this one Jeremy yeah it's got to recognize that town a service break Carl's broke the balls pretty well one scratch on the break earlier that consistent as far as making balls and the ones gonna get opened up again for a little bit of a thin shot but and down the tables a little funny you can see some room on the top half of your screen going up and down the table but he may use the seven to slow the cue ball down I'm not sure how much he can get on the low part of the ball okay he's gonna try and go up and down now this ball could easily fall towards the three either on the backside of it off the second rail or coming on the first side like this and that's the problem with the new felt it's just he's playing topspin – yeah then you got to recognize that but the problem is if you hit downward a touch you bring in that corner pocket down there – maybe one rail scratching so a very subtle shot believe it or not on those types it's almost not like you have to really threaten plane and as light as you can going up and down the table just so you hold the line on the cue ball a little better okay pretty nice play here he called the eight I believe though but he's left it to where he's not gonna get it back but it's not easy Ralph isn't ever gonna give this this opportunity back to too early we haven't gone over that rule we're playing call shot and if you happen to make a ball out of turn meaning like that when you didn't call it's the incoming players option to shoot or let you shoot again yeah and the ten has to be meet at the end if you make the ten at any time and Alex Peggy Lyon made the mistake he played a combination made the ten thought the match was over and in actuality it just responded and he looked at his opponent and sheepishly said yeah and I was at the players meeting too I was wondering if ralph was playing that safety and I can't blame him on it he was in a funny situation but most likely you're not going to get him welded on the four okay so Ralph Scott now what he needed to fall in hand and this 11th game and it was a rules break so a prime situation and not only get out here maybe tie it with a break and run game 12 as far as he's going that way but with ball in hand I thought it may just go one rail out to the middle of the table but two rails is nothing wrong with that make sure he's not short on the speed though I think he's just okay they wanted to be fairly straight on this floor slow roll this and could go past the six if he needs it but he can hold it I think yes he can they're all suffering it's gotta be stretched here and immediately knew it taking any time to go get his extension we talked about it as ralphus one that stays in shape hard trainer meaning many hours at the table and has been in great form and Europe right up there and the rankings so you know this is just a little out of sorts this match to start but now start to clean things up the last probably 25 30 minutes as we'll get back to 6/5 and he'll have the break in the next so pretty much on serve but that was an important track Ralph recognized that I got some updates for you now I see this match at six five coping and Alex pag alliant alex is at the table trailing 5-2 but it looks like it should be five three here shortly Kazakh six four over Woodward coping chunk five for him at Danny Olson you gotta be aware of the qualifiers I think Danny to be in one of the qualifiers I believe from Dallas those guys are here to win Carlo Beato felt like six to three against Masato the nacio and a grape tied at five apiece Billy Thorpe up six three over John Warren bestir Bosh and Tyler star knotted at four I'll get a little chat with the crowd my opinion if it's a neuro crowd they needed not maybe respond so much we gotta let him stay focus yeah he's writing it nearing the end of the match here saying that the best way possible we don't want any distractions a lot of movement on the rack there he's gonna get a nice starter on the one three balls made on the break this is a great chance for su K I think he'll shoot this in the corner he's got a shot on the side but doesn't really offer getting much closer to the two ball and much in line with the two ball four position yeah I would like to have been just a bit straighter on this too and it's just kind of funny to go around it forward drawn above it is not easy short sat on that goes in the opposite side up one of the upper corners it's just one of them it just got in that one little area even though it's an easy shot nothing wrong with making the tube just caning easy position on the three well not so easy looks like now he's float behind okay and a really nice bump there if he hits that more voice he's right on top of it no shot on the three I liked what he was doing though he was trying to get for the opposite side pocket I believe yeah but he kept the percentages working for him didn't he he would have had to have been unlucky not too bad a shot at three right taking no chance of getting snookered that's for sure a little flat here so he's gonna have to draw his cue ball it appears think he can work this to the side rail maybe it's close a good thing is he can handle shooting the seven from all right he's going forward so that means he's just coming to about where the head string is coming out to rails real mildly he went to the third rail okay pretty nice all the felon fans here in attendance and all our viewers at home watching this or looks like they're gonna be treated to quite a match here while intents and purposes Ralph should clear up make these last two and get to six six I'm very much in the balance this match and both players really shored up some early mistakes and I played pretty solid the last half of this match 10 down six-six it is ralph lead at one point three two in this match apart from that he's never been in front but it's going along at a pretty good pace and you compare it to a lot of the matches on the outside tables and ralph was very measured in his approach playing ten ball playing any of the cue sports he's not gonna pull the trigger normally before he's very confident what he's doing it surveyed the land a little bit pisacas now on the hill gets sky woodward seven to four looks like Danny Olson is at the table looking to tie that match with coke and chunk that's sick at five five Carl obiano trailing mossad of six to four now Billy Thorpe on the hill seven to three did he scratch he lost the cue ball he had that at the beginning of the match and now it could be the one at the end this that could have been an Earl's last shot just depends on what happens this racket the one after you can see it's pretty easy sometimes they'll a super-nice and after getting on that – it's shoot the for stop shoot the six come up eight over the side nine near the 10 just kind of one of those you like when it's six six and q-ball didn't get kicked into the side that was a miss hit from Strickland yeah for sure we've all really drawls nice that's actually perfect there you can just flick this and with a little write English gain a touch of an angle on the six doesn't have to draw it once you get like this you should be a good be able to go into the real quickly and let the cueball check up ralph uses a lot of drag strokes to manipulate the cue ball when you played below it okay he meant wrong with that he decided to play with the hair of inside come down below the six and just look at Earl and his cherries again he's just peaked up now but he wasn't even watching watching Alex Kazakh so they're Manuel how much has he improved the last two years two and a half years my first Psalm probably four years ago I guess at the u.s. in Virginia there at the tournament it was a solid player but knew he was gonna prove it to prove all the way to what now top three ranked players in the world yeah he's a solid player and he's one you're gonna be paying attention to a lot of tournaments to come you know what they all try hard out here but just get the feeling he's one of those that's at the top of that list try hard list okay speaking of trying hard yes sir well Jeremy you noted that Strickland may not get out of his chair again tidy clearance from Sue k76 and he'll break in the next so a good break here and the Kaiser could be through to the last 16 as we said there were some mistakes at the beginning but he really tidied those up I'd love to finish with a break and run here after not his best match but like Jim said just trying to get to that that final 16 on the winners that puts him in a spot to where you can win one more and he'll get to that final single elimination bracket template being used here in the CSI arena to this this event I'm used for the Las Vegas 9-ball open and it's been employed here players are not allowed to check the rack I haven't heard any complaints as far as the way the balls have been racked yeah he's made some the ones near the cue ball the four is very open and the next max so he's made is that the four bar on the break yeah what a time what a time for a tailor-made break from sookay you may see him play it really simple it not gonna go for 240 could go forward don't get full on the four and draw back for the five Ralph really likes using the angles more but I don't see any problem with going forward I don't think he'll get too much angle to where he's he's going into something now it looks like he's punching out for more of an angle on the floor to run the cue ball okay he brought it on down see that's what I was wondering about if he's gonna get an angle going into that seven that's why I was very curious about going too far on that shot still he's close enough to the four you think he could he could draw it past the seven and get up somewhere around the center of the table and take that little cut shot on the five to come across for the seven you seen if he can avoid the seven good good great shot little light though right yeah he's lighter than he wanted you don't want to have to float these in not at this stage of the match want to be able to thump them in Dan this wouldn't be that big of a deal but you'll see that eight so doesn't want to shoot the seven from too much distance and on the wrong angle kind of depends on how he wants to play this I think he's gonna thread the needle going back and forth between the seven and eight just because he knows he wants to shoot the seven pretty close position like that I think that was worth it after this match concludes we'll have another one at five o'clock and then 7:30 to end day – rough trail six four at one point in this match here as much as he wanted there of course he didn't want to get straight to where he shooting the tent off the rail but a bit more angle on that one that desired I just float this in and come across the ten could be conceited now he came good when it mattered most one hall-of-famer takes care of another the Kaiser through he's in the last 16 the winner's bracket Strickland gonna have to fight his way through on the left-hand side of the draw well for Jeremy Jones I'm Jim white sure be a lot more action coming your way next one up five o'clock you won't want to miss it you you you

I almost always pull for Earl, but he just seemed to have his self-destructive attitude going (albeit at least more professional about it).

With all this technology, can one of you ass hats figure out a way to edit the racking?

I hope Earl drops at least one F bomb, racks his stick against his chair, and kicks up some dirt off the turf…all the while winning the match so I can see some more antics from more of his matches 🤓

Two "good" players playing "safe" so often in each frame makes me sick as a person who wants to learn these games. Don't want to see any more; upto 38:54b minutes is enough of a boring "gamesmanship"?!?
