I’ll be your avatar. Radish sprouts?
Okay. Garlic, chili, skate, and kimchi? I’ll add 3 slices of skate. 3 slices of skate. Let’s add some kimchi. 3 slices of garlic?
Like this. 2 slices of pork belly? Like this? A lot of ssamjang? I won’t be able to talk after I eat this. I won’t be able to talk for a minute.
Hope you understand. Let’s do this! *Thirsty Korean TV* Healthy drinking! Charm PD here! It’s the day after Thanksgiving. As you all know,
there are no parcel deliveries. So I searched delivery foods in my neighborhood. I found a skate samhap (skate + pork + kimchi) place. They specialize in southern food. They had Korean skate. And it’s been a while since I shot a skate video. The skate samhap was 95,000 KRW(80 USD). The price is insane. And skate jjim (steam-cooked skate).
It’s imported skate. I paid 45,000 KRW(38 USD) for this much. It’s very expensive.
FYI. They’re the only ones who sell skate
in my neighborhood. So I’m giving it a try. In total, this is $118. $118! So expensive! This is a bird’s eye view. The pork looks pretty nice. They also give you skate nose. There’s no liver though. Ripe kimchi and mustard kimchi. Like this. Skate. It’s Korean skate. The color is dark. And this is imported skate jjim. Let’s try it. How good could it be?
It’s so expensive. I’ll try it. (subscribe & like) I have to have makgeolli (rice wine). It’s Hongcheon Fresh Rice Makgeolli.
It’s a dongdongju. It’s very heavy. 1,700 ml. I’ll try it unshaken.
I don’t want to get a headache. To moms and dads that worked hard
for the memorial ceremonies. And to sons and daughters that were stressed
because of their uncles and aunts. Let’s drink this and forget all that. Charm! Charm! Charm~! First of all, the color looks like this. It’s Korean skate.
It definitely looks different. It looks different. It’s unique. I’ll try it by itself. It hasn’t been fermented that much. It has a right amount of deep flavor. It’s really Korean skate. Rather than a strong ammonia scent, it’s very subtle with a kick at the end. It’s not strong.
Beginners could eat this. It’s less stiff than imported skate. It doesn’t feel uncomfortable. It’s very chewy and tender. But it doesn’t have a texture
that pushes against your teeth. Drinking with you guys after coming home from holidays is so nice. Let’s try the skate nose. This is the nose. Lot’s of people like this. With a bit of salted shrimp. If you have a stuffy nose, eat skate nose. The stuffiness in your nose will melt away. It’s nice. It’s not very strong. It’s edible. I’m in the intermediate level. I’m not that good at eating skate. But this is enjoyable. Charm! Charm! Charm~! Hongcheon Makgeolli is very light. I’m not drinking the rice in the bottom.
I’m just drinking the top part. It sort of tastes like sake. It’s tasty. I’ll try the pork belly this time.
It looks properly made. It looks like proper pork belly. The skin is attached. Let’s make samhap. The color of the ripe kimchi looks legit. Dip the skate in sauce. Some chojang (vinegary chili sauce). Here, have a bite. Samhap.
Like this. It’s tasty. (x2) Samhap is more delicious. I’ll try one more.
I’ll make it quickly. This is Korean skate.
So the soft bones are… Imported skate has tough soft bones.
They’re hard to chew. But these are crunchy and easy to chew. I’ve also ordered skate jjim.
But I think it’s too expensive. Have a look, folks. Is it a fair price?
This is imported skate. It’s $38 for this much! It’s too expensive. The quality is very nice. I admit it has nice quality.
But it feels more expensive than eating at a restaurant. I’ll try it like this. The jjim is strong! I like it.
It’s a proper jjim. Charm! Charm! Charm~! The jjim has a strong flavor.
It’s a very nice anju. Check out the meat tearing along the grain. With some water parsley. This is cabbage soup. I paid $118 for all this. But if you choose imported skate, it’ll be $38 cheaper. The total would be $80. If you order imported skate, it’ll be $38 cheaper. Is skate that expensive? Let’s try the nose again. This isn’t nose.
It must be the body. After trying the jjim, this feels weak. Charm! Charm! Charm~! Hongcheon Makgeolli is very nice! Is anyone here from Hongcheon?
This is a nice dongdongju (type of makgeolli). To be honest, the kimchi lacks a bit. It’s a bit dark. It should have a condensed flavor. If you look at the kimchi, it just looks like a kimchi product
that’s been fermented. It’s transparent. It’s a lower grade kimchi. I would give this kimchi 75 points. Let’s try this one. With skate body. I’ll try it with mustard kimchi. Mustard kimchis have a strong scent. The tangy flavor weakens the skate scent. Skate should be eaten with kimchi.
The mustard kimchi isn’t good. You want to see an up close mukbang?
Okay. I’ll be your avatar. Add radish sprouts?
Okay. Garlic, chili, skate, and kimchi? I’ll add 3 slices of skate. 3 slices of skate. Add some kimchi. 3 slices of garlic?
Like this. 2 slices of pork belly? Like this? Lots of ssamjang (soy paste sauce)? I won’t be able to talk after eating this. I won’t be able to talk for a minute.
I hope you’ll understand. Let’s do this! Charm! Charm! Charm~! (He didn’t talk for 1 minute and 48 seconds.) 3 slices of skate is very salty. And strong! I’m okay as long as you guys are satisfied. You can’t eat many slices at once. Eat one slice with a bowl of makgeolli. Let’s try this skate jjim. Convenience store skates, The moment you open it,
you get an ammonia scent right away. This isn’t like that. It doesn’t have a strong stinky scent. The scent isn’t strong. And the scent doesn’t spread a lot. But as you chew,
you get that scent and a deep flavor. Lower grade skates have a strong first taste,
and a weak finish. The roof of my mouth has been destroyed. All the skin has peeled off. And it’s being regenerated. This is almost like an ointment. It’s very strong! The jjim is very strong. If you’re constipated,
or have difficulties digesting, or if you need detox, try skate. I’ve never felt sick after eating skate. “Can beginners eat that?” Don’t eat it. Try it when alcohol starts to become tasty to you. It’s tasty. Skate fries and pancakes are advanced level. Is this skate pancake? I’ll try it. It came with a pancake. Is it skate pancake? It’s not. If this whole Korean skate set menu
was in the $80 range, it would’ve been nice. $118 is a bit too expensive. It’s strong. (x2) It’s devil’s food. But as you eat, you can’t stop! Since skate has a tangy kick, it’s good to eat with fatty foods. If you look, Skate experts will know this. This skate has wide grains. So this is Korean giant skate. The fermentation level is medium-low. Charm! Charm! Charm~! *Final Verdict* Today is the day after Thanksgiving. I’ve tried the complete set. It’s too expensive. But 957 people are watching right now. So it was worth the money. Since 957 people are watching, it’s money well spent. It was a good meal. I won’t reveal which restaurant it’s from. But it’s a good restaurant. And an expensive one. There are no parcel deliveries during the holidays. So my following videos could be just drinking videos, instead of product reviews. I like making such videos.
I hope you enjoy them. Like and subscribe. Please~! I’ll see you all next time! Bye~! Signing off! *Thirsty Korean TV*
