over 70,000 here at Ford Field the hansgrohe Walton they're the two that tied it up a record crowd to see the championship and we're underway with North Carolina Kalin Lucas starts out on him man the man Walton is on Ellington shot by Deon Thompson from North Carolina now Michigan State with its first look [Applause] tab here on Saturday for the third straight time in the title game North Carolina faces a Big Ten opponent hits Emily slicing through and using the glass game Saturday points nine rebounds in North Carolina comes right answering back and a steal on the inbounds pass Washington speeds Thompson at soutane reaches in and only many people watch the tournament without the Divas the most meritorious honor age without question gym opening we talked about but in transition Spartans get it up ahead for the easy layup by draymond Green State the choke off lawson's penetration but it's back to Lawson he gets past logistical to take the baseline as well short Davis no race to the rebound picks it off the floor in scores and a steal right back by Lawson laser comes in step no leads to two more for North Carolina weight Allington put her shop for him to have an impact Michigan State's hit only three out of nine they've turned it over five times here is Tori Lucius [Applause] tough matchup here boy lucius defending [Applause] got the advantage and he's heading to the line for a three-point opportunity suit on on the fasten seat I'm playing behind him allows him to get sweet real estate inside and in it's just a pivot and a finished in suit time because he was out of position committed to foul that was the seventh team foul against Michigan State already and the second on suit on so that's a big issue as well and Thompson brings the lead to 18 and gone for Michigan State the size of Carolina overall just too much for Michigan State to handle inside and on the perimeter Hansbrough head up [Applause] two times on the floor with two fouls Davis too much size for the freshman draymond Green suit on working on Hansbrough websit an off the glass oh man he got him right square on the nose red morphs tilt down I don't care if you got a custom fitted mask for the occasion know you're gonna get hit like that exactly ran and that's broken already yeah he got him right with the forearm to Jim with Morgan's 12-point wind back to the regional final against Oklahoma Blake Griffin Memphis here's that one he's got a couple three [Applause] it's Lawson the hansbro and that combo does it one more time assists Lawson basket hand pro for nothing easy [Applause] found the sweet spot at the top of the he's had two tremendous jump between now and next season was conditioning and playing more basketball during the summer good first half total than the history of the championship game snaps it over Hansbrough with a prayer had the Morgan another steal the sixth of the half so no surge and no answer for Michigan State that is the largest halftime lead in championship game history and just filling it up tonight well for the tournament he's averaged 19 points a game on 50% shooting he's made 14 threes coming into tonight's game and he's added to that total with a couple here in the first half the senior and the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year [Applause] up to 13 sheets on open the game with a 3-2 time play Lawson with all these steps tonight he's got seven of them he just does a good job some of those were just thrown right to him though but he does a good job tracing the ball tional team and he was thrilled and that slides off the lemon rebound those two summers stolen the record that's number eight for Lawson an all-time championship record and Davis got the shot to go almost tapped it in volleyball style and he's going to the line has eased off the throttle a little bit there say hey mr. last five shots but you can end up straight thanks to Danny Green is that a knack for doing and really set out to get off to a great start tonight and did just that look the squeezes inside with the pass to green he converts sure we'll see not gonna let those kids that's what he said walks of the hansbro just five of nineteen this half under 30% improves the percentage and moves to the before our time in front of its quarry the ones really recognized tonight to govern play here championship game congratulations there's Lawson dad right in his hands he had only seven seconds had a disappointing night tonight Raymar Morgan who was outstanding in the semifinal game only a junior Bobby Frasor what phrase were taken in there you go he was a starter as a freshman that team that had the rebuild made all ACC freshman and there's his dad was a Hall of Fame coach in the high school ranks in his career back in Illinois better than 12 points of the target they all double-digit wins that timeout CB McGrath get him a hug Steve Robinson another assistant holiday and that Joe I look at this young Marcus skinnier they've been together for four years man's grow has what he wanted there's his father an orthopedic surgeon back in Poplar Bluff Missouri Coquelin on the floor moody and tanner this is what's getting a second chance beats the shot clock everything going Carolina's way it's been that captain showed everyone they were the best in college basketball [Applause] the performance from the start that could not have been [Applause] [Applause] pleasure to present the 2009 national championship trophy to coach Roy Williams and the North Carolina Tar Heel [Applause]

That was one solid UNC team. Michigan State really didn't have a chance.

Too bad for MSU to have to play this NC team man. That team was amazing. Sparty would’ve had a good chance to win against anyone else. 2nd title keeps alluding Izzo. Maybe this is the season they win. Wayne Ellington!! Man he had a sweet stroke in college and still has one for the pistons

Is this one of the multiple UNC title teams that cheated to win?

The most dominant tournament run in the history of the NCAAT. Won EVERY SINGLE GAME by double digits and made it look incredibly easy along the way. What a team that 2009 group was. The most dominant ACC team I've ever seen.

Seth Davis claimed that the 3 D's would beat Carolina. Defense, Determination and Destiny. Destiny? Why? Because Detroit was so messed up? Destiny happened, and UNC won, and won big. These garbage analysts wanted to make this a game. Did Seth Davis really believe that MSU would play so much harder than UNC because of the economic problems of Detroit, that they could beat a superior team. The MSU guys played for themselves, their school and their team. And UNC played for themselves, their school and their team. This destiny garbage is created by the media to create a storyline. The only team that is destined to win is the team that does win.

I have been a Carolina fan my whole life. Saw disappointing Championships losses in 77 & 81. But then here comes Jordan, He elevated the Tarheel program, winning in 82 & then being college POY in 83 & 84. There have been many great UNC teams but IMO the 2009 National Championship team was their best overall.
