Very pleasantly surprised! While I could guess from the time once Match 2 began that we would push to a third round, Ryota seemed to be clinging on very narrowly to me at the end of the second game. While I was rooting for Ryota in the third round because I normally support the one who's less likely to win in my opinion, he somehow managed to come back from that really sad failure of his Twinkle Tackle. I'm honestly impressed that Ryota managed to predict that Protect in the end and take out three of Sam's Pokemon with Moonblast. My younger self would be shaking if she knew that she definitely should not be taking those strategic moves off of her Pokemon in favor of Attack moves, because those are what really end up coming into play in a competitive match like this.
